My wife and I stayed for 3 nights, last weekend, Room 325. The Room Booked well in advance, so we were disappointed to find we had one of the smallest rooms available, info from the Fire Info plan on the door. The room was small. A lot of issues/problems with the room. One bed frame was broken, so when you turned, everything creaked. The heating came on at 06.00 am and the radiator banged and banged. It also did it at 18.00 approx. The carpet near the tea/coffee tray was discolored from t-bags missing the tray and landing on the floor. Not a big deal but not a great sight. Biggest problem was the window. Our room faced out to hotel front, where the main road intersection was. Traffic went on all night and the single glazed glass was not sufficient. Went to reception the following morning to see if we could get a move. We were told that only one room was free ( ! ) and that was over the ballroom and a function was booked in, and would run till 02.30.. It was not worth the effort, we stayed where we were. The Bar. After a meal out we returned to the Tower and decided to have a cocktail before retiring. We ordered two Cosmopolitans and took our seats. We waited and waited.... After 29 minutes, ( we made a call after ordering) , we decided to leave it. Called the barman and told him we were off, he told us the drinks had arrived, and there was some problem locating an ingredient !! and put down one Cosmopolitan .... we told him it was two, went off, came back and said it would only be moments as the original barman made a mistake, Sad part is that the cocktails were very nice... Bar Food For lunch, we ordered a Burger and a soup, as we were told it would not take long. No problem. Five minutes or so pass and a soup arrives and as given to a table two away from us. A few minutes later our server arrives with my burger, and asks where the soup is ?. We told him one went to the other table..., Said he would get another one and off he went. Came back and told us they were out of soup !!, but he would go to the other kitchen/chef and get another one.. we told him not to bother as we would share the burger, but he went off anyway. Another time passes and he brings back new soup. He did apologise, and we understand it was not his fault, but wasn't the greatest , both of us eating a burger and a soup at different times. There is room for improvement in a lot of areas. Not our best experience. Would have given 2.5 if it was available. John Collapse

I recently stayed in the Tower Hotel as a mini break away with my partner. We were both a little disappointed in the hotel. Our bed was not comfortable and both of us had a bad night's sleep due to it and the lack of soundproofing within the hotel. Both the traffic on the street and a man playing a guitar below was were very loud. On the other hand all staff were very friendly and it was the ideal location for us. Collapse

The Tower Hotel is centrally located with car park and many bedrooms with River Suir views (others are located at the back of the Hotel). Recently new owners bought the Hotel and they seem to have some good ideas for the future, so there will be exciting times ahead. It was nice to see wallpaper on the walls, taking away the previous grey colour throughout and many of the bedrooms will be renovated next year. The Hotel was looking tired in places. The onsite leisure centre is a bonus if you're wanting to stay fit or just want a refreshing swim. The bedrooms are average in size, hospitality tray is provided, our bathroom had shower over bath so nice to have a choice. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed a good nights sleep each evening. The food in the main bar is quite nice, plenty of choice. Breakfast on our last stay was much better than previous stays, we think because it was mid week so not as manic. A good choice at breakfast with fresh fruit, juices, pancakes and yoghurts as well as traditional Irish breakfast you can help yourself to. Looking forward to returning. Collapse
