Our room was small but had everything we needed - the shower was great, we had a nice Nescafé coffee machine and lots of wardrobe space. The bed was comfortable but walls slightly thin so we were woken up a couple of times by people returning to their room in the early hours. The staff were very friendly and checking in and out was a breeze. The jacuzzi on the roof was perfect for soaking your feet at the end of a busy day walking around the city. The location is great - I'd recommend a visit to Bosque Palermo, the restaurant a few metres to the left of the hotel on the corner. The paella is very good - food and drink was very reasonably priced. Collapse

Great stay at this hotel. Not far to walk to the tour buses that take you around the city, about 10 minutes. Hard Rock Cafe and La Ramblas near the square ( by the tour buses )10 mins walk. Didn't have breakfast but looked very good. Had a lovely English breakfast over the road at SOL cafe. 9 euros, the breakfast at the hotel was 16 euros. Lots of cafes and restaurants nearby. Small Supermarket on the corner before you get to hotel. We had a room at the back as the main road side was possibly noisy. Although there was some building work going on nearby so weekdays was quite noisy from 8am. We asked for a quiet room which it was as away from main road, cars go very fast!! Pool was a bonus although not heated, used the jacuzzi. Nice view from there. Reception staff very friendly and will tell you how to get to places. Room was very nice, spacious and clean, huge shower which was great , no bath. I would recommend this hotel. The airport bus (5.90 euros) dropped us off nearby. Just ask for the Universistad stop ( University). Collapse

First I'll start by saying that I don't like leaving negative reviews and I do feel a little bad for giving this hotel a less than good review because the staff are friendly enough, which a lot of people seem to have found. That said, I can't believe this is rated as a 4 star hotel. The last time we stayed in Barcelona we were in a 3 star which was far superior in room size, facilities, tidiness of decor etc. The location is ok. It's near a Metro stop and the bus from the airport stops near by but there are other hotels that are closer to the centre - including the aforementioned 3 star, so I'm afraid even that doesn't save it for us. Another mention for the staff, they did kindly leave a bottle of Cava in our room on the first night, though it was too late to drink it by the time we got back to find it. So we had it the next evening - we took it up to the pool (as there is no bar up there) - but it then spent the rest of our stay sitting empty on the small desk in our room, with the two glasses and ice bucket for of water! The hotel informed me before we travelled that all the rooms were the same class, i.e no upgrades available. We arrived to find a tiny room, with a window facing inwards looking at a wall and some drainage pipes etc. Tired looking decoration. The only thing going for the room was the size of the shower room, even that needed a touch up. The pool on the roof is nothing more than ok I'm afraid. The view is mainly of the backs and roofs of other buildings. You can see a few landmarks but it's nothing special - again our 3 star hotel on our previous visit won here too. All that is on the roof with the pool and jacuzzi is a vending machine. No bar, no service. Speaking of bar... it claims to have one but the tiny excuse for a bar in the lobby area had a tiny selection of spirits and I never saw anyone behind it to serve. Based on our experience I'm struggling to figure out how this hotel can possibly be a 4 star hotel. As friendly as the staff were we won't be returning - in fact, when we left we weren't even asked if we had enjoyed our stay. Another note is that I won't be booking a Lastminute 'Top Secret' hotel again which lured me in with 'City Centre 4 star hotel with roof top pool, jacuzzi and great views'. If they had a way to complain I would but I can't see any... All in all there was nothing about this hotel that said to us that it was 4 star, I'd say more like 3 star and only just. Collapse
Great location for being fairly central

NOT THE BEST START (FIRST THE BAD BIT ) We were on 20th anniversary and 60th birthday which the hotel knew about. This is a 4 star hotel On arrival WHAT WE GOT WAS A BOX ROOM. "Room 206" The room was TINY. The double bed was against the wall?which meant you had to climb over the other to get in bed . No room to put your case down. Just a walk way round the bed. THE WINDOW LOOKED OUT ONTO INTERNAL AREA WITH EXTRACTION PIPES . NO VIEW AND NO REAL LIGHT. WE GOT NO FRESH AIR FROM THIS WINDOW. The bathroom was a joke not a bath just a shower and no room to move. I complained to the staff who said there was nothing they could do as they were full and I should see the manager next day.My wife was very upset at this stage so as it was late we went out for something to eat and all we did was talk about how bad the room was. Next day I was told by staff they could move us to another room maybe a bit bigger but the same view. I said this NOT acceptable. I showed them a picture of the web site and what we had expected. We were shown a room which people were still in and they said they would look to move us but no promises. We stayed away from the hotel all day and I started checking that there were room available in other hotels . In the evening they had moved us to a better room overlooking the street and we decided to stay. THE GOOD BIT THE STAFF ARE REALLY GREAT and friendly they talked to us and told us how to get around on the buses and metro. We asked for where to eat and they told us where to go for our special evening. On my birthday the gave us a bottle of bubbly and our second room was really clean and we had a view of the street and a small balcony with fresh air coming in. The breakfast was average and they could have done better withe hot stuff only one staff working his little heart out. More of a premier inn than 4 star SORRY BUT NOT MY FIRST CHOICE OF HOTEL DUE TO UPSETING FIRST ROOM. Collapse

Our stay here was very ok. The hotel is nice but we where a bit unfortunate with our room. The room was a little "depressive" with dark interior and no view. The breakfast was very good! The hotel itself has a very nice location and the price is good. The pool looks bigger in the picture but its totally ok. The view from the roof is nice and you get an intimate view into the lives of the citizens. Would stay here again, but with another room. The service was also ok. Collapse
