We were realy looking forward to our tripp and stay at the hotel. Couple days before the trip they ask for any needs for our stay. I told them about my grilfriends birthday. When we arrived, everything looks nice and special. But there were some disappointments. We didnt had a nice room which I asked for. Look onto neighbors hous ni 1st floor. Nothing special for a birthday (drinks or just a little extra). In other hotels commen. The room was very small - we had a Deluxe room. I didnt expacted a suits, but it was very narrow. Its a OK Hotel with a OK service and a OK location... Collapse

The Sir Albert has the veneer or a great Hotel. However, behind the facade it's trying too hard and doesn't get it. When we arrived the front door was unmanned. We carried our bags in and there was no signage to the front desk. Just a bustling restaurant with pounding music. When we located the front desk, it was also unmanned. When we were finally greeted by an employee, she was in fact very cheerful and attentive. She told us we were "Guest of the DAY" and due a free upgrade. Oh what excitement. We were given keys and sent off alone, like it was the Holiday Inn. Our room turned out to be the same size we had booked and a very tight Black Box? Is this a game they play on all their clients? Like many trendy hotels, it was next to impossible to figure out where the lights were and what all the cryptic icons on the remote meant. The decor of the hotel is very dated (Think West Elm circa 1990) there is a heavy dose of pretentious (The rediculous bath "Monk's Robe" wouldn't look good on a super model). I mean really, a grey bathrobe with a neck clasp and elbow squares? Downstairs the restaurant is a mix of Japanese and South Western. The food is quite good, but it is really a club. A DJ who was not very inspired played pounding music in a restaurant with no dance floor. Although there were several empty tables, we were relegated to the "Bar" because we didn't have a reservation. We ate our dinner while several tables sat empty. After we retired to our room we could hear the music two floors up for the rest of the evening. They offer a breakfast buffet at 21 Eu that for some unknown reason is 23 Eu if you don't book it in advance? It runs until 11 am. We grabbed a table and went to the front desk to ask them to check our flights and prepare our bill. There was a huge line of people trying to do the same. I can only wonder how many missed their flights. When we returned to our table at 10:45 we were told that the kitchen was closed. Even with a full buffet sitting out and it still 15 mins from the end of the "breakfast". The worst! We found a great gourmet donut shop up the block and said to good riddance to the Sir Albert/ Look around and find something that is what it pretends to be. Not a dump masquerading as a Palace. Thank you Sir Albert

It has been for years I have discovered your hotel online and ever since wanted to stay at your place for once. Now I have and I must say it was a true pleasure and from the first Welcome until I have left to travel home experinced warmth and care. We were offered a glass of Cava upon arrival and when entering our room I was charmed by the TV-Screen having a welcome note and the bathroom an inspiring little word. The body products used in the rooms are exquisite and add to the overal experience. I deffinitely will recommend Sir Albert and hope to come back soon again. A bit THANK YOU for a lovely stay! What a great place! Located a short walk from Rijks, van Gogh and Stedelijk but somehow peaceful and quiet hotel. All the staff was very helpful and friendly. On the arrival we found out that our room got a free upgrade- what a treat! The room was stunning- perfect size, super comfy bed, wonderful shower. Breakfast very nice, lots of choice, including Lebanese cheese, red beans, couscous, salmon with beetroot, fresh fruit, great pastry, yoghurts- wonderful. I think the restaurant in the evening was a really busy and loud place- but staying on the 3rd floor- we didn't hear any noise. It's a pricy place but- oh, so worth it! Collapse
