We stayed at the Vila Gale Praia for 3 nights whilst visiting the Algarve in June. Check In The check in process was very efficient. Upon arrival we were give cold towels and lemon tea. The reception staff were delightful and spoke great English. We arrived at 1pm but our room was ready immediately which was a bonus. Amenities The pool area has the most comfortable loungers I've ever laid on and the pool area was clean and peaceful. There are a couple of properties being renovated nearby and at times there was building noise. We never had difficulty getting 2 loungers around the pool despite the hotel being full. This included when we went to the pool early afternoon after spending the morning at the beach. Pool towels are included and there is a bar open from midday. The spa facilities are lovely (although we didn't use them). The room is well equipped and had great air conditioning. Parking is a bit of a problem after 11am due to people visiting the beach. Bar and restaurant Food and drink is reasonably priced and you can charge to your room so no need to carry cash everywhere. The lunch menu was very nice (mainly toasted sandwiches) and they also provide room service until midnight. Breakfast is great with a wide selection that would suite everyone. Service is a little slow but that applies to most establishments in Portugal. Location The hotel is 15mins from Albufeira old town and a taxi will cost 11€. The hotel is in a quiet area 5mins from the beach. There is a wonderful fish restaurant overlooking the beach called Alamares. I would definitely recommend a visit here. If you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing stay this is a good place. I don't think I would have enjoyed staying longer than 3 nights due to the lack of local restaurants. I'm not the kind of person that enjoys eating at the hotel most evenings. Atmosphere My only real criticism of this hotel is that the atmosphere is a little flat. It seems to attract a lot of regulars but the bar and restaurant is always really quiet. I think it would actually be better if it had more rooms to create a bit of a buzz. Cleanliness The cleaning staff work tirelessly to ensure every inch of the hotel is pristine. You will struggle to find a speck of dust anywhere. I don't think I would stay here again but if your idea of a great holiday is to lay by a quiet pool reading books - this will be perfect for you! Collapse

Stayed at this hotel for 7 nights half board with my partner, I have absouloutely no negative comment against this establishment so lets get to the good stuff. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Firstly i have to say my best part was the evening food! My girlfriend is a very fussy eater so always hard to find somewhere to eat, but honestly the food they prepare in this hotel are of the best standard. Very good menu with a daily menu that changes each day. I have tried some excellent food but woow!!! I cannot explain how my tastebuds where feeling on this holiday, was looking forward to the meal the nexy daybafter finishing dessert :D ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Staff and presntation- I work in customer service and the service received is as good as would give so more than happy to give a huge shout out to the team at VIle Gale i have nothing bad to say against the staff, only 40 rooms in the hotel so staff always remember your face. Best service in any hotel i have stayed!!! Rooms and Hotel - The room we were staying in was very spacious with a large bed and a very good AC unit which always helps. Big shower and very clean rooms which are cleaned daily, only if you want it cleaned that is. Hotel is in great condition and situated in a very quiet part of albufeira, so if anyone is worried about any late night partying it wont happen in this part of town. The pool and area around is very clean and there is always a member of staff to assist. The rest I will leave for you to experience. Very highly reccomended and will deffinetley be returning Collapse

We were really happy that we chose to stay just outside of Albuferia, and we were very happy with the hotel. The hotel is literally a 5 minute walk from a very, very beautiful beach with two nice restaurants right on the beach. We did go into Albuferia both nights, and that was a 10/15 minute ride into town. It's not super fancy. We weren't looking for super fancy. We were looking for relaxed, and it was very relaxed, modern and clean. We had a room with a balcony that looked out onto the pool, which was nice. We didn't have time to use the spa, but that looked very nice as well. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We would stay there again if we ever find ourselves back in the Algarve. Collapse

Beginning with the positives .....The staff here are smart, pleasant and professional. The hotel itself is run very efficiently throughout. Drinks are of a good quality as is the food which is served both in the dining room and at the pool side snack bar. Pool areas are lovely and well kept. The outdoor pool is not as cold as others we have visited, which was a plus. The indoor pool our boys also found very enjoyable.. The negatives for us would be that this hotel is situated on a very busy dual carriageway, with views from road side rooms of KFC and McDonalds. Despite double glazing, hotel rooms are subjected to a great deal of traffic noise, which does include emergency vehicles hurtling past with their sirens blaring at all hours of the day and night. You can see the sea in the distance from the pool side of the hotel. You do get the feeling of staying in a hotel which is maybe more suited to the business traveller. Unfortunately on the third night of our four night break we were awakened by the hotel fire alarm sounding. The alarm sounded for a good hour whilst many of the guests had made their way down to the reception area clearly anxious as to what was going on. The hotel Director was called in and upon her arrival she did expalin that an alarm cover had been accidently broken and until this was replaced the alarm sound would continue. At the time we did view this as a safety concern. Despite the position of our room which was road side and the disruption to our sleep we did manage to make the most of our stay and had a nice time. This hotel is 40 minutes max from the airport by taxi. Stayed here for 3 nights for a short girls holiday. This is an adult only hotel which was great and it's in a quiet area. The pool area is very nice, with minimal people around the pool but with plenty of sun beds. We sat at the tables by the pool for a toasted sandwich at lunchtime on the first day which came with chips and was €4.00 which I thought was very reasonable. The rooms were very nice, lots of wardrobe space with robes and slippers you could wear if you wanted. Tea making facilities. Hairdryer. Small toiletries provided. They give you pool towels at reception if you ask. Beach is a few mins walk down the road, we hired 4 sun loungers for €30 we got a discount because we hired 4. The beach is lovely. There are a couple of nice fish restaurants nearby, I don't eat fish but there were other things on the menu too. We went to the hotel restaurant on the last night, as other reviews point out, there wasn't loads of choice, steak and risotto being the main choices however, the meal was really nice and so were the staff who served us. I'd like to bring my husband to this hotel next time, it was great for a long weekend or maybe a week. I'd definitely recommend if it's a peaceful holiday you want. Collapse
