I recently returned from a 7 night stay in this incredible hotel. You will be impressed from the moment you step into the foyer & you are checked in by the FOH team. Very knowledgeable & proud of their hotel. Explained in full using a visual map of the hotel & facilities. I stayed here 7 years ago & I wondered if the hotel would live up to my memories. I wasn't disappointed. I had booked a sea view room as the view of the sea front never grows old. Sunshine from 8am on the balcony. One tip go as high as you can you keep the sun longer. Room beyond expectations. 2 large beds with a choice of 6 pillows from very soft to firm. Just ask at reception & they will get house keeping to fill your request. Large bathroom with walk in shower & yves roche toiletries replenished everyday. Free water & 2 cans of cola in fridge. Yes free of charge. Bathrobes & slippers too. We went B&B as we wanted to sample local restaurants in the evening. I defy anyone to be disappointed with the food & beverages on offer. 6 different types of milk with your cereal choice. Every type of fruit juices you can think of, plus a member of the team making fresh smoothies. Fresh fruit dried fruit. Hot breakfast choices freshly made, eggs omelettes of every description. Smoked salmon, mackerel. Bread. Fancy a glass of cava or a Buck's Fizz it's all there. Entertainment is based around the Beach Club & Champagne Bar, we didn't really stay here very much as we had friends staying in the resort. Pool area is small but they are restricted with the space they have available & to be honest the beach is so beautiful & right next to the hotel so not a problem. Free sun cream & towels at the poolside. Not seen that anywhere else. Lovely lounge area to watch the world go by along the front or just read, enjoy a coffee or a drink. Prices reasonable. I was sorry to go home at the end of the week. I've joined the privilege club & will get 5% discount next time I stay there, hopefully very soon. I will probably book direct next time & not use a travel company. Jet2 holidays which by the way are very good. One special mention has to be the Housekeeping team, they keep the hotel & especially your room immaculate. Hotel is now adult only from this year. They have another family hotel in resort. Collapse

Booked this in January and have been looking forward to staying there. We booked a junior suite and this did not disappoint we had loads of space with every thing we could need. Plenty of water to drink with fresh bottles every day. Chocolates one evening. Cleaners were excellent and the room was immaculate every day. Breakfast was good with champagne if you wanted. The hotel is just a short walk from the old town with lovely bars and restaurants to eat and drink on an evening then with the beach bars on the front great for lunch. Would certainly come back to this hotel and Calpe again. Collapse

Had great communication with the hotel beforehand by email. Very quick in replying and efficient. We upgraded through hotel to a sea view room on 7th floor. Views were amazing and I'm very glad we did it. Hotel is definitely a 4.5*. Rooms and hotel cleaned to a very high standard. Cleaners were probably the most active and efficient I have seen in any Spanish hotel. Fridge and safe in room free of charge (in upgraded anyway not sure of others). Lovely toiletries supplied which were much appreciated. A good mix of different nationalities. We were on bed and breakfast and were very happy with that. Omelettes were made to order and were better than expected too. We're definitely going to be back to this hotel. Loved the area too. Only slight downside was the size of pool to the hotel. We went to the beach and hired sunbeds and parasol for €5 each product which did add to the price of the holiday overall. Area is very reasonable for food and drink too And the hotel makes an amazing Bloody Mary. Fabulous holiday overall. Collapse

we are just back home after spending a week (12th-19th june) as a party of 4 in this brilliant hotel in the great resort of calpe, what a week we had with cloudless skies and the temp in the 30s all week, this hotel was unreal and is the best I have stayed in,the staff were amazing and cant do enough for you to make you feel special, all staff I saw had a smile on their face and seemed really happy to work there, everywhere was immaculate be it in the hotel or at the pool area which is a credit to everyone who runs the sol y mar, food was top class with lots of choice be it breakfast lunch or dinner, our room was great even though we took an inside room which does not have a balcony and was cleaned daily with fresh towels every day, at the pool area which is right on the beach they give you towels for your sunbeds free of charge which can be exchanged every day for fresh ones and they also have a stand at the pool entrance that has free factor 30 sun cream + after sun, in the morning they come round with free fruit and in the afternoon a free shot plus free crisps olives and nuts when you buy a drink at the pool bar, from may this year the sol y mar has been made adults only which was great and made the whole time spent in this hotel really chilled, below the hotel is a big supermarket which is really cheap. The resort of calpe was really good with a lovely beach and promenade to take an evening stroll on also no annoying drunks or people shoving bits of paper into your hand to get you to go to a bar club etc, calpe has lots of great restaurants to choose from but as we were half board we only ate out twice just to try them, the Garibaldi which is a 3 minute walk up the main street on your left from the hotel was great and if you turn right when you go through the hotel door and walk 10yards then look across the road you will see an Irish bar and if you take a left to the street just past it then walk 2/3 minutes you will arrive in a area just bursting with great restaurants, we ate at the Italian Antico-Roma da Luciano which could not be faulted, we cant wait until next year as we will be coming back to this wonderful hotel and resort.
