Went here with a group of friends at the weekend and it was just fabulous. From the super friendly helpful and warm staff to the delicious food to the lovely cosy and clean rooms. Especially loved the personalised welcome card and treats that awaited us in our rooms. The hotel is ideally located in Barna-a beautiful little village by the sea and only a short spin to Galway where we danced the night away. Highly recommend this hotel for friends, couples and families. The staff couldn't have been nicer which made our stay all the more enjoyable. Collapse

Absolute fab stay from start to finish. Arrived with lovely welcome and hot drink to be informed we got upgraded. Delighted. Room is a treat and voya products in room are heavenly. Ate in bar that evening huge portions and gorgeous food. Staff are so polite and friendly it really stands out. Got lovely birthday cake made in bakery collected next day and also bought loaf of their bread which is yum. All round a brilliant stay for a getaway from the norm. Cannot wait to return. Collapse

We stayed here recently. There were some major highs but a few lows also. Highs! Staff - friendly, warm, welcoming, professional Food - we had dinner in the Pins Gastro Bar and it was superb. Breakfast was outstanding with high quality hot food(made to order) and scones and pastries. Luxury Suite - the suite was beautifully decorated with a very comfy bed and good quality bedding. Lows! The shower didn't work - staff dealt very promptly with our complaint and compensated us with a bottle of wine when unable to fix it which was appreciated but it was an inconvenience. Lighting - first impression the mood lighting is gorgeous but there is no main light that you can switch on to brighten it when you're packing etc. Fixtures - taps were loose, air conditioning was very good at heating the room but cooling component didn't seem to work. Entertainment - the music in the bar wasn't to our taste. The musician was unquestionably accomplished but the atmosphere was drab. Verdict! Overall we enjoyed our visit and would return. Collapse

Happily for me I recently won a competition, the prize for which was dinner, bed and breakfast in the Twelve Hotel. As we were travelling quite a distance to get there we booked in for a second night. My only regret was checking out! From the moment we arrived we were struck by the friendly and welcoming nature of the staff. The hotel itself is stylish and comfortable and our room was spacious and due to the layout of the rooms along the corridor we were not aware of noise from other guests at any stage. Breakfast was excellent with a great range of dishes cooked to order. Dinner in West was an incredible experience especially as we availed of the sommelier's wine pairings. The absolute highlight for me though was a behind the scenes experience in the Twelve Bakery. This was also a part of the prize. Norma the bakery chef took me under her wing for a few hours and took me through a typical day in her kitchen which involves baking fresh scones and pastries for breakfast and supplies for the shop. The bakery is a fantastic enterprise and well worth a visit to stock up on treats for the journey home. Our stay in the Twelve was amazing and we are already planning a return visit Collapse

Our two night stay (16th & 17th Feb 2017), in the Twelve Hotel, Barna was a sublime experience. We were accompanied by Nelson, (a five year old "used to the good life" pug dog) and on arrival were given a most welcome goody bag for Nelson and shown to our special (used only by those with accompanying dog) suite, which comprised of a bedroom, seperate sitting room and capacious shower room. There was also a minibar and associated coffee / tea making facilities here so one can be quite independent. This boutique hotel is simply marvellous, skilled welcoming trained staff, very tasteful cutting edge decor, and two dining options. namely The Pins Bar (which also is where breakfast is served - everything from Eggs Benedict to the Full Irish, locally baked pastries and all served by charming welcoming staff. The second dining option is Upstairs at West and here I must draw breath.....words like superb, gourmet, Michelin Star candidate, out of this world, one of the top three dining dining experiences in my life just about get there to describe this marvellous restaurant. From the moment one walks into this beautiful room, greeted by the warmly welcoming staff, selects from the descriptive menu, consumes breads, amuse bouche, starter, main course, dessert and quaffs from the superb wine list ( try the Austrian Pinot Noir), one is transported to a place seldom experienced but so welcomed. Enough, he cried, enough..........we will return, and look forward to a restful, tranquil break in room 1284 with dinner in Upstairs at the West. Go now, before the masses get to hear about it and experience as we have done. Collapse
