One of the best hotels for family's, great pools great entertainment, lots for kids from soft play to rides to bouncy castles so it's a fun well kept hotel. This hotel is in a great location just of the maguluf strip but quiet enough to not here the hooligans on the street , there are lots to do for kids around the resort and the beach is a walk away .. overall I would recommend this hotel and would go back Collapse

I visited last year with my son, my son cut his shoulder open having to have stitches from the steps in the pool, this was not treated with repect by the hotel they was not concerned that another child could be hurt. The room was clean the maids did not knock they barged in a few times. And it states all inclusive for the theame park this is not true for three of the activities you have to pay extra for. Food is ok very repetitive and not overly warm. Collapse

I stayed there last summer with my wife daughter son in law and 3 grandchildren, The hotel was nice but not in a good position there was a night club opposite my room however my daughter and family was put in a room on the other side of the hotel so could not hear the noise, but after a few drinks that didn't bother me to much. No problems with the hotel its self , its the grounds that the problem, the pool area isn't big enough and there isn't enough sun beds for high season, and if you are lucky enough to get the beds finding a parasol is even harder, on two occasions when we where all in the pool the one parasol we managed to get went walk about some where. The park area is very good the entertainment there is good, there lays another problem I feel, it is not just for residents of the hotel but any one else could buy a day ticket that gave them access to the hotel, we meet people laying around the pool who had bought day tickets for the kids and then spent the day round the pool. It made me feel quite annoyed that there was families walking round the pool with no chance of getting a bed when the family next to us had bought day tickets for the kids only. The overall concept of of Katmandu is a very good one but like I said in the title it is in my opinion a victim of its own success and the only way I could see this being solved is to stop day tickets in high season or separate the park form the hotel but I would go for the first option. I have stayed in several Sol hotels before and this is the first time I have been disappointed. Collapse

Visited in Easter 2016 as had an umissable deal with Melia hotels.Would not class this as Magaluf so if you are a family then don't let the location put you off from coming This is a family orientated hotel with the added bonus of the park. Rooms were interconnected which is an added convenience for us. Clean and basic. Food here was more than reasonable, and kids were happy with their choices. An easy walk down to the beach-which if you know are immaculately clean, sandy and perfect for kids. McDonalds less than 10 mins walk too if you want a change. The park is not that big but good to keep the kids occupied-although my 6 year old did get a bit scared at parts. Probably better hotels around such as Sol Palmanova but happy enough as a one off stay Collapse

The moment I found out I was not only returning to Magaluf again but I was also going to be staying in the place I remember looking at in amazement as a young girl. Only now, it had been refurbished into something much greater than just the upside down house (which is what I was so amazed with all those years ago) and now it had become one amazing feature amongst many. Arriving at the hotel and viewing our rooms and having a general look around the apartments we were very happy with the cleanliness also with the bathroom area. No complaints of the rooms at all. The entertainment was brilliant! 10/10. some of the acts could at times be a bit cheesy but who doesn't love a bit of that! Kids all loved the entertainment every night and there was no chance my little brother would come off that dance floor for anything he loved it so much especially all the workers. The workers are brilliant with kids, they get all the kids involved not one child is ever left out and they create a very fun and happy and excitable environment for the children, so much so my brother was begging for lie-ins and back home he is up at 6am! They also take the children to the soft play areas or the kids club area just a stones throw away from the entertainment area (which is next to the pool area but very safe) throughout the day, various times and at night allowing adults time to relax. They take a register of your name and your child's name and your contact number should they need you and every child is accounted for; they take this very seriously. Sol Katmandu is the ideal place to go if you are taking children as I guarantee the children will never get bored! I was 23 at the time and I felt like a big child again (definitely acted like it too). The amusement park is out of this world so many different things to do and 3D effects and the upside down house was better than I could ever have imagined. In the house there's photo opportunities whilst you walk around which are lovely keepsakes having a photo with some of the many great things to view inside the house and other areas inside that. The food was good each day, I'm a really fussy eater but I did manage to find something I could eat each day and always a great breakfast selection on with various juices and coffee, tea (anything really) ready And available. Always a nice treat selection cakes, pastries, donuts & chocolate fountain sometimes. Always lovely fresh fruit available too for whenever you've had one too many and can't have food just yet. The hotel decor is beautiful and something you would truly need to see for yourself. A lot of hard work and dedication has been put into it and it has paid off as it definitely shows. The workers are always extremely happy and are always more than happy to help instantly. You can see they take great pride doing their jobs. The only downfall of our holiday was the very last day. We had been sitting by the pool and then went to get the cases out the room before check out time (everything was packed and ready to just go). We got to our rooms and my mum discovered her pass was no longer working to get in her room. Although it wasn't check out time yet she had been checked out the room. This added a bit of stress to the whole process which should have been quick and easy. We were at the reception desk for roughly 45 minutes trying to check out with many people in the area and children. And it's a theme park so it was very noisy and busy as you can imagine so this was extremely frustrating and stressful. We were panicking thinking they would check us out later and try charge us extra for the late check out but thankfully that didn't happen. We finally got checked out and decided to go and have something to eat and sit and relax after the stress of trying to check out. Whilst trying to go into the buffet area a worker 'Aitor' allowed us into the area at first and whilst we were half way through plating up food (all really hungry and not due to get picked up for a few hours yet) to tell us we were not actually allowed any of this food as we had now checked out. Obviously we knew we had checked out the room but we hadn't checked out the hotel yet and there was a 5 year old with us. This seemed a bit unnecessary however we politely put the food back down where we stood with half a plate of food each left to waste (hope he didn't scrape it back in) and went to the Irish pub round the corner for some really nice food. We did however love our stay that much that we have booked up and shall be returning later this year. We won't let the last day affect the whole holiday as it was just a small downfall but had it not happened it would have been an almost perfect holiday. We are all mega excited and my brother can't wait to see everyone again he really enjoyed himself and it was great to see him so happy every single night. And the yeti's that walk around the pool they're so cute! I have one final question, will adults (big children) be allowed on the inflatable water activity in the pool? I want a shot. See you in June for a Mojito! Collapse
