The hotel was covered in scaffolding, but it didn't detract from the view of the marina or the beach. The staff were lovely as was the food. Our room was quite large and roomy with two double beds and though the wardrobe and drawer space was enough for the two of us for the weekend, it wouldn't have been enough for more than 2 people for more than 2 nights. It was clean and comfortable, i don't need anything more. Collapse

We stayed here as a family last weekend, we choose this hotel as it allowed us all to stay in the one room which was what was needed. The hotel was lovely but it is having intensive repair work done so unfortunately our lovely view of the marina which I was so excited about was blocked by scaffolding. The rooms were clean and tidy but I do wish they could have been a little bigger as literally moving around the beds was an issue. The staff were welcoming, the breakfast nice and all not a bad stay. Though i am sure once the work has been completed it will be better as the scaffolding was rather intense and i was gutted about my view. Collapse
What my wife and I discovered hopefully is the sign of things to come!

My wife and I stayed at the Swansea Marriott for two nights on the 9th and 10th of March 2017, upon arrival we discovered the hotel encased in scaffolding. (nothing indicated on the website despite booking a superior room with a marina view) After which we were warmly greeted by Sophie (Receptionist) despite the late hour quickly and efficiently and made our way to our room 306. Upon entering the room was clean and set out well, however we discovered a chip in the sink of the bathroom that had not been rectified or noticed by the hotel. This really summaries the overall feel of the hotel as its looking dated and needs investment (according to the company website the hotel was last refurbished in 2007). In other areas outside our room and near the lift the carpet was thread bare and in fact the newest thing that we saw in the hotel was the guest lift which according to the sign inside was installed in 2017! The thing that made our stay bearable was the staff in the hotel for the entire stay, they were all warm, friendly and provided good levels of service from the breakfast to advise about the local area etc. Our hope is that scaffolding is a positive sign of investment in the hotel and we hope this carries on through to the inside of the hotel as well, because if the hotel was the same standard as the staff inside it would only reflect positively on the hotel and its future. A rather long review, but please bear with me. Firstly, the hotel is shrouded with scaffolding and although you can book a room with a view, that view is partly obscured by the scaffolding. The hotel should really let guests know this during the booking process! Secondly, I booked two rooms online and then immediately telephoned the hotel to ‘warn’ them that one of our party was 95 years old and would not use the elevator due to a phobia, can we have a room on a low floor? I was assured a 1st floor room would not be a problem and a note would be added to our booking, ‘just remind us when you check in’. On check in we were allocated rooms on the third floor as a note had not been added to the booking. With some reshuffling we were eventually relocated to the 2nd floor and with support from us, my elderly mother-in-law was able to walk up two flights of stairs. However, by the end of our two day stay, she was beginning to struggle. Note to self: next time a hotel agree to a request, get it in writing. Thirdly, the connecting doors between rooms, really need to be soundproofed. We could clearly hear the children in the next room (who were not particularly loud) chatting with their parents. And children often wake up early! The superior marine view rooms we booked, were spacious, clean and comfortable although a little ‘tired’ and in need of some tlc (what looked like mould above the window and a nasty stain on the ceiling). The hotel breakfast was of a good standard and there was sufficient variety. We often stay in Marriott hotels in worldwide locations, but I am afraid the Swansea Marina Marriott does not quite come up to the standard we have grown to expect. A nice beach front location, and friendly staff, but rather expensive when you consider the scaffolding, and noise disturbance through the connecting doors. Would I stay here again? I’m really not sure. Collapse

Stayed for 1 night in the Marriott which currently is under construction on the outside. Room is ok, bit worn out and can do with a refresh. Shower unfortunately in the bath. Nothing special but ok for 1 night business.
