Firstly would like to say we had a lovely stay, nothing major is wrong however, to get five stars a couple of things need to change. Like others have said tea & coffee facilities should be available in the rooms, also i think if your All Inclusive the fridge in the room should be stocked with at least water. The dinner time in the evening is far too early for closing, yes you can go into the restaurant at 9pm but they stop putting out anymore freshly cooked food and even start moving the utensils by 9.15pm. In fact if you want a dessert we found that you needed to get it before your mains as it would have all been removed by 9.30pm. Check In was awful, no matter what time of day you walk through reception there is always someone checking in. This process took us 45 minutes, with 3 small children it was an absolute nightmare. Instead of just taking the passports and collecting them the next day, they do all their paperwork whilst your stood there. Such a waste of time Apart from this, the holiday was great. Food very tasty, always hot, no problems finding a table at any meal time. Service was good but like others have said the staff just look miserable Pool areas were great, always got a sunbed but we were always down by 9am to ensure we got shade around the kids pools. Pool bar service was good Thanks for a lovely holiday Collapse

Stayed here with my wife for 10 days, second week in June and could not fault this hotel.I booked this hotel through the Melia Hotels International and joined Melia rewards club, so I could check in on line before we traveled so no queuing when we arrived.Reception staff were always very helpful, hotel was always spotless which was down to the brigade of cleaning staff that worked here.Stayed on the seventh floor room 2709 which had a great side view of the sea looking to the west.Rooms cleaned every day to a high standard. We booked our stay for breakfast & lunch or evening meal.Food was good, great selection.Bar staff very good, entertainment at the back pool was o`k finishes at 11.pm.The lagoon style pools were great but we spent most of our time at the back pool less hectic and access to the promenade and beach.Really enjoyed our stay and would come back again. Stayed 14-28 May 2017 First of all the air conditioning in this hotel is bizarre in itself. We’ve never stayed in any hotel where you can’t control the thermostat yourself and certainly not somewhere where the management decide when to turn it on or off. Apparently this is dictated by the actual weather temperature itself and when the peak holiday season begins. When we arrived this was designated as 1st June. So be prepared to wake up absolutely sweaty and stuffy at times in the middle of the night! If this was an energy saving practice it certainly defeats the objective when the air con stays on even when you open your balcony window and leave it wide open! Very odd. Anyway, the lobby area itself is big. The entrance area itself seemed a bit unfinished and depressing and definitely needed a bit more decoration. (A few logs standing upright in containers was a tad sparse to be honest.) Got the impression there used to be a water feature or something, but this wasn’t in operation when we there.) The reception staff were very hit and miss. Some were very unhelpful and dismissive…whilst others were totally the opposite. On the flip side the housekeeping staff were nothing more than excellent. You could not fault any of them on our floor. They were always polite, courteous, very thorough and pleasant throughout. Our room was on the 10th floor and it was nothing to write home in that it was basic, a bit bland but there was plenty of storage space. A door separating the front of the room to the corridor would have been good to drown out some of the noise from people clearly walking in high heels up and down the corridors early in the morning! Do watch the bathroom shower though. Although very powerful, you’ll find you’ll be stepping into more water when you get out. Water simply gets everywhere because the shower door isn’t wide enough and the door seal clearly doesn’t do its job properly. That’s just my gripe. Facility wise we just used the restaurant for one evening meal and the rest of the time for breakfast. The hotel’s only restaurant (more canteen) was very busy all the time. It’s huge and the noise was deafening. (Point to note, there was usually one militant and miserable lady at the door throughout our stay. She hardly smiled, was rude and spoilt our first and only evening meal experience by demanding either cash or hotel credit. We were not advised on checking in earlier in the day that to use any of the hotel’s services you would need to purchase credit in advance. After enquiring why we couldn’t charge the meals to our room or credit card she flatly refused and said no we don’t do that…no cash or credit you have to go to Reception to sort it out… and basically left us stranded and ignored us so she could ferry in the masses of people queuing behind us. Luckily we had just enough euros to pay for 2 meals rather than going back up to the room to get more cash or a credit card or go to reception.) As for the other restaurant staff… getting a set table or table cleared was a challenge due to insufficient staff and getting drinks took a long time. We only used the restaurant once… while the food on offer was okay at best we didn’t eat there again as there are far too many places outside the hotel. Breakfast in the restaurant was also for the masses, but the variety was very good and there was always plenty of hot and cold food items and a good choice of fruit available. The main bar and lounge area in the evening was also very busy and noisy. We didn’t care much for the nightly scheduled entertainment, but what we heard as we came back to the hotel it wasn’t our cup of tea. We didn’t use the gym facilities or indoor pool, but looking at the equipment on offer it did seem rather limited especially in number. Useful tip… for a deposit of 10 euros… towels can be obtained from the gym area. Not a lot of people seemed to know this so used their own towels for the loungers. The pools themselves were great. One was massive with so many hideaways, one kids one, but we used the back pool on the beach side as it was less busy and less kids than the main one. The beach promenade was excellent. Watching the rollerblades, power walkers, joggers, cyclists and dog walkers using their own part of the path seems to work brilliantly. Lots of convenient touristy shops and supermarkets dotted around. There are tons of places to eat and there was a place that advertised it had the best mojitos on Tripadvisor and they were right in our opinion! (As long as it’s the manager that makes them!) All in all we enjoyed the area of Torremolinos, weather was superb, great walks in the evening after the meals, but the hotel was not really to our liking as it was too busy (even though it was still off peak), catered more for families, but it served its purpose as a base while we went touring round Andalucia. Would we recommend? Not really. Collapse

Excellent hotel , very clean and food was good , however there is no tea/coffee facilities in the room, I would expect these in a hotel.the adult entertainment was quite good and the children's pool area was great.
