The Viva hotels are very much family orientated and this is the 3rd one we've holidayed at. Excellent pools albeit not heated they are a bit cool at Easter but we had hot weather so it wasn't a problem. We had room 326 which overlooked the canal, it was a nice view but the balcony was small and never got any sun at all. If you want a sunny balcony you need to upgrade to a pool view. Nico the entertainer was great and he was always trying to involve kids and adults in lots of different games. The football pitch was always well used by my 2 sons (13 & 11 ) but that is one of the reasons we use VIVA hotels. All in all a very nice hotel. Collapse
Nice hotel but aimed more at families than couples

Nice hotel, spotlessly clean, lovely big rooms (we had a 1 bed apartment) no problem getting a sunbed, good location, friendly staff. We did over look the road and there was a lot of noise in the morning, plenty English TV channels not just stuck with BBC News, rooms cleaned most days, great wifi all around the hotel. Cannot comment on the food as was self catering but the drinks were expensive. Neither did we experience the entertainment. In general a good hotel and we would return if we came back to alcudia. We arrived in the early hours 2.30am after being let down by our car transfer company ! its around 75 to 80 euro by taxi from the airport to Alacudia around half an hour pretty expensive although car transfers are around 140 return normally , check in as normal easy strait to bed , i up graded to all inclusive as is a very good standard , you could not ask for more great breakfast, choice of buffet lunch or order from the grill , evening buffet plenty of choice fresh salads, vegi choice, fish, etc its the quality of the food that marks viva out as a brand you can trust not only on food & drink but on standards generally throughout the Hotel you know what your going to get ,the cost of all inclusive for two adults & two children as of our stay was 144 euro a day which in my opinion is fantastic value , we stopped capdepera to see the castle called at the castle resturant for a light lunch ,plain spag, spag bol childrens, soup & feta salad water ,1 beer 45 euro in a blink of an eye add breakfast dinner eating out without ice creams drinks etc i could go through 200 a day easy, & not get half the quality thats the main point, animation team great special thanks to Marta,Nico,Husan who really put an effort in,a big thanks to Manuel at the grill bar so happy polite & such energy, also Aiana again great service , housekeeping again every day really good standard & happy , thats one thing with this hotel all the staff from the managers across the board all seem happy makes a big differance , we stayed in the five star zafiero viva & viva sunrise knocks it for six simply for this reason,a thanks to the two life guards who again were great esp when our children had a scrape they put plasters on etc sure the kids made it up at times, i think it worth a mention that we had four or more junior foot ball teams stay over easter weekend which i know a few brits were not happy about it did not bother us as we like it busy & i thought some brits as we can do became very territorial its my hotel kind of attitude , the splash pool is for 2 to 12 year olds the teams rotated to go in all max age 10ish down to 6 & one brit was going crazy at staff as they insisted that is was only for toddlers although there children were 5 to 8 ish but was handled well by the coaches & hotel staff a bit embarrassing to be honest how rude some brits are abroad ,we upgraded to a jaquzzi terrace room 133 which there are i think only 10 of in the hotel 5 roof terraces & 5 first floor terraces which are great gives you your own private hot tub & terrace great for you & the children ours loved & from this room you can watch the show on the stage from your terrace, not to worry about noise as all music etc is pretty much fi by 10.30 ish , you can go out plenty of clubs pubs resturants etc all around five min away tops , beech five min walk again perfect for children lovley sand clear shallow beach beautiful views, easy car hire just two min walk from hotel however be aware that the smaller companys on majorca have a twelve hour hire policy so if you take out say 8 in the morning it has to be back for 8 in the evening the bigger firms hertz etc are still 24 hour but worth knowing, there is a good bus service to & from palma 5 euro then the A1 bus to the airport 2 euroish allow hour or so ,at the hotel if you want pool view ask for odd numbers 1,3,5, to face pool quieter rooms in my opinion, & evens 2,4,6 for canal mountain view, you can get street noise ie deliverys cars , people back & forth etc although not a through road just residential, you aare around half an hour from old town well worth a visit , market days weds , sun, old roman walled town usual little streets very clean lots of boutiqe shops, resturants etc, beautiful church we went for easter sunday mass was lovley, bus can take you there just ask reception they will give you timetable cost around 12 euro return family of four,or just walk up the beach to the porto turn left arond 30 to 40 min walk family pace , we have really enjoyed our two weeks at viva sunrise big thanks to all the staff & management definatley reccomend this hotel . Kind Regards William Collapse

As 2 adults and 2 children, we spent a week at the viva sunrise in April 2017. We had read many good reviews on trip advisor before arriving and had high hopes and expectations. We weren't disappointed - the hotel was clean, modern and everything we wanted for an Easter break in the sun. We were also really lucky with the weather - glorious sunshine every day for the whole week. Pool area and bar are great and staff are friendly and helpful. Entertainment left a bit to be desired but I really think this is only due to it being just before the season - I understand this hotel opened earlier this year than years before. The area is great for couples and families and there are bars and restaurants nearby - we spent a few nights in the Jokers Irish bar, just around the corner. The port is a stroll down the beach away with everything you could ask for. Our first time to Mallorca -and we will definitely return - and wouldn't hesitate to return to the viva sunrise. Collapse
