Friendly helpful, staff. Good English. Dinner taken as an extra. Excellent value at about £8 . Three meats offered, including rabbit and duck as well as roast lamb stew etc. Fish every night. Buffet style so could choose as much or as little and come back for more. Went in both swimming pools, both small but ok for cooling off. No gardens and limited outdoor space. Entertainment on 3 nights but not till late. Room a bit past it's best, especially the T V. All very clean and tidy. Collapse

I took my mum here for 5 days (4 nights) and we had a lovely time. The hotel is situated about 10-15mins walk from Bugibba square which isn't too bad and where you can find a lot of restaurants, excursions and other stuff to do. Around the hotel is a bit out dated and not much around apart from a few little stores. I must recommend the little store opposite the Qawra church which do pastizzi's (Maltese pastry) for only €0.30. The hotel is exactly what you would expect from a 3* hotel. The room had most of what we needed which included a wardrobe, dryer, sofa, chairs, TV, shower gel & shampoo. There is a safe but have to pay €1.50 a day to use. We also had 2 balconies which was nice. There however was no fridge, iron & kettle. The beds were the comfiest but were still okay. The rooftop pool was nice but pretty small and not really used for a swim as far too small but a lovely view nether the less. Wasn't too clean either but great place to catch a tan. They also have another pool by reception which we didn't actually use. The breakfast was okay but very repetitive as expected. What was included was breads, typical full English, ham, cheese, croissants, cakes, yogurt & cereal. Could of done more variety and a bit more choice if possible. Had dinner once at the hotel which was only €11 which was pretty good for a buffet style breakfast which served plenty of different vegetables, chicken, tuna medallions, pasta, rice & cakes too. In terms of Malta I definitely recommend taking a tour of Gozo and ESPECIALLY Camino island (blue lagoon) as this was amazing!!! There's plenty of people selling them for around €20-€25 by the Square. Transport is fairly cheap too as it's €1.50 either way or you can get a travel card for €21 for 7 days unlimited which is recommended for sure if staying for a week. Wifi is free but in the room wasn't the best but we found it better around the hotel in general. Overall a very nice holiday and I would recommend Sunflower hotel as a good value for money if you don't mind walking 10-15mins to get to the centre. The staff were also kind and polite. You get what you pay for but still good :) Tip: having a fridge in the rooms would really benefit especially in the summer along with varying the breakfast Collapse

Stayed at this hotel for 10 nights. Very clean and rooms were great. Could do with a little more storage for clothes but was manageable. Hotel staff very friendly and could not do enough for you when assisting. They also had sense of humour and made our stay enjoyable. Breakfast a little disappointing as same every day but was ok. Hotel situated just 10 mins from centre and beach front but easy to get around and find ur way. Would have preferred hotel nearer the centre as very dark to walk back at night due to Street lighting however was not an issue that would have stopped us staying again. Outside pool was ok but closed after 1 day due to maintenance and never opened again during our stay but had indoor pool that was available little small but nice Overall had good holiday and would recommend this hotel. We had to split our stay in Malta between two hotels because of the 'lost and found' music festival. We spent three days in the Sunflower hotel between the 13/04 and 16/04 we were delighted with the hotel, the staff were just amazing could not do enough for you, they were pleasant and helpful and eager to please. The rooms were nicely laid out and very clean and the maids were in every day. The only problem with the hotel was the actual location, but that was my issue because I had a sore foot and found it was just a bit far out for me, however once my foot has healed I would be more than happy to stay there again. The management run this hotel very well and i think considering some hotels we have stayed in on Malta this would be deserving of a four star listing. Collapse

We spend seven nights in Sunflower hotel in Qawra and it was great. The hotel itself is a bit old, simple and not very friendly for guest with childrens, I guess. But for active people, who just want a clean and quiet room and a tasty breakfast, it's perfect. Free wifi included ;) The hotel has not many freetime facilities. There are some animation programs like karaoke etc., but we didn't visit any of them - I'm not even sure, where it took place, the building was a bit like a maze for me :). We didn't try even the bar in the ground floor. What we did visit was the pool, which is situated on the roof of the hotel and is very small and only about 1m deep. Whole pool area was a bit weird. It seems like they don't clean it at all, there was just one closed bar (looked like it was closed for whole season at least). I felt like I am not even supposed to be there - which was a truly cool feeling, I have to admit :) Hotel is situated in a bit dirty part of the St. Paul's Bay, but safe. The closest "beach" was about 10-15 minutes away (walk). 10 minutes to Buggiba Bay bus stop, from which goes many buses to Valletta or Cirkewwa or to some sandy beaches (Ghajn Tuffieha) Collapse
