Myself and my family stayed in this hotel for the weekend while attending The Winterval Festival. While this is a nice hotel it is of a certain vintage. The big Function room, badly planned seating area with large wooden unusable platforms taking up most of the space, type vintage. Generally its a bit tired. The rooms are fine, clean and comfortable. My room was situated at the front of the hotel with a beautiful view of the river, however, the noise from the nightclub across the road, very loud Carol singing from a group of revellers at 4am was not so nice. Generally there is noise outside at all times. The staff in general were helpful and friendly with one major exception. There is a Bartender in the Adelphi Bar, an older man (I won't say gentleman) with grey hair wearing a white shirt, who if u are a woman ordering a drink at the bar, avoid him at all cost. I stood waiting my turn to be served, he ignored me and served every man beside, behind and around me. When eventually I said, excuse me I'm next he just laughed, spoke over my head and served the man behind me. I would have complained if I could have found a manager. The two girls in reception were good and did their best but as this was such a busy weekend they were snowed under and you had to wait at least 20 mins to check in/out or with a query. I feel that there should have been extra receptionists put on for the weekend that was in it. Also the Carpark is small and fills up very quickly, this happened to a number of our party and they were advised they would just have to find another carpark themselves. Be warned. Breakfast is good with good variety, Its a self service but you have to order Tea/Coffee from the waitress which is slightly confusing. The seating is very cramped and tight due to large wooden platform in middle of the room taking up space, perhaps they should consider removing this? This hotel is in a great location, walking distance from everything and easily accessible from Trains. Although generally my stay here was fine I don't think I would stay here again should I return to Waterford. Collapse

Myself and my son stayed in the Tower Hotel Waterford at the beginning of December to attend the Winterval festivities. The hotel staff were absolutely amazing from booking to checking out. Every staff member at reception, bar, restaurant, pool, cleaners etc went above and beyond to make our stay amazing! The food in the restaurant and the bar was great as was the extensive buffet breakfast. Everything in town is walking distance so you can just park your car (for free) when you arrive and not worry about driving around town. We are 100% going to make this a tradition every year. My son has asd and can be a handful and not an eye was blinked at his carry on at any point. In fact quite the opposite, they were even more accommodating and helpful. I can not recommend this hotel more. Collapse

I have only given a 1 star review once before. I give it now because the last time I stayed here there was a stag party rampaging through the hotel. The hotel claimed that they had no control over who books in the hotel, missing entirely the point that they had control over stays in the hotel. This time I reminded them of my last stay and asked for a quite room - I got a room directly over a function with music that reverberated over my ear plugs. My office book my accommodation and they won't be booking me into this hotel again. As a note of caution the hotel will be undergoing a MAJOR reconstruction for 18 months so while you might not get music, there will be plenty of other noises to keep you awake. This hotel is ideally located, the rooms are not bad (a bit tired ) but the reception staff let me down. The lunch time food in the restaurant was really nice. After my lunch I was so positive about the hotel. So much is right but yet so much also wrong. They need a good manager to bring the whole thing together. I feel bad grading them as 1 out of 5, but I am also typing this as I listen to a thump, thump of music after specifically asking for a quiet room. There is no excuse other than they just don't care. If they don't care then I don't care about giving them 1 star. Collapse

Stayed here on Sunday 10th December as a treat with my mum for my birthday. Car park was easily accessible at back of hotel, reception staff were efficient and friendly, our room 230 was very comfortable and nicely decorated and very clean, even though we were facing the front of the hotel the traffic noise didn’t bother us. We had lunch in the bar both days and it was lovely, we also had dinner that evening in the bar, I had Cajun chicken on a Waterford blaa, homemade chunky chips and salad, was huge so generous portions. Gotta give shout out to Joe and the young lad in the bar with the glasses (didn’t catch his name) for their friendliness and sense of humor, certainly gave us a few smiles, breakfast in the morning was the usual full Irish buffet, cereals, fruits, juices etc, there was also a menu so if you want something a little bit different you can find it there. Overall a lovely pleasant stay, would def recommend it and would stay here again if I’m in Waterford. Collapse
Clean and quiet

We had a room at the end of the hall at the back of the hotel, along side the river. It was very quiet. Room was dated but clean and good for a nights stay while travelling. We kept the window open for fresh air and it still was quiet.
