Good hotel, great value for money. Clean with excellent staff, very helpful, very well located. It is just a few steps from Rua Liberated, near to lots of bars and restaurants and to plaza de los Restauradores.

At first glance, walking down the road, we noticed the 'Tivoli' writing on the side of a building and made a presumption this was our hotel. As we approached the receptionist she looked at our paper work and simply said you are staying in the Jarmin. this is a 5 star, you are in the 4 star. this immediately bothered me. I do not dress or act in way that would encourage someone to believe I am wealthy, despite being very financially stable, and because of my age and gender the immediate reaction from the receptionist to presume this hotel would not be 'suitable' made me extremely frustrated. This continued as we arrived at the correct hotel. The Receptionist was rude. He also made a point of telling me I had only booked 1 person instead of 2 and then just looked at me as if I was supposed to fix it. It felt as if he enjoyed pointing out an error we had made on the booking, despite it making no difference to our check in process or room. Eventually he just stated repeating ‘no problem, no problem, I change, no problem I change!’ why didn’t he do that in the first place instead of making us feel uncomfortable? I felt as though we were a nuisance and did not feel welcomed by a bright and breezy team. I work for a very large holiday business in the UK that have over 35 holiday parks and therefore train our team to live and breathe positive values and a welcoming culture. This was not what we received here. He then told us that we would be in a twin room (myself and my partner) as a double room was just a preference. After asking why she just said. 'no problem no problem, I change' if it was so simple to change why would he bring it up in the first place? Again we felt like a nuisance. Despite being in the position to book a room in your 5 star hotel for a week, we would much rather choose somewhere that doesn’t judge people on first glance and therefore continue to treat them as second class there on after. The final incident was when someone entered our room in the morning around half past 7, un invited, unannounced and without knocking. After hearing the door open and waking in a daze i was quite worried and scared and then very angry. Luckily our bed was situated around the corner but I imagine after they realised we were in bed, they left as we heard the door close again. This was appalling. We won’t be staying here again. I was on business trip and I spent only one day at this hotel, but it was enough to understand the great quality of their services. Great location in city center. I will keep this hotel in consideration for future trips to Lisbon.

This hotel appears to be the little sister of the Tivoli Lisboa. It is situated off the main road where the big sister is. It is a convenient location, right next to the MRT station, and within walking distance to the city centre and its main attractions. The hotel has a boutique feel to it. The smallish reception lobby, the decor and design, and the personal service. Checking in was a breeze and a pleasant expereince, with helpful and friendly staff. The room was smallish but comfortably furnished. The white and red colour scheme of the room again contributed to its boutique feel. My room had a balcony, which would have been a nice touch during warmer weather. All was not perfect though. You had to pay for the coffee capsules on a pay per use basis. The complimentary toiletries was very basic; just soap and shampoo. The toiletries like toothbrush, tooth paste, shaver, comb, etc, which one expects from hotels, save the budget hotels, were missing. Luckily I brought my toiletry bag along, which I sometimes leave at home when I travel. All these tend to downgrade the general feel of this hotel. I think these are low cost items but they do add up to the impression of a hotel. All in, a good hotel to stay in for its comfort and convenient location, but misses its mark in acquiring a perfect score. Collapse
