My first time to Croatia and I am amazed by the beauty of this country. After a three day stay in the spectacular city center of Dubrovnik, my two teenage kids and I came to Sun Gardens for a short stay at the beach. We could not have picked a better place. The resort is extremely nicely located, with breath taking views on the turquoise sea, isles and hills. The apartment was spacious, clean and well equipped. There are several nice pools, but the sea is definitely the best place to go for a swim. The resort has many restaurants with different themes (steakhouse, mediterranean, pasta etc.) and the meals are reasonably priced. There is a supermarket with a good selection, including fresh fruits and vegetables and a bakery. Staff is extremely friendly. Collapse

This is a fabulous hotel which exceeded our expectations. Each room faced the beautiful Adriatic ocean with a view that took your breath away. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. The resort has an outstanding spa, three swimming pools and a variety of excellent restaurants. What makes this an outstanding hotel is the staff who have the most amazing approach to customer service and cannot do enough to help. Total paradise! Collapse

We stayed in. 2 bed apartment on a self catering basis as we had a young child with us and family. The apartment was a great size, modern (dishwasher etc) exceptionally clean and 2 fantastic ensuite bathrooms/shower rooms and a third guest toilet. The rooms were kept spotlessly clean and the linen and towels changed regularly. We had an issue with the air con in one bedroom on arrival (11pm) but maintainace arrived within 10mins of being called and fixed it. The garden patio was of a large size and with plenty of furniture. The complex is spread over a hill running down to the sea with 3 pools, one for adults only so if you have mobility issues you have to think about your route around but the blocks do have lifts as does the attached hotel. The sea is beautiful but pebbly so bring beach shoes. Complimentary pool towels are also supplied a great plus. On the private beach there is a bar and numerous other sun beds and if you take the trip to Dubrovnic you can go out by boat from the private harbour and return on the shuttle bus. You reserve your seats so there's no scrambling to get a place. As others have mentioned the food and drink are not cheap but if you have a car there are plenty of shops around but not really in walking distance apart from a bakery at the top of the access road. Due to baby sitting for our grandson we ordered the room service. I thoroughly recommend it as,it arrived hot and was very tasty with a good choice of options, I had beef chow main and my wife a mushroom pasta. All very fresh. I would go back again at a shot. Also the free internet does not appear to have any blind spots and was good for streaming Netflix etc. Collapse
Nice environment but easy to not move from it

Certainly a well kept and friendly place to be with great facilities but unless you are more determined and adventurous you will spend all your money and time at this resort or on heir organised taxi/bus services and event/trips which are expensive. I would recommend you bring a car here so you can be more independent and get to more local and original restaurants that are much better value for money. Collapse

We booked this hotel when it was part of Radisson group. Closer to the travel date when we got to know it was just Sun gardens, we decided to keep the booking and stay there anyway. The resort is located 15 mins drive from the city.. the place is huge worth several pools, restaurants etc. On arrival we were told we have been upgraded to a room with better view. The room had a great sea view but was a wheelchair accessible room so not the best bathroom (lacking bathtub). When I complained about this we were shown an option of another room at the very end of the corridor with not a nice view and told this was the only option. We didn't believe this as the hotel didn't seem full, but gave up and decided to keep a view with better view over the other. Except for this the resort was great to stay at.. but it would have been difficult to move around without a car. There are some very nice restaurants in neighbouring villages and we'll priced. We spent 3 nights at the resort, great pools and a nice pebble beach patch. The breakfast is great but lacks local food, which I would have expected from a resort of this quality. Overall, a very nice place to relax and stay.. great location overlooking the islands and the Adriatic & helpful staff. Collapse
