OMG I love this hotel its a hidden treasure we arrived with 3 kids aged 3,4 and 17 something for everyone the staff in each area are outstanding a kids club second to none allowing parents a breakfast and dinner without constant interruption a rare treat indeed. Food in the restaurant and bar were excellent and the breakfast yum and superbly run by the manager and staff. We never ate elsewhere as the food was so good during our stay. The bar even had a kids playzone allowing parents to even have a sneaky drink with the kids club collecting your kids from the room at 9 am this hotel truly spoiled us. Our room was lovely warm comfie and beds perfect plus super dark once curtains were closed for a deep relaxing sleep. The pool was nice the fitting room needs updating but that's minor really as the staff make up for this for sure. Location five star views lovely and walkways by the water also two minutes to the shops couldn't be better thanks to Traceys this is my second visit and cant wait to come again only let down I can come today :) Collapse

As a local, I had the idea in my head that this hotel was for stags and hens so I was a little worried to hear where we were staying. Thankfully I was wrong! It was fantastic value, lovely rooms and very friendly staff. I genuinely couldn't fault it.

Stayed here on New Years Eve... we have stayed in many excellent family friendly hotels... this one takes family friendly to a whole new level... children & adults walking round the bar & lobby in pyjamas, or wrapped in towels with wet hair swinging about from being in the pool.. one 'lady' was sitting in the bar with her hair in rollers, wearing jammies (with a coat over them) and her slippers!! The bar and the area outside Crokers Restaurant were full of families who were very obviously 'self -catering' they came with sweets, crisps, bottles of coke and even mixers for drink purchased from the bar! Staff appeared to be overwhelmed/indifferent which is a huge pity .. we had a fantastic meal in Crokers Restaurant, everything we ate was gorgeous. Sad that on leaving the restaurant we had to climb over toys, games, crisps, drinks etc all over the floor... rooms were adequate, but very noisy - lots of children running about as I type and its 10.45pm... as a parent I appreciate that children need to explore and get excited at Christmas/New Year- this hotel does not appear to have any policies in place to cover thr events I have described....if I wanted to have a communal break I would have chosen Butlins... thankfully we move to a new hotel in the morning! Waterford never ceases to amaze me....the friendliness of the people; the gorgeous and amazing intricacies and gorgeousness of the architecture and the MUSIC ~ even at breakfast time and lunch-time, too. At Treacys Hotel ~ Waterford ~ there was a 1-man band who ROCKED with guitar and drums and singing and through so many styles and eras of music ~ well, I (though the blister on my little toe was not yet healed enough for me to be wearing my OTHER red rubber boot (my NON-'Wonder Woman' birthday boots) ~~ so I was DANCING before and after the MOST DELICIOUS & ONLY "Irish Seafood Chowder" I'd EVER YET TASTED. Dear God ~ seriously ~ I think that my tastebuds & I ALL THOUGHT that I'd died & gone to Gourmande Heaven. ****And, WITH a fresh thickly-sliced hunk of Irish Brown Soda Bread & IRISH BUTTER on that bread. *****I might have been satisfied with just that so FILLING AND HEARTY a delicious meal. But wait, there's MORE ~ so much more. THE Full Irish Breakfast in yet another more formal dining hall (with cloth napkins, no less ~~ or maybe I dreamed that too. No, I don't think so.) Plenty of food and the desk clerks and housekeeping staff were so very patient & helpful ~ sorry, I do not remember all the names of all the people there whose KINDNESSES and 'going the extra mile' to help this visitor from another land ~~ but I THANK YOU PEOPLE NOW. AND, I must include THANKS to the worker man there who told me he would say a special prayer and ask Saint Patrick to help me ~~~ AND HE DID. I shortly thereafter FOUND the remainder of my RT coach ticket back to Dublin. That is a whole other story and I've not yet even mentioned the people at the Post Office, Saint Brigid's Shop, one or more of the Christian Churches there and the bit of extra kindnesses & hospitality shown me as well at a B&B round the corner, too. SO, Thanks all around. P.S. I LOVE YOU ALL AND LOVE IRELAND SO MUCH. Collapse
