Ok so just arrived home from 5 nights at the vista picas the rooms were dated & in 6 days only got cleaned twice! There is no air con & the wifi only really works around the pool / reception area it's very poor in the rooms! The pool was dirty with bits floating around in it & the sunbeds were uncomfortable although you could always get one as it's ghostly around the pool area until after school when all the Spanish kids take over the pool! We asked at reception for a late check out as one of the party is diabetic so we really needed to keep our fridge we were told to go back the day before we left. We did that & were told no chance the hotel was full (I doubted very much it was) so we were abit naughty & when a new receptionist came on we went back & asked her to which we were told we could!!! So my advice is never take no for an answer. On our last day the lady who had told us no just blanked us at reception - very mature! Another random thing to add is that on returning home today my friend received a Facebook message off a guy that was staying in the hotel very random as he didn't know her name etc. On asking him how he found her she got told reception gave him her details!!!!!!!! Surely giving out customer details from a scanned passport is a breach of confidentiality?? The area is ghostly half of the bars & shops have closed down & I think I counted 3 shops & 2 supermarkets in total! All the restaurants offer the same menu which gets abit boring! No proper beaches they're all tiny little coves. Overall we did have an amazing holiday because it's not the place that makes it but the company! I wouldn't go back & would recommend this place for perhaps those looking for a holiday whereby you do nothing as there isn't even really anywhere to go for a walk! Collapse
Falsely advertised, not for couples

Vistas Picas was an interesting visit for me and my partner, very mixed reviews. we were informed that our stay would include air conditioning, the apartment was 500m from the beach and that we would be supplied with fresh sheets and towels at least 2/3times over the period we were there. Unfortunately, none of this was true.. We were told we would have to pay €15 to hire a fan for the week to attempt to cool down the room at night in 27-30 degree heat, sadly all this did was circulate hot stuffy air around the room, not ideal. The beach.. not sure you could call it that, it was a 10m strip of sand. Not what we were expecting. However, we decided to get some buses to other beaches on the island which turned out to be a fantastic idea. The reception staff were great at helping us work out what bus to get and when. Highly recommend visiting Cala Galdana or Cala en Bosch, lovely beaches! During our week stay our towels were changed once and we were in doubt that our bedsheets had been changed at all which wasn't ideal considering the heat we were in. The pool was by far the best thing about the place, fantastic size and plenty of sun chairs and umbrellas dotted round it, ideal for families! One thing we noticed about the area in general was that it was extremely family orientated everywhere we went there was plenty entertainment for kids. Not so good for a young couple. Having been to Menorca before I had extremely high expectations for Cala en Blanes.. sadly we will not be returning as the only thing I can compare it to is the television programme Benidorm, not our kind of holiday. Jimmy Hills was also an interesting experience some unique entertainment, Boy R Back in Town were a favourite and the bar staff there were good fun. The music lasted till 12 unlike some reviews claiming it was on till 3/4. There were a couple of really good restaurants unfortunately cannot remember the name, good for tapas and grilled meats. All in all a below average holiday, that we felt had been falsely advertised. Collapse

There was 7 of us split between three apartments my daughter, son in law and two children had a two bedroom upstairs apt which was a very good size and had a large balcony. We were allocated a 1 bedroom apt downstairs with my brother being above us in a 1 bedroom upstairs apt with his partner and their granddaughter. The pool is a good size and the kiddies which is attached to it is a decent size also.Regards to sunbeds there is no fighting over them or getting up at 6 o,clock to put towels on there is plenty to go around. The eating area has a decent sized menu to choose from and the prices are pretty reasonable, we only had a couple of snacks when we were there as there is plenty of eateries around the area to try.My family and ourselves found the accomodation comfortable and roomy especially the upstairs two bedroom apartment the staff were friendly and the cleaners changed the towels twice in the week. The only downside was during the night there is a irish pub which is situated behind the complex who have karioke and other entertainment on and the revellers come out at all times singing and shouting which is a shame as we found the area a nice place to visit. We are definitely not killjoys and like to see everybody enjoying themselves but as far as the locals are concerned all venues where there is music on are supposed to stop at midnight or close the outside doors. This is only a small blip as far as we are concerned as we will definitely be booking up the same apartments for next year. nice large apts bit dated.beds quite comfy.had everything you needed.changed towels twice a week and bed linen once.no air con.you could only use one water appliance at a time.eg if you flushed the toilet you had to wait till it filled back up before you could wash your hands.there was a few cracked tiles around pool.but pool kept clean.plenty sunbeds even though you did get some people putting their towels out early and leaving them for half a day.resort ideal for young children.staff friendly. The biggest complaint of all which is no fault of the complex was the noise coming from bar 61 up till 4am we assumed the bars had to be soundproofed after midnight so had to keep all doors and windows closed which made it uncomfortable in the heat.however after all ive said i would return to these apts.and they were good value for money Collapse
