Keeping up with tradition we spent our early birthday this year at W HK, we did the same at W Sentosa, Singapore having had an amazing time. Lets start with location of W HK which was surprisingly convenient, direct train from the airport and to other parts of HK right at its doorstep from the connected Elements Mall. Service was excellent, every staff is seen to make efforts to please and assist guests. Food (breakfast) was good with fresh juices to start the day and plentiful to choose from, living up to HK's gastronomic reputation. Room is not the largest in its class, but well equipped and comes with a view to die for. Amenities are of highest quality, we couldn't resist and took them back! Rooftop pool is amazing, minus the summer heat (by the way, do plan your trip to coincide with its pool champagne party once a month). The only letdown was that they did not make any special birthday settings for us despite informing in advance, W Sentosa, Singapore did an amazing one for us last year. Collapse

I have stayed at the Sheraton in Kowloon for years but it is starting to get pretty beat up and the construction noise is a real pain. So this is my first stay at the W and I will be back for sure. The hotel is located on top of the Element mall so if you like $100,000 watches the shops are great - a large selection of the most expensive brands in the world. So not much use for me other than the nice restaurants and the access to the Kowloon MTR and tunnel to the island. The location works great for me but not as fun as being on Nathan road which is a short taxi ride away. The hotel is very modern, clean and efficient. You arrive and have to take a sweat box elevator to the 6th floor - seriously it was like a sauna in there! Reception was very friendly and every experience with the staff was superb, just flat out great service end to end. I had the corner room with a view of the ocean and across to the island (the ICC building blocks the view some). Room was large, shower was excellent and comfortable beds and soft towels made this a really great experience. Breakfast in the morning was a very good mix and overall very good with top class service. This is a modern hotel, live DJ playing jazzy type tunes in the bar and a really nice bright and clean feel to the place. Overall one of the nicest hotel experiences I have had in a while and I would recommend this to anyone. I will be back in HKG November and there is no debate where I will stay! Collapse

My stay at W hotel was beyond my expectations. This was my first time staying on the Kowloon side and I definitely had my doubts in terms of accessibility and convenience. However, W Hotel proved my doubts wrong! Although it was hot and extra humid due to the rain I had no hiccups getting to the hotel. It is only a short train ride to Kowloon station, which is connected to a huge air conditioned mall that leads u comfortably to the hotel. Unlike most hotels that are situated in more central areas, the lobby at W hotel was not crowded with passing by tourists. I stayed at the Fantastic Suite with my husband and I must say the cleanliness of the room, the bed and the huge windows with breathtaking views were a wow factor for me. The gym, pool, spa, sauna and jacuzzi all have huge windows with stunning views of Hong Kong as they are all on floors 73~76. The facilities are immaculate and quiet, making it a true getaway within hectic Hong Kong. We had the dinner and breakfast buffet at Kitchen. Although I'm a very picky eater I was amazed at the quality of its fresh seafood, cooked fish, sushi and prime rib. They had the perfect balance of western and Asian food, not only for dinner but also for breakfast. But I must say their dessert bar really blew my mind because most buffets never get their dessert right. One touch that I really enjoyed were the different aromas throughout the hotel, which added to our stay being pleasant and refreshing. The staff was young and professional, quick to respond, and friendly. They definitely made our stay so pleasant! Special thanks to their Insider, Yvonne, for taking care of everything we needed! We can't wait to come back and would highly recommend to all travellers, especially if you want to venture off HK Island. Collapse

I had booked the W HK after staying at the Sheraton HK for one night, and I am very happy with my decision to switch hotels during my trip to HK in June and July. I was immediately greeted by Keith who checked me into the hotel and even upgraded my room being an SPG guest! He was very friendly and his service was phenomenal; he remembered my name every stay I had at the hotel! At the end of my first stay, I was greeted by Sammy Yick, the W Experience Manager, who so kindly asked me about my stay and trip. I told her that I loved the property and its rooms so much, and that I would be returning in July. She went out of her way to take care of my next stay through email and ensured I got a beautiful Spectacular room with a lovely view. My family and I were impressed by the service level at this W. After our second perfect stay, we booked a few more days, where Sammy helped to plan my sister's surprise birthday amenity!!! It was such a pleasant surprise for my sister, and the staff went above and beyond our expectations. We plan to stay at the W HK every time we return for our travels in the future. Thank you for many perfect stays and memories W HK! Collapse

Went for a couples getaway trip with a massage and buffet dinner on a Friday. I have stayed at W Taipei before and I was amazed by both the design of the room and the location so I had high hopes for W hk. First off, wifi is not free unless your some prestigious member of starwood. That's fine, but the room itself I find the renovation to be quite boring and very dark in general, not to mention it took me some time to find where the light switches were. No positive surprise basically from the room itself. However, the massage was quite nice in comparison with other hotel of similar caliber. The staff at the spa was very kind and helpful to explain the treatment and different products they offer. The biggest letdown I have to say was the dinner buffet. It costs about 400 or so per head which is about standard for a hotel in hk, but the food selection is small compared to say shangri la in hk, and the food does not taste nice. We did not stay long, the whole experience was disappointing really. The location is convenient right above the Kowloon station with the elements mall offering mostly luxurious shops and a giant cinema. Overall, I think W elsewhere offers better value given the price.
