I went with my 5 Year old son, there was NO DRINKS included with half board, so its food only basically. There was not much for kids and the reception is always extremely busy. The kids games didn't work and we lost our money The hotel is not far from beach and promenade so that was nice, unfortunately I wouldn't stay here again or recommend. My room was noisy from above floor, so unhappy stay. Collapse

I have stayed at the the TRYP Tenerife many times but sadly this year is likely to be the last. Over the years I (and many other reviewers) have highlighted the many shortcomings of the hotel but have accepted them as they were offset by the great location and the value for money afforded by the low room rates. Sadly this year the hotel has increased prices by 40% but once again made no investment in addressing the shortcomings raised by guests. TRYP have however spent money creating a top floor level of Premium rooms at €30 extra per night which do address many of the shortcomings however this is like putting lipstick on a pig!! ALL ROOMS IN THE HOTEL SHOULD BE OF THIS STANDARD. The hotel is likely to respond to this review with the usual "the rooms are to a reasonable standard for a 3* " however I delayed drafting this review as 2 weeks after staying at the TRYP I had a further holiday in Tenerife at the 3* Los Dragos Del Sur in Puerto Santiago and wanted to compare the 2 properties. The differences were quite staggering and if anything made the TRYP even less attractive. THE COMPARISON Dragos (for full details see separate review) - Complimentary bottle of wine on arrival - Modern bright furnishings, cushions and lighting - A/C in lounge and bedroom - Full front line sea view - Large balcony with quality furniture and cushions - Kitchen with fridge, kettle, microwave, Hob - Comfortable foam matress and quality pillows - numerous power points - Restaurant looked and felt like a proper restaurant - 4th Floor roof top child and adult pools - Solariums on 4th and 8th with Loungers/Bali Day Beds TRYP - Complimentary bottle of water on arrival - Bland/Utilitarian Rooms (no pictures, lamps, scatter cushions) - No A/C or ceiling fans - Extra cost frontal sea view blocked by fire escape - Small balcony with only 2 plastic chairs - No kettle or fridge (rentable at €25 & €60 a week) - Rock hard mattress / cheap foam pillows - one spare power point hidden under desk - Restaurant which is like a works canteen - Garden pools too small for 700+ guests - Dated loungers (cushions rentable at €1.50 a day) As can be seen the Dragos came out on top for most things and to cap it all the TRYP was around €80 a night whereas the Dragos was €35 less than half!!!! Given the above I would advise anyone thinking of staying at the Tryp Tenerife to shop around as I am confident they will find a better deal elsewhere, Collapse

well read some reviews before i booked thought mmmm ill soon see, and see i did this is a good hotel with a clientel that some return year after year i only booked this once for a week and glad i did it was what i wanted on this trip i was solo visiting family,it not expensive at all for what you get its great value i was H/B the food was hot the salad cold all good selection morning or night, dinning room staff was really nice being on own came and ask if everything was all right on more than once my answer was always the same honest answer yes thank you lovely, the hotel reception was also helpful pointing me in the right direction for the right bus to americas etc, although its a nice walk down the sea front about 25 mins light stroll in the sun to the shopping centre of americas thats if you can resist the many restaurants caffes onroute for a coffee or beer there is many,it take a 5 mins stroll down a medium hill to the beach front of christianos and i meen medium hill unlike some say big my parents are 80yrs of age and they easily made it i could run up it and im not fittest in the world unless you was in a wheel chair this isnt a problem, the hotel rooms are clean and the one i had was large 1 bedroom with living room flat screen tv with many english chanels and music chanel all i used.bathroom had obviously been refurbished so very nice shower over the bath with clean shower curtain rare in spain sometimes, shower powerfull and hot everytime i used many times at peak hours.they have a card system to buy drinks eyc in hotel if your not all inclusive they give you a card you give the the euros you with to put on nothing simpler why the moans on here no idea, you cant run a bill up more than you put on and load it up as many times as you like simle really lol.but load it up with cash euros not your credit card like i seen some do youll get charged every time from card company so cash is king on this one. the pools is briliant clean sun all day quiet and has a bar the water was evan wet although feb a little cold.taxis and buses straight outside hotel if needed, restaurants plenty within minutes of hotel.find the dreamers bar down the road towards sea and youll have a great night some really good acts on if your over 30 that is, rod stewart neil diamond etc open till late ish too Collapse

Arrived to a friendly welcome, along with a mini box of chocolates. Decided to go to the bar and it was so dark with blue lighting in the corner, a torch to find the way should be advised. The pool area was small and felt as though one lounger was on top of another. Food both in the restaurant and snack area was appalling. Cold, overcooked, seemed like it was leftovers. This meant us going out spending money when we had paid for all inclusive! Over priced hotel with not much to write good about. Collapse
