We stayed here for 2 nights leaving this morning, 17th September 2017. From arriving to, sadly, departing this was a fantastic experience. I wish I remembered the names but I hope the staff read this and recognise themselves. Booked in by a smashing young man on Fri about 2.15pm. So attentive and helpful. We needed the air-conditioning set so that we could use a light bit no air-conditioning as my partner has tinnitus and it was causing an issue. Lovely lady with glasses and darker skin had this sorted within about 15 mins. A young lady of about 5' asked about us seeing a show at the theatre and then asked us on our last day how it went. All these lovely people stood out as being truly happy in thier work and caring about us. Always happy and greetings us every time we walked by. This wasn't 'put on', it was very genuine. The whole place is immaculate clean and well run. We couldn't fault the room. Breakfast was great and constantly being checked by staff and surfaces cleaned. I can't praise this place enough. Will definitely use again. It is very close to the NCP car park 5 mins and being your ticket validated in reception gives reduced parking costs. Also this is only 5 mins from the Bullring so very central. If you turn right out of the building at night it is a rough area. But if you turn left then Louise Vuitton is just along the road and then you're into the better areas. Collapse

With a rare babysitter, we decided to try a night out in Birmingham. We got a decent price on a hotel price comparison website. The downstairs foyer was modern, and you go to the second floor to check in reception. Our room was on the 9th floor, and it was very nice. There was a decent amount of space. Most of our view was obscured by another large building but there was some nice things to look at. The bed was comfortable and we hardly heard any noise. But I was disappointed by the shower, it took ages to get the right temperature. My partner likes it really hot, and couldn't get the desired temperature. I like to have a warm shower, then have it really cold to wake up. Sadly there was was no cold option. There was a minor leak with the bathroom tap, and also the kitchen tap. The breakfast was average, but a decent standard you get for a breakfast buffet that has been sat around for a while. They had soya milk, but no fried eggs. I'm not a massive fan of pork sausages, so was excited about the veggie alternatives. However the vegetable sausages lacked the desired bang factor. On check out, they offered £9.50 parking on our £24 cost on the daily rate. There were multiple free magazines to choose from. Check in and check out staff were friendly. I would rate our stay 9 out of 10. It is nearer to a four star, than five. We would stay there again if we revisit Birmingham. Collapse

The Staybridge Suites are a 5 minuite walk from New Street Station and is on the tram line for those looking to make onward travel in Birmingham. The Hotel's entrance is opposite the House Of Fraser on the main road. At check in I was greeted by a very keen receptionist and made to feel like home, with the receptionist offering her local knowledge. Rooms aren't cleaned over the weekend unless you ask at check-in - which was great as I wanted to make the most of the weekend having a lie-in! The rooms are spacious, equipped with Air Conditioning, Hob, Dishwasher, Microwave and TV. This was my first time staying in a hotel that had cooking facilities and I would do this again as it offers you some freedom in what you choose to eat. (Tesco has two stores within walking distance). Breakfast was a buffet and had an excellent variety of items that varied each day. The breakfast team was highly efficient, cleaning tables and restocking food. They even offered bags to allow you to take items to your room! I normally stay in budget chain hotels but this hotel was the best value over the August Bank Holiday weekend. I know if I'm looking for a Hotel in Birmingham this will be the first place I'll look!
