Great Hotel with amazing and beautifully kept gardens. Our room was spacious and very clean with good beds and bathroom facilities. Our verandah overlooked the small pond adjacent to the swimming pool - very peaceful. Other side of room backed on to road at the side of the hotel which was noisy during the day - but we were out every day so not a problem. Room was so large you couldn't hear road noise once inside! Dining facilities were excellent with so much choice you never needed to eat the same thing twice in a fortnight! All the staff were very friendly, efficient and attentive and always super smart. We enjoyed the selection of evening entertainment during our stay - some great musicians. The flamenco dancers and Beatles tribute band in paticular were superb. We hired a car for one week of our fortnight stay - beware of dodgy rental firms who have your card details! Excellent location to explore the island from. Went up to Teide twice, round to Les Americas,Los Cristianos, Los Gigantes,Garachico, Santa Cruz etc. Loro Park is amazing and a must see for all ages. Didn't find the hills and steps down into town a problem though we are both reasonably fit and used to walking (aged 57/65). Read reviews before we booked the holiday - in my opinion harsh and misleading. Would definitely use this hotel again if we return to Teneriffe. Collapse
An oasis of calm on a busy island.

A good hotel in beautifully kept gardens with a lovely park to the rear,(which can be reached by using the steps up from the restaurant and exiting the gate with your room card, saves using the busy road at the front.)Once in the park you can go down to the town and sea via paths and steps etc.if you have mobility problems don't stay here there are steps to climb inside the grounds and it's on a very steep hill 20 minutes walk to the sea.Good taxi services locally approx 4 euros from the town to the hotel.Comfortable rooms with good beds and chairs, also a fridge but no kettle etc,and only BBC world service in english on tv, ask for a room NOT at the front of the hotel overlooking the road ,it is a very busy and noisy road.We enjoyed our stay here in April temps around 24 to 29. The mix of people is mainly elderly and predominately German which we did not find a problem. The restaurant can get very busy but the staff are excellent and efficient, food mix good excellent salad choice,it is a very casual eating experience no long trouser rule in the evenings etc,we don't like fuss so suited very well. I read the reviews on here before travelling and found some of them very harsh. Collapse

If you don't like the walk in to town or to the beach then this hotel isn't for you - you'd need one closer to Plaza De Charco/Playa Jardin, this said the taxi is only €4 on average, don't underestimate the extremely steep walk back (!!!).. Fantastic grounds and large quiet family pool with cheaply priced pool bar for drinks, beers, cocktails and snacks.. A mention must go to 'Jeny' who was fantastic with all of our family the whole time, in particular my two year old girl who fell in love! A kind and helpful lady who's a real asset to the staff.. My Mother, Wife, 10yr old daughter, 2yr old daughter and I had a great time and me and the wife even managed a night out at Blancobar in Plaza De Charco until the early hours - you need to be ready to travel away from the hotel and if a week partying is what you're after then unfortunately the south of the island is probably where you should be... Loro Parque, shopping at the Plaza, days out at Jardin beach, nights out at the restaurants in the Plaza and a few lazy days at the pool fills a nice week Collapse

I booked this hotel as a last minute cheap deal from Thomsons, travelling alone, mother with two children (6) and (8). I was very aware of the reviews that had been made in relation to the hotel, it's location and it's customer service but the deal and guaranteed sunshine was one I couldn't resist. I emailed the hotel directly and called Thomsons to request a quiet room and I was accommodated nicely (although I am aware rooms of a poorer standard do exist). The hotel has all of the basic facilities of a 4* hotel, nice pool, snack bar, buffet restaurant and moderate entertainment. If you're looking for a hotel that you want to spend 100% of your time in then this hotel is not for you!! It feels a little lost in time struggling to cater for people of varying ages but there are so many wonderful things to do around the hotel that what the hotel offered me and my daughters didn't bother me in the slightest. Yes there were vegetables at breakfast but you don't have to eat them but there is also freshly made pancakes, croissants, bacon, eggs, freshly made omelettes to order etc. At first I thought the veg at breakfast was insane but I witnessed many people of varying cultures enjoying it, I'm not going to judge as it didn't impact on us in the slightest. The food on the evening was also great with fresh fish, steaks, paella, pasta, salad and a wide variety of desserts. I had every intention of eating out a couple of nights but honestly didn't feel the need to I think many of these reviews are a little harsh and overthought. If you booked with Thomson then you'll be met by Jewls the rep on the afternoon of your first day and she goes through all the excursions. We visited Loro Park, did the Medieval Night and the Freebird One catamaran trip. All were amazing and I'll try to attach a few pictures for you to see. The town centre is around a 15 minute walk away and it's a fairly steep but beautiful walk down, for the less mobile there is a courtesy bus so getting down to the front isn't an issue at all. On the way back from the town we hopped in a taxi and the going rate is between 3-4 euros which didn't cause us a problem and there are plenty of taxis around when needed. Overall review: Got more than our value for money, made the most of it. Get out and about, it's not the hotel to sit in day and night, however a fantastic base to explore. Collapse
Fair value. Clean. Quiet. Many steps. Lovely gardens

It's a mature hotel which I guess is about 40 years old and typical of 70's build. Our room was large, clea, big beds and with a 4 piece bathroom suite. Excellent huge balcony overlooking the courtyard and the obligatory pool. The gardens are lovely and fir us a real delight. First arriving at the hotel two minutes before dinner ended I expected to be rebuffed but we were kindly asked to be quick before going to the room. This was a nice gesture because it had been a very long tiring day. Generally speaking, both breakfast and dinner offered an enormous choice of high quality ingredients which were, sadly, lacking in seasoning or spice enhancement more typical of Spanish cuisine. Overall this was a nice hotel suitable principally for young families or young at heart oldies. Twenty to forty somethings might be disappointed. Evening entertainment was dire. Go out! It's virtually lights out when it gets dark! Overall it is a fair 3T package deal and good value. I would stay again if the price was right. Collapse
