From the momement we arrived for our anniversary, we could tell that the experience would be exceptional. Greeted warmly at reception, we received two glasses of home made ice tea, a lovely touch, before we were actually escorted to our room by the receptionist who kindly highlighted the wonderful amenities in the room. The room was lovely, spacious, modern and clean. The room did face the main road which was occasionally distracting at night but easily remedied with ear plugs. While staying in July, although the room was air conditioned, we benefitted from asking for an additional fan from the very kind recptionists. The bar food was not just bar food. It was of a higer standard than any other restaurant we have ever dined in. The selection of drinks available was amazing if not overwhelming! The highlight of our stay however was the tasting menu at the main restaurant, the west, on the first floor. A selection of dishes created by the chef, changing each day, was nothing if not michelin star quality, extremely creative and delicious. We both had massages in the le petite spa by the wonderful audrey. My wife claims it to be the best head massage she has ever received. I would highly reccomemd treatments here. We were also collected at our door which was a nice touch you dont normally experience. Finally, the most impressive part our stay at the twelve was the staff who extremely accomodating and wonderfully pleasant. There was the wonderfully patient maeve at reception who organised our breakfast, dvds for our room and organised a seaweed bath for my wife. There was also the brilliant Fergal and Siobhan(i think) who ran the west restaurant seemlessly and gave the best two nights of dining we have ever had in our lives, not to forget the incredible chef. Extremely attentive, they went above and beyond for our anniversary celebration. You can tell that these are professionals. We enjoyed our trip so much we have already booked for our next anniversary! Collapse

We had a small wedding reception in the Twelve 3 weeks ago and from the second we booked it, we knew it was going to be amazing. Fergus was so professional and easy to deal with, he knew exactly what we were looking for and delivered just that on the day. Each and every one of the staff were extremely friendly and efficient. We went for canapés, rather than a sit down meal and it was all delicious, the food seemed to be bottomless and there was plenty for everyone. They have their own bakery so they made our chocolate biscuit wedding cake in-house, which our friends and family are still raving about. The 'Funnymoon' Suite is the nicest hotel room I have ever seen. It is so spacious and quirky, we would love to stay there again! Nothing was too much trouble for anyone that we were speaking to,(even at 5am!) but what really tipped it off for us was that we went back for a meal yesterday evening and several of the staff made it their business to come over to us to say hello and ask how we were doing etc. It made the whole thing so personal and they made us feel so important even though they were extremely busy. We will never forget it and are so grateful to all of the staff in the Twelve. Collapse

Had a nice stay at the hotel. Rooms are very nice, clean and looked after. The one let down were some of the people working at the hotel. Food was ok, however would expect a little bit more from reading some reviews and based on prices of it.

Upon arrival, we were given fresh juice while we filled out paperwork by an incredibly welcoming receptionist who informed us that we were being upgraded to Suite XXI because it was our anniversary. The general manager, Fergus, came out to greet us and brought us up to our room. We were absolutely blown away by how gorgeous the room was, the features and the plate of treats with a very personal card from reception. We had dinner at West, the food was outstanding and presented beautifully. Siobhan and Marko were absolutely incredible and knowledgeable- and deserve a special mention as they made our dining experience much more spectacular. Siobhan told us that the chef was a local who travelled before returning, which definitely shows in his cooking style and she was able to answer questions about the bakery on site. Herself and Marko showed a huge passion and pride in the service and food they were putting out which was wonderful to experience. The bar staff were also incredible. Offering recommendations, tweaking drinks to our tastes and giving us a wine bucket for our Prosecco and extra strawberries since we were taking it up to our room. Breakfast was incredible with lots of options to suit all tastes and ages (especially the Bloody Mary addition to the juice menu!) We went for a walk down the pier after breakfast, which was less than 2 minute walk from the hotel. When we checked out, we were given a complimentary tea/coffee from the onsite bakery where we bought some brownies to take home as we enjoyed the one gifted to us in our room so much! If I could sum up our stay in one sentence it would be how we were planning our next trip back within 30 minutes of arriving. Wonderful hotel with even more wonderful staff, could not recommend it enough. Collapse
