Obviously avoid top season if can , especially July and August if too hot for you at 40. Lagoon pool, immac throughout. Entertainment and large beach. Not my cup of tea at all, we stayed purely one night for Malaga airport on last day, but if you want a convenient all-in, and maybe have small ones, is good of the type. Should get in a deal with flight and all-in, as too expensive as-is. Collapse

Beautiful big room with side sea view. Really good halfboard. Perfect, speed wifi. Friendly and helpful staff. Very nice gardens with pools. Good location of hotel, 25 minutes by walk to old centre of town.

Sorry to say but this stay was the worst I have had at this hotel due to the noise from the darts competition lasting for 5 days and taking over the main bar area resulting in a few afternoons being taken in my room

Booked to go for a week in March with friends. We arrived around 14.00 and our rooms were ready, easy check in, on the 6 floor room was a bit dull and dated and my room was near the lift, so decided to ask if they had another room, unfortunately they never had one until Monday, but I could upgrade to the family block if I wanted. I decided why not, I am so glad I did the room was bright and modern and the family block had its own swimming pools and it was so quiet over that side of the hotel. We went all inclusive the restaurant was large and had a fair choice of food, food was fresh restaurant was clean and really what you would expect from a 4 star hotel. Not found much information on which drinks were served On the packages so thought I would give you a quick rundown. The all inclusive drinks were served at the bar and you had Cruzcampo lager on draft or bottle, spirits Bacardi, Smirnoff You can even have packets of crisps. For 10 Euros a day you can upgrade which gives you Heineken in the bottle, Bulmers Cider, Smirnoff Ice, and Bacardi Breezers. All the staff and bar staff were great never had any issues. Overall good cheap holiday. Collapse
Worth it!!! I would definitely return

My husband and I just got back from a 5night all inclusive stay at the sol principe along with our almost 3 year old. I had a read a lot of the reviews before we booked the hotel. This is mine CHECK IN I checked in online a day before we set off so we weren't in any queue when we arrived. I understand it was a quite season as schools are in session. We were told our rooms would be ready in 45 mins and as we arrived around 12:30 we were told to stow our bags in the locker room and have lunch. FOOD AND I must say i was well impressed with the variety of food. I had previously read about the food being cold, but that was not the case except for the salad of course lol. All through our stay breakfast, lunch and dinner was fabulous, freshly prepared meat, chicken and fish grilled right there. Great variety, from vegetarian ratatouille to sausages, ox tail, salmon, chicken, pork, lamb, fruits etc. desert was ok. Nothing ran out was constantly replenished. Alcohol, juice, even refilled my daughters milk bottles at the bar each timewith milk of course. Was definitely all inclusive, bext time il try the gold inclusive as there were a few that were exceptions. But there was definitely Something on the menu that could suffice CONs Maybe at this point i should say i am not the easiest to deal with as i could be a lil bit fussy, aren't we all..but i tell you this iv got nothing to complain of. Granted i wasn't pleased that the play area was being renovated so my daughter couldn't use it on site but the manager Carlos explained they had an unexpected repair to be done. We were told it was completed to some extent just before we left. But still not to the point were she could play. Well the sunny beach and order activities like crocodile park made up for it. I understand the kids activities are during the summer or school holidays. I was well aware before my trip that there may not be kids activities but i would have appreciated if there was a notice on the site saying PLAY AREA under renovation, i would have liked to know this travelling with under 3year old STAFF Staff were absolutely brilliant, language barrier at the front reception desk, but Olla!!!its a Spanish town! Rebecca was very friendly and Carlos(not the manager) was absolutely brilliant with my daughter she even named her stuffed elephant after him. Lol. All staff were friendly. ROOM We had a sea view room and it was a fabulous view. I would say the interior of the room was more 3 star than 4star but however there was a big TV screen and the bathroom was very good. The room was cleaned daily but on the second day we figured we had to take the sheets of ourself cos the lady hadnt changed them even though they could obviously do with a change. Once we did that before we left the room we came back to clean sheets and towels. HOTEL The hotel location is superb, as close as you can get to the beach, there are lots of shops around, we could even get fairy liquid for lil girls bottles just at the shop by the back gate. Had lots of neat sun lounger beds by the pool area. There were many activities at the hotel, we got a daily schedule at breakfast every morning. i only attended 3 activities cos we were out after our meals anyway. 1. the paella cooking show and i particularly enjoyed the 2. dance group that performed the day before we left, they were a young group.3. The aqua gym was fun as well the instructor has a great sense of humour. Nice 1hour walk by the beach all the way to Benalmadena my lil girl fell fast asleep in her pushchair. I can go on and on..... i would definitely return to sol principe Collapse
