The hotel is located centrally in Sliema, within a few minutes one can reach the promenade. The service at the front desk, spa and the dinner is very good and the people there are extremely polite. Further positives: - renovated room with appropriate furnitures - clean room when we arrived - very good and fresh dinner - fresh breakfast (English style) - the restaurant is very clean - if problems occur, the personal quickly reacts appropriately - clean Sauna and swimming pool - good equipped fitness area - free water in fitness and pool area - free wifi everywhere - cheap parking (2€ per day) - nice lobby - quiet rooms, your neighbours will not bother you much Negatives: - the day-to-day cleaning is not as good as when we arrived (bed lining was not exchanged within 8 days, dust was not removed everywhere) - repetitive breakfast, could include a little more variety of cheese and so on - I suppose the scrambled eggs consist of instant powder - room 505 is located below the indoor pool pump which runs between 7 am and 9 pm. Therefore you can not stay in this room within this period without a loud noise in the background (this issue was solved for us very fast and polite by moving to another room) All in all we can recommend the hotel. Foremost the personal and the dinner are a four-star hotel appropriate. The minor negatives are reducing the overall score here to 4 points. We can imagine to book it again when we go to Malta. Shame it's in the middle of the town.

Had to stay here again just for one night due to flight errors. Great little mid ranged hotel, staff are terrific, food great, bar manager a "nutter" in the nicest possible way. Shame it's where it is as the views are not great, but central to all of Sliema. Good sized room, bathroom, large, bright and clean. Thanks to Martin, Head Barman and Robert the Head Waiter. Collapse

It is one of the pair of hotels on the same block. This one being a 4star hotel is worth the money. We enjoyed the friendly staff, especially Charles. The moment we stepped into the hotel, we were treated with respect and care. The room is recently renovated even though the hotel maintains the classic feel of the yester years. The breakfast is wonderful. I would come back any time. Collapse

We visited Malta with another couple in early November of 2016. The Victoria Hotel is a first class hotel, reasonably priced hotel in Silema. It is in an ideal location, being only a 5-10 minute walk to the boardwalk by the ocean, taking you through some of the oldest and most unique architecture in the world. From the boardwalk area you can take a short ferry ride to Valetta and enjoy the incredible old world charm and history of Malta. There are many restaurants and boat excursions from this point also. On arrival at the Victoria Hotel, we were warmly and efficiently greeted in the stately and refined front lobby. Amenities include a large buffet/dining room (book the breakfasts, it's worth it), an inviting pub, 2 pools (indoor and outdoor), gym, saunas, lounging areas by the pool and a spa. The rooftop offers amazing views of the city, a large infinity pool and an excellent Asian restaurant. The hotel's dining room offers special theme dinners at a set cost. We enjoyed a great British-style roast beef dinner with all the trimmings, including wine for 25 euros. Our room was exceptionally clean, large and comfortable. The view was of the apartment and alleyway next door, nothing special, but you could slide open the large window for a nice breeze. In summary, I highly recommend this hotel for its comfort, amenities and location for sight seeing. Collapse

This was a nice hotel but right from the start things were a little odd. We actually stayed at the old palace in the Princess Penelope Suite. This title alone made us wonder what was to welcome us inside...... We walked across from the main hotel ushered by a young lady trying to drag our bags. We then took charge as she seemed to be struggling. Once inside this palace looks amazing but we then had to drag our bags up the grand staircase as there was no lift. Excited to see our room considering the opulent grand decor we were rather dissatisfied when opening our room we discovered the remodelling was so modern in every way. A strange thing too was that the bedroom was upstairs and the bathroom downstairs. Collapse
