The St Pancras Renaissance London Hotel features Gothic Revival metalwork, gold leaf ceilings, hand-stencilled wall designs and the grand staircase - still as dazzling as the day the hotel opened in 1873.
Designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott to receive travellers through St Pancras Station, the former Midland Grand Hotel offered its guests a world of grandeur, luxury and fantasy behind its fairytale red facade. In 2011, the doors of this luxury hotel in London open once again, offering guests a world of timeless elegance and modern comforts.

To start with the hotel building is incredible, and its location is perfect - it is right next door to Kings Cross Station. The reception staff were extremely helpful, it was a quick and easy check in process. The reception area is absolutely gorgeous but very modernised, then as soon as you get to the chambers wing, its dimmer lighting, more intimate sort of Victorian style. Its almost like you've walked into another time. I absolutely adore the interior decor, especially in the room. My husband and I stayed in a chambers room, we couldn't compliment it enough! Staying in the chambers room gave us private access to the chambers wing, where everything is complimentary; buffets, treats, drinks. The service in the chamber wing was excellent! All the staff were such a delight, extremely friendly and super attentive, especially Andrea and Nisha. We felt very spoilt during our stay. Will definitely be back to stay here again soon. Collapse

I recently stayed in this hotel for 3 nights during a quick visit to London. The hotel is co-located with St Pancras station and next door to Kings Cross. The hotel itself has been beautifully restored. I stayed in a Chambers Club room which apart from one issue was very comfortable. Staff were generally helpful and efficient with special praise for the excellent and friendly staff in the Chambers Club. Unfortunately when I checked in I discovered the aircon in my room was not working and the temperature of my room stuck in the mid twenties. On reporting this an engineer was dispatched to my room to try to remedy the situation. The engineer had to thoroughly clean the aircon filter which was filthy and then disappeared to see if he could fix the aircon at the central control . Nothing changed so I contacted the reception and asked to speak with the duty manager. I was offered a fan for my room or alternatively I could move to a downgraded room elsewhere in this building. By this time it was almost midnight and I was very tired after a long flight so I opted to just stay and put up with the uncomfortable room temperature. I asked to speak to the hotel manager re the problem the following day. No follow up on this problem ever occurred. No sign of the hotel manager. No follow up from any staff at all. I find this very disappointing given the otherwise excellent standard of this hotel. Collapse

We stayed in Junior Suite overlooking the station (by special request, which was evidently well noted). Staff excellent, especially in the Chambers Club where everything from coffee to light lunches, cocktails and spirits are complimentary to selected guests and their visitors too (suite guests etc). Room stunning, breakfast good, coffee the best I've tasted. It was the first leg of our Honeymoon and the hotel acknowledged this at every offering, I won't say exactly what they did for us as to not set a precedent for them, but suffice to say it was both fitting and very generous. 100% go again, always in the old original part of the hotel. Note one thing, this is a busy, expensive hotel in an iconic international railway station, so it is not silent, it is a living building which has noises, didn't effect our sleep one bit though. Stayed here on Friday Night in the Barlow Wing in a "Superior King Bedroom". The building itself is obviously stunning however once you exit the main reception and head for the room you may as well be in a Premier Inn... the only real difference walking through the corridors is the fact they aren't purple! The room itself was satisfactory, nothing special and the view of the station roof at 60 degree angle left a lot to be desired. The bathroom was fairly compact and unfortunately for us the hot water in the sink didn't work; the only way we could get hot water was via the shower/bath; I didn't notice this until late at night and as we were only staying a night never reported it until the morning. All in all once in the room you would have no idea you are staying in such an elegant building. We had full breakfast included in the tariff and I mistakenly assumed that you could have that as room service (stayed at Home House the night before and it was no problem at all); unfortunately this was not the case as I discovered when I received the invoice! In effect I had paid for the Full English in the tariff and was then charged £65.00 for the privilege of having it bought to the room! ... I queried it at checkout but to be honest it was my mistake... I should have asked up front however it never crossed my mind, especially when paying £300 a night; so in effect I just raised an eyebrow and let it go. I have to say the invoice then sent through to me actually had a 50% reduction applied as a good will gesture so actually ended up only being £35 extra to have the breakfast I had already paid for being brought to the room. It was a nice gesture all the same as I hadn't complained at all. The Booking Office restaurant/bar is well over-priced when you compare with other establishments of a similar rating and again nothing special but a little pretentious. All that said; the reception staff were pleasant, polite and welcoming. I just don't think the rooms, maybe just the Barlow Wing, are worth the tariff. Collapse

We booked a room in a Chambers suite which gave access to the Chambers Club with free drinks and buffet breakfast.
