This was a one-night stop over from our ferry trip to St Petersburg. We had two adjoining rooms, identical in features. There were chocolate sweets to greet us when we entered our room and the well appointed bathrooms were heated. The continental breakfast was superb and the gorgeous set of huge Babushka dolls on display remind us of where we are. The concierge and reception staff were very helpful and easy to talk to. The hotel is not located on the main island where Neivsky Prospekt is situated but we found it easy to navigate around the city in the <2 days we had. I would definitely like to return here and stay for a much longer visit. Collapse

This hotel is in a great location as it is just round the corner from a pedestrian walkway with lots of cafes and a beuatiful church. It is also a great walk along the river to the Peter and Paul Fortress and the main attractions on the other side of the river. My tour group arranged for the stay at this four star hotel and it was wonderful on many levels. The bed was comfotable, large bathroom, in-room safe, water bottles provided for drinking, tea/coffee making facilities including UHT milk, window that opens and free WiFi. My issue with the bathroom was there was no shampoo and conditioner - it is all in one on the wall - do not know why four star hotels are going this route - very annoying. Hairdryer was quite slow. Although, not enough for me to take away one of the points for the rating. My reduction for the rating is caused by there being no towels in the bathroom, I mean not a one. So I went down to reception as I was going out for a walk and asked them to place them in the room - they confirmed with me it was okay to enter the room if I was not there. Get back two hours later, and nothing. So called down to reception and requested the towels again. Nothing. So another hour later I went down to reception again and they finally delivered them on the third request. The breakfast was okay. There is champagne with the juices that most people missed seeing so note this is available if you like champagne. The front desk staff were always helpful. Would stay here again. Collapse

This hotel is located across the river from the Hermitage and a little off the historic center, but close enough that you can walk to Kazan Cathedral or St. Isaac's. The standard room is very basic but comfortable and clean. It has wood floors, which make it a great alternative for people with allergies. The design of the bathroom is not as great and it could be improved, especially the lighting inside. Superior rooms are better and come with the amenities you would expect, like a fully stocked minibar and shampoo! Front desk is great. Special recognition to Emil, who wen out of his way to make my stay comfortable once the family joined my business trip. Make sure breakfast is included. It's worth it. Otherwise there are alternatives around the corner. The concierge staff was also very helpful in getting tickets and providing dining reservations. In summary, it doesn't compare to the Renaissance Hotel in the heart of town, or even the smaller Trezini Palace around the corner, but it is a solid hotel for business people or families travelling to St Petersburg on a budget. The city is definitely worth it. Collapse

I stayed here for 4 nights as part of the Trafalgar Tour hotel in St Petersburg. When I first arrived with my heavy luggages, there was no hotel porter/bell boy to help me! Fortunately a kind male hotel guest saw me struggling with my luggages and rushed to help me. I was assigned Room 722 with no view. I also realized that there were bed bugs on the right side of the bed at 1am. I didnt complain then as it was very late and i was jetlagged. I switched over to the left side of the bed and it was better. I also placed huge bath towels on the bed (on the left side where i slept) and wore long thick pyjamas pants to avoid being bitten. The reason i didnt make a fuss or had time to complaint was because our Russia tour schedule was jam packed with activities. And i came back late to the hotel every nite. In any case, please ask your Housekeeping to kill the bed bugs. On one of the days, i came back to the hotel at around 5.30pm to refresh before out again 20 mins later with the tour group - my room was half cleaned! Meaning housekeeping was still cleaning my room (there were 5 girls chatting away) whilst 1 was cleaning. Hm. Breakfast The saving grace was the hotel breakfast which served champagne. The omelette station was very popular and there's always a queue. I was very impressed with the female servers too - so hardworking yet they were always gracious and ever smiling! They were helpful too esp when i informed them that the champagne needed to be replenished. The girls would immediately rush to take out a new champagne bottle. All in all, this is a 4 star hotel and you can tell. Would I recommend this hotel? Sadly, no. There are many good hotels in St Petersburg which is more value for money. Collapse
