I was planning a trip for 7 couples. I was looking for a valued hotel without compromising too much on quality. I think I found a great mix with this hotel (via expedia). Not the biggest hotel, but worked just fine for us. Location/Hotel: this hotel is not located in the hustle and bustle of Barcelona central. But it is still in a decent place. There are eateries right around the corner as well as market. Short walk to subway. Short walk to Arena de Barcelona (shopping and eating). Fairly quiet location. Hotel is clean and has a modern decor. Check in was fairly quick. They give you 2 keys (one you must leave in for AC to work). Elevators like all of europe is tiny and slow. Big plus, they stock the fitness room (terribly small) with water bottles. We would stock up prior to leaving for the day. Sauna is only open during the day so I never used it. Nice lobby to hang out with friends. Concierge was pretty helpful in making dinner reservations. They can also call cabs for you. You have to walk towards the main street to get a cab. Rooms: Small but did the job. Bed is more like a full. Mattress nice and firm. AC worked well, we just left it on all the time. Bathroom is nicely decorated with lots of amenities. Water pressure was fantastic, except there is no full door on shower. So lots of water escapes and floods bathroom floor. Only 2 towels offered. Not that many plugs in the room. No USB charging area. No view in our room (206). But very short walk to elevator or stairs. Small closet. No safe (downstairs in lobby). There is a mini fridge with comp water bottles. Wifi works fairly well. Overall: this is a fine hotel and did the job for us. We couldn't walk to the main areas (las Rambla or Born/Gothic area). But short cab ride or subway ride to everywhere. Breakfast was additional 12 euros so we didn't get it. I would return. Collapse

We stayed at Hotel Vilamari Monday 12th June until Thursday 15th June 2017 and i must say i was more than happy with my choice. We arrived in Barcelona early on the Monday and went to the hotel to see if we could leave our bags and check what time they thought the room would be ready, the young man on check in was lovely, so welcoming, helpful and kind (thank you), he checked and said our room was ready and we could check in early, so grateful for that - our room was on the 3rd floor and overlooking the small courtyard i agree the view isnt the best but who cares, i was only there for a few days and hadnt come for the view on this occassion. The room was spotless, size wise was fine for both of us with a comfortable bed, large desk with drawers, mini fridge and supplied with 4 small waters which were replenished each day. Wardrobe space ample for a few days, nice bathroom with complimentary toiletries, lovely soft towels. There is free wifi and the connection speed was fine, no low signal and had no problem. We decided to book breakfast (we did initially have room only) as it was cheaper to book the night before by a few Euro's. Breakfast was a good choice and you could eat inside or out in the courtyard which we chose everyday. There was usually three different fruit juices (orange, peach, pineapple), various cereals, lots of various rolls and breads which were delicious, the fresh fruit each morning was delightful (pineapple, strawberry, kiwi and watermelon), yogurt, cold meats, various cheeses, salad items, hot option usually bacon and sausage, lovely pastries/cakes as well, homemade jams, nutella and more - as much as you can eat well worth the money. There is a small gym which we didnt use, laundry service again we didnt use, room service for a small 2 euro charge. The only very slight thing i could say negative is that the food menu for lunch/evening could be slightly improved as there was only 5 choices for main course and limited so we didnt eat in the hotel apart from breakfast. The hotel is in a great area, i agree its not in the centre but it doesnt say on there website it is - it was a fairly quick airport bus ride which cost us 5.10 Euro Single each and took about 20 mins On the way back to the airport we decided to go for a taxi and that cost us 22.10 Euro alot cheaper than i thought it would be. There are lots of mini supermarkets around, bakery, sandwich shop, small cafes/bars literally on the door step. There is a metro close by and also a bus but we walked everywhere, a nice pleasant walk into the centre took us about 30 mins. I would like to thank all the staff for such a warm welcome, clean rooms and just a generally friendly and helpful atmosphere. THANK YOU !!!! Collapse

We arrived in Barcelona on Monday 29th May 2017. For ease and speed, we took a taxi from the airport to this hotel at a cost of 24 euros. On arrival reception staff were friendly and efficient and although early for check-in we were given our room straight away. Room 209 was on the second floor. First impressions on the hotel were good. There was the much noted aroma of spiced vanilla diffusing throughout the modern, clean reception area. Our room was in keeping with this theme. However, we did find that although the room was small and compact and I wouldn't like to have stayed for more than a few nights, it was adequate for our needs. The lighting was rather dim and the window looked into an enclosed courtyard which gave very little natural light and if the curtain was open other occupants were able to see into our room. The bed was comfortable with a choice of pillows. Wardrobe space was adequate for our needs, but again small if planning to stay for a longer period of time. The bathroom was modern, clean and supplied with complementary shampoo, showergel toothpaste/brush. There was a fridge with complementary water but no hot drink facilities. Drinks from the bar were rather pricey and there was a pleasant outdoor courtyard to enjoy the Barcelona sunshine. The hotel is extremely well situated near Playa Espanya - where there is a indoor shopping arena and where you can travel to the top for great panoramic views of Barcelona and lovely restaurants. There are many other cafes and restaurants in the area also to eat, drink and watch the world go by. Local transport is easily accessible - we chose the tourist bus which was about £40 each for two days, but we'll worth it. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for a short stay for its locality, cleanliness and friendly staff who were extremely helpful with general tips, booking attractions and general information. The receptionist on duty Thursday 1st June in the morning was extremely helpful throughout our stay. Can't comment on food as we stayed room only. Collapse
