Overnight stay here was very pleasant. Hotel in a great location with free car park at the rear. Reception was efficient and helpful and offered to give us directions if required. My room was on the 3rd floor .. great view of the Tower and river... unfortunately not such a great day weather wise! Room was clean and plenty big enough for two bathroom modern and had everything you needed. Breakfast choice was fab lots of hot food to choose from great variety of fresh fruit yoguart, cereals and even a machine that makes fresh pancakes. Will definitely stay here again. Collapse

I booked this through booking.com I booked a double inner room with breakfast for two. I ended up traveling alone. There is free parking at the hotel. The reception area is open and bright and the receptionist was friendly and efficient The decor in the hallways were modern and pleasant. The room was a little bit of a let down and it was a bit tired and out dated. The room was also very small so I feel it was more suitable for a single. The bathroom Was also out dated but it was all spotless. I was unable to put down the toilet seat if the toilet paper was on the roll holder. Small thing but a little annoying . Some of the tiles were also cracked see photo. There were tea and coffee facilities and a trouser press. Spare pillow available and complementary toiletries I never made it down to breakfast due to a monumental hang over so I cannot review that. Collapse

Stayed here with my wife on Thursday 9th March. Hotel situated far end of the Quays from the Railway station. Outside Hotel aspect was appealing, looking modern and pleasant to the eye. On checking in we found reception staff to be very friendly and helpful. We were given a room on the first floor, which was spotlessly clean ,beds quite comfortable, and everything supplied to our satisfaction. Threre was function on that night in the Hotel but the music finished at 12 midnight .So we were not disturbed by this. Breakfast next morning was self service ,with plenty of satisfying selections and grilled and fried items .Good coffee ,which is often my yardstick for giving a revue about breakfasts in Hotels. Overall our stay was most pleasant, I must say the staff serving the food were very attentive a professionally trained, as well of course as were the front office people. We will be back, and look forward to our next visit to the Tower... Collapse

I was very disappointed by this hotel. We had booked a 2 night stay using escapes.ie which included bed, breakfast, a 2 course evening meal, use of the leisure facilities and 20% off the spa. We arrived a bit early and were told the room wasn't ready yet so we were able to leave our bags and the receptionist took all our details so when we came back we could just get our room keys, so far so good. When we did get to the room it was basic but clean, the beds were very hard and the TVs was tiny but again things I would get over. It was only later that night that we realised we had not been informed about any of the facilities, where breakfast was, dinner etc, all things that I have come to expect to be told about when I check into a hotel. We found the breakfast room ourselves the next morning and it was lovely, a very good choice of cooked items and fruit, cereal etc. When we went to reception after to inquire about dinner the same receptionist from the day before told us we would have to book it but there was no one available in the restaurant to take our booking at that time. We happened to be in the reception area a few hours later and over heard the same receptionist taking a booking for the restaurant over the phone, when we asked could we book a table she made a smart comment and was very unprofessional, I proceeded to ask about the spa and leisure facilities and got handed a leaflet about the spa and then she turned away from me. There was no one else at reception so this was just complete rudeness on her part, she obviously did not like her job and made it very clear that we were a nuisance in her eyes. The only thing I can say that redeemed the hotel at all was the restaurant. The food was beautiful and the staff bent over backwards to accommodate us, asked us about our stay, recommended places to see around Waterford. Basically they did everything the front of house staff should have been doing. If I had paid full price for this stay I would have been very very disappointed. As it is I will not be going back there again for any price and I would not recommend the hotel to people. Collapse

From the very first day that we walked in the front door of the Tower Hotel to book our wedding nothing was too much for any of the staff in the hotel. We were given loads of information both written and verbal about what we could expect. However, the information didn't cover half of what the team actually do!! Throughout the planning process, Deirdre, Aine and Pat were absolutely phenomenal with all the little things been covered off. While we had thought of a lot of the little things, the staff went above and beyond the call of duty. They even went and purchased Barry's tea bags for the drinks reception after the ceremony. Something I had mentioned in jest but was noted in the plan of the day!! For our meal tasting, we were greeted by the restaurant manager, and the head chef. We were given a personalised menu with our choices of wedding menu on it. It made it very easy to visualise what our guests would be seeing on the big day. On the actual day, Deirdre and the team were amazing. We had built a really good relationship throughout the months of planning and that continued throughout. Our guests were treated with the utmost respect. All food requirements (gluten free, diabetic and dairy free) were met we no problem at all. No fuss was made and everyone was really happy with the food and wine that they had on the night. The team work really really well together and it shows as the whole thing runs seamlessly. The bridal suite is amazing. The views are spectacular and again the service we were given was brillant. We had breakfast delivered to our room the day after the wedding without even having to ask. The bottle of tanora on ice, champagne on ice and the little pieces of food that are dropped to the room was a really nice touch. Overall, we cannot fault this hotel on any of the services that they provide. I would highly recommend it for any weddings or functions. A massive thank you has to be given to all of the staff who made us feel like we were home away from home for our very special day!! Collapse
