Location and staff - SUPERB!| No surprises, you know exactly what you are getting for your money. The first room we were allocated was a bit small, stuffy and hot, but we went back to reception and were moved immediately to a much fresher, nicer and cooler room. Raquel at the reception was very efficient, helpful and so nice about it. Adequate breakfast - again, great value for money, no surprises. Carlos was a lot of fun and again very helpful and friendly. Staff are just wonderful! Collapse

So firstly the pros. 1. Amazing location to beach and some lovely views. 2. The odd staff member who wanted to please. One guy even moved our room when we checked in because of noise he knew would occur. 3. Alcohol. Expensive but it's there at the bar! Needed to knock you out so you could actually get some sleep Firstly I need to say before I list the cons that over a week stay I had 3 different rooms. First night I stayed in a double with my husband. Then for a few nights a family suite with my sister and mother. And then the last night a double again with my sister. (We were all taking turns to visit my sick grandfather in hospital and we travelled down from Nottinghamshire at different times in the week) So the cons. 1. Hotter than the surface of the sun! In every room I stayed in. So so so hot. A little card placed on the table in each room explaining about British summer and hot rooms. A fan in each room to try and help. But basically moving hot air around. I spent one night moving my camp bed from wall to wall to try and find some cool air. 2. Showers that did not shower. Honestly I could pee faster and warmer than the showers. In all 3 rooms. Awful awful showers. Thankfully a cold shower was ok given the heat but a little more than a drip drip would be good. 3. rooms that just make no sense. Literally no sense at all. Fist double room was ok. It was a standard double room all be it with a bathroom where the door wouldn't shut when you were sat on the loo. Second family room was a big as an airport terminal. It made zero sense. A massive empty space with enough room for other double beds but instead it had 2 camp beds and a tiny bathroom that was almost added as an extra thought. 4 the food here was appalling. Truely appalling. Breakfast- I ordered a light breakfast while my mum and sister ordered the full cooked one. I was watched like a hawk in case I stole sausage! Not only that but what was cooked was soggy and floppy. Only good thing was I ordered light breakfast so I could at least have fresh toast. 5. Not one member of staff spoke one word of English. Not normally a worry for me at all. It's Bournemouth and the university had brought lot and lots of exchange students but not one member of staff understood anything we said. At all. It was like Mr tumble and makaton whenever we needed to talk to anyone! 6. It was loud. Very very loud. Last room we stayed in all night we could hear the pub on the corner and the DJ. So loud we could repeat him word for word. 7. Camp beds! I mean Rock hard lumpy camp beds. Never again will I make my kids sleep on them while I have the comfy double. (a stretch at comfy but more comfy anyway) All in all it was a bit pants. The view from the family suite we had was lovely and it was nice to come home to that view but everything else was rubbish. It did feel like some of the staff were doing the best they could do with what they were given. It was like they wanted to be the best hospitality but just didn't have the resources. Would stay again but only if I had a voucher or a deal on Collapse

I have never in my 23 years of gracing this planet been a believer in hell. That is until I stayed in room 402 of this Travelodge where the fiery depths of hell were very much my reality for approximately 12 hours. Upon opening the door I was hit by a wall of what I can only describe as blistering lava. Immediately, I struggled towards the window to crack it open in hopes of letting in a welcome breeze; what I got was more comparable to an asthmatic blowing on my face after losing the 200m at sports day. Luckily, there was a desk fan which assisted in blowing the hot air around my room into some kind of fire tornado. Don't get me wrong, when booking a fairly inexpensive room in a Travelodge, I am not expecting luxury. But equally what I am not expecting, is waking up in the middle of the night and my first instinct being to check my body for third degree burns. Honestly, I cannot put into words how hot it was in there. Everything was clean and the staff were nice, though. I didn't try any of the food but rumour has it they serve cheesy garlic bread until 6am, so that's pretty decent. Collapse

Extremely hot no AC. If you suffer from asthma then I would not recommend this hotel as the hotel offer 1 fan per room which was full of dust and no air at all in the room. Staff are rude and disrespectful. Incorrect sign on food labelled vegetarian but actually pork. If you are a vegetarian I would never recommend eating breakfast from there as you can not trust them.. absolutely disgusted worst experience ever and would never recommend this hotel to any one.
