I stayed in a suite for two nights while I was in the city for a friend's birthday party. The room was spotless and very quiet. The bathroom was large with a huge shower, and the bed was very comfortable. I stayed on the 7th floor. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5 rating is because the breakfast was lukewarm or cold on both mornings. Collapse

I was quite impressed at how central the Staybridge Suites are, they were just around the corner from the office I was visiting. Check in was quick and simple, and with a gorgeous giant cookie given on arrival. I was quite impressed with my room too, it was very clean and a decent size. I was only a bit disappointed that it only had a chair in the room, a sofa would have been nice, but as I was only here for one night that didn't matter too much. I decided to make my own meal in the room. Now even though the website states each room has an oven, all I found was a microwave with a grill. There was an instruction booklet on how to work it, but unfortunately, I didn't study engineering so was a bit baffled by it. So all I could do was use the microwave on it. There was an induction hob too. The kitchenette also has a dishwasher and there are two dishwasher tablets in the cupboard under the sink. The bathroom was a decent size and the shower was quite good. Breakfast in the morning was very nice too, although the plates are incredibly small, so you either have to make a few visits or pile everything on. But on the plus side, there are not too many apartments I have been to where you can get a cooked breakfast. If you are after food and don't want to venture to the shops, there is a 'pantry' by reception. You simply pick the food you want to cook, fill in a form and hand it in to reception, the cost is added to your bill. The bed was very comfortable too and I managed to get a really good night sleep. All in all a very nice place to stay and I would stay again. Collapse

My partner and I stay here quite regularly if we have conventions in the Birmingham area, as it is only 5 minutes walk from new street, moor street and snow hill stations. It’s a gorgeous hotel with tremendous and helpful staff. Breakfast is included and there is a wide range of hot and cold food so something for everyone. Rooms are clean, modern and fitted with the essentials (such as pans, plates, cutlery and the like). If you don’t want to cook there are nearby restaurants and takeaways that will also deliver to the hotel. 10/10 - we will always return to this fantastic place. Collapse

We stay here quite a bit and always enjoy the friendly staff and great location, literally 1 minute from the Bullring and other shops. The suites are a good size and include kitchenette, which we don't often use, but good to have anyway. When we stayed this time, we noticed a strong curry smell in our room, which was difficult to get rid of because you can't open any windows. One good thing about the hotel, apart from the location, is that it is always pretty quiet, no matter what floor you're on. You can't say that about many hotel these days! The beds are very comfortable, but the first night we stayed, we both woke up with crook necks because all 4 pillows were lumpy (which has not been our experience previously). We asked reception to change them, and within 30 mins, someone came up and swapped all 4 without question, so good customer service. The breakfast provides lots of options from cereal, to toast, to continental breakfast to full English and is all self-service. The only thing I would improve about this, and I have mentioned this before, is that the bacon can be quite fatty and more importantly, the sausages are awful cheap things. If they spent a bit more money on these two things, then I'd definitely give it 5 stars, but there's no excuse for cheap sausages and bacon! Collapse
