The hotel has a charming environment, room and bathroom are of reasonable size, bed comfortable. Furniture old, worn-out and very tiny. You have a small bedside table, very tiny table, and a kind of broom closet with a couple coat hangers. The lack of furniture or shelves make it very hard to lay your stuff and organise yourself. You have to leave your belongings in your suitcase and it is a pain to have to open the suitcase each time you need something. There is no lift, you have to drag your suitcase up and down to get to your room and if you get upstairs room, more luggage dragging up involved. Even to move from the lobby you have to drag your luggage a few steps up and down and no matter how struggling you are, those guys at the lobby will not blink to offer any help. Any noise above your room will travel down to you. Luckily all the residents were quiet at night, sleeping was no problem. Breakfast is not bad. Those young guys at the lobby are quite helpful if you need any information except the old guy who does not seem to know much. The chairs in all rooms can be quite noisy when moved on the hard floor, some felt pads under the chair legs could solved that. The wifi connection can be temperamental. Only one bath towel is available, no face or hand towel. One day, it was a bit warm, I turned the air-con on, but unfortunately it was not efficient at all. I wonder how untenable it must be in this room in summer with such a poor air-conditioning unit. Taxi boats charge 50 euros to take you to the hotel from the train station and going back you have to book a taxi boat which I was not aware of. I have rolled my luggage to the platform where I got dropped before and the taxi boat I waved at asked me if I have booked. So it was rolling the luggage back to the hotel and asked them to book a taxi boat for me. My stay at the hotel was not bad but it could have been better if there were some shelves to lay my stuff. The hotel is old and I think the furniture is older. The bed cripple and even if we asked for a double bed the mattresses were for a single and placed one next to each other. At night it makes a big hole between them and is very unconfortable. At night it was cold and in the wardrobe we had just a wool blanket that was very itchy. In the room smells like chlorine but you get used to it. The internet wireless works very slow. We paid more here a two star hotel for two nights than in Milan and Florence for three nights at a three star hotel. The hotel is very hard to find on the streets of Venice. You can't find a market near the hotel to get water for drink. But this is true for the whole city. You will find only shops where the bottle of water at 500 ml is 2 euro. I really liked the coffee but you have to ask for the good one. Otherwise you have on the table a recipient with a very bad coffee. The breakfast is ok. You have boiled eggs, ham, cheese, butter, honey, sweets, bread, milk, yogurt and cereals that you can fill your stomach. Collapse

Great hotel, great location and great staff. This hotel is in one of the neighborhoods of venice, so it is not over run by tourists and cruisers and gives you a bit of a chance to experience local bars and restaurants. Yet it is about a 20 minute walk or 5 minute water bus ride to the rialto bridge or st marks square. Best location I can think of. The hotel is extremely clean and well cared for. The owners are the family and it shows. While the rooms are small ( just as you would expect in Europe), they are comfortable with an excellent bed, nice updated bathrooms and crisp clean sheets. The TV is the smallest I have ever seen, but if you are worried about your tv size in venice you have a problem. The lobby is venetian quaint and comfortable to relax in. The breakfast is a nice European style meat , cheese, bread and sweets. You can eat in the dining room or in the walled back courtyard. The folks at the front desk were very helpful with directions and advise. And when our delayed bags showed up after our departure, they took the extra steps to ship them to our next location. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. If you are visiting Venice you must stay here. Oh, did I mention that the price is excellent Too! Collapse

❤️ loved Tivoli! Allowed to stay on island versus mestre, which would not have allowed us to experience Venice at night! Basic but clean, super ACondition in a humid city, was awesome! Breakfast super. It was a haven for my toddler and 8 year old weary from walking, then we were able to keep going. Would come back!! Fresh immaculate towels, clean (tiny!) shower/bathroom, we were lucky not to have shared bathroom. Very close to train station (10min walk) easy to get lost in venice but hotel is well situated so we were at station easily. Collapse
