This hotel was our base for a trip to South east Ireland. The hotel was pleasant enough and clean. There was a mix up with bedrooms as we'd requested a twin. But was given a double to which we complained and was taken on a route march to another supposedly twin but yet another double . Third time lucky a twin. The bathroom was excellent and a good size. The food was ok. Our group found the restaurant muddly. We did speak to the manager that we weren't happy. If a group don't get down together there's a chance they might not be able to sit together and find themselves wandering about the dinning room trying to find a seat. The delivery of the courses weren't consistent so some had finished their course whilst the others on the table were still waiting. Not good. Collapse
After a bad start, hotel (especially Marion) couldn't do more to make us enjoy our stay!

We are a family of five, three children under 10 years old. When we arrive in our room we were disappointed as it was very small so we went for a nice dinner, back to the room but as the night went on we could hear everything that was going on inside and outside the hotel. Also the heat was overwhelming. Not one to complain, we decided we would just go home, so my husband went out to clear bill after breakfast when he met Marion. Marion couldn't do enough for us, she took our three children to the kids club (which they loved) whilst we got some sleep, our room was changed to Block B of the hotel which was so much better, still small but cosy beds and air conditioning. We all slept like a log that night. Thank you Marion and all the staff for being so accommodating. I would only suggest for future reference bigger rooms for families. Waterford itself is lovely and we were there when Waterford beat Kilkenny, the atmosphere in the town was amazing. Collapse

Having read the reviews I was a bit on the cautious side when booking the hotel but went with it. On arrival we were early at check in but the girl on reception was friendly and could see we were tired, the room we had booked was not ready but she immediately gave us a different room so we could get rid of all our luggage and sort our 7 year old out. The room was clean but dated which was fine. We had a couple of minor niggles that were sorted immediately. Breakfast was great buffet style and we really enjoyed it. The lady at breakfast was very welcoming and she asked if all was ok, it was here with hesitation I mentioned my little niggles. She was so kind and understanding andt made me feel at ease for even mentioning my quibble!!! Next thing I know my husband has had a conversation with Marian the Customer Service Manager and she presented us with commentary dinner vouchers for Crocker's restaurant. To say we were delighted was an understatement. We booked our daughter into cinema club which was 5 euro so the husband and I went off to avail of our dinner. We both had fish, which when it came was beautifully presented and the cod was so delicious and literally the size of a whole salmon!!!! We both had desert and waddled out of the restaurant fully satisfied. This morning our daughter wanted to go to breakfast club which ran from 9 till 12, she had breakfast then went to do arts and crafts which by the way was all free!!!! This gave my husband and I the chance to do a little last minute shopping and pack our bags. I have to say the customer service in this family hotel is second to none as both my husband and I have been in customer service roles ourselves, and having stayed in hotels all over Ireland and the world this is a hotel we will be revisiting in the future. If it's modern fancy hotel you want than stay some where else, if it's family based, friendly, accommodating staff who it the family first then this is the hotel for you. I'm going next time I visit I can get one of the refurbished rooms!!!!! Thanks to a staff and especially Marian, live from the White family xx Collapse

We stayed here as part of a Trafalgar costsaver tour. The hotel was centrally located and we could easily walk around the waterfront. It was a challenge finding our room as the halls turned and went off in more than 1 direction. There was a nice pool and hot tub that we used. Supper was part of our tour and it was ok but I think I could have gotten better food at one of the local restaurants. Collapse
