I am typically a Marriott-girl and love the New Orleans Marriott (directly across the street) but I got a AAA package that included parking at the Sheraton that ended up saving me over $50 a night so I tried the Sheraton and loved it. First of all - it is a great location. Technically I believe it is in the Central Business District but it is adjacent to the French Quarter and only 2-3 blocks from Bourbon Street. You are close to the craziness of Bourbon Street but also, just far enough away from it too. Maybe a 5-10 minute walk to Jackson Square and the French Market. You can pick up the Canal Street Streetcar right out front (as well as the hop on/hop off city tour). The lobby was bustling with activity - it has a nice bar area and a Starbucks right there. The lobby had the best smell -no idea what it was, but if they had sold it as a fragrance I would have bought it. The room was very nice - 2 comfortable full sized beds (not Queen - full, if that makes a difference). Plenty of drawer space and a large bathroom. AC was quiet and kept the room nice and cool. They have a small pool area on the 8th floor. Probably could use a few more chairs in the area. My only (minor) complaint about the Marriott was that the bathroom was tiny and they needed more drawer space. Comparing everything else, the Sheraton and Marriott were pretty equal but overall, the drawer space and bathroom tip me over to the Sheraton (if price were equal). The valet staff were polite and efficient. Check in process was quick. Housekeeping was always done when I returned to the room in the afternoon. Everyone I encountered was friendly. Very happy with my stay and if the price was right I'd definitely stay here again and I would recommend it highly. Collapse

I used the SPG app and used the mobile check in feature. It made my check in at the hotel very quick and easy. My SPG platinum status was recognized and I was upgraded to an executive suite on the 23rd floor over looking the river. The club lounge was very nice and a good selection of hot and cold appetizers. This hotel is located walking distance to Bourbon street and the French quarter, which was very convenient. The handle on my toilet broke and I called guest services and a maintenance man was at my room within minutes and took care of the problem. Great property and staff. Collapse

I stayed here for a conference I was attending which was located at this hotel. I checked in on a Saturday and all night it seemed like people were slamming doors and talking. I could hear their conversations as they walked through the hallway. The doors seemed excessively heavy since the "slamming" went on all night. The walls were also very thin as I heard people's voices and using the bathroom. My toilet would run numerous times throughout the day & night. The hotel was big and a nice location. Collapse

I'm typing this review from my room on the 23rd floor, where I am wide awake. It's 2:44 AM and the live blues from across the street is so loud that sleeping - the sole purpose for booking this room - is an impossibility. While the staff has been friendly, the conditions clean, the amenities appropriate for the price point, I am not going to be able to sleep. The front desk could not estimate a time this might end, leading me to believe that this little concert will go on all night. New York is not this loud. London is not this loud. Las Vegas is not this loud. I thought a box fan might drown out some of the noise, but housekeeping has run out of them. The white noise app on my phone is no match for this amount of volume. So it's just live blues, like a private concert, here in my room, that I did not request, having instead opted for sleep three and a half hours ago. I'm in this godforsaksen city on business, which means I need to have my wits about me in the morning. And that won't happen because of the live blues show that's so loud I can actually feel the baseline vibrating my molars. SWEET BABY JESUS, SOMEONE IS PLAYING A SAXAPHONE SOLO NOW. Is no one else here bothered by this? It's 3:00 AM. Kenny Goddamned G doesn't want to hear a saxaphone solo at 3:00 AM. If on the morning news, you see that middle aged woman in flannel pajamas has snapped, having violated the entire ensemble with their own instruments, please lay the blame entirely at the Sheraton's feet. There's no excuse for not installing noise-reduction windows, or, at the very least, providing guests with earplugs. I imagine when - if - the band ever stops, I will then be bothered by the Panther air boat engine otherwise known as the room's air conditioning unit or the thundering plumbing that shakes the room when anyone in a three floor radius flushes. I can't even imagine how loud the showers will be in a few hours when guests begin to rise. But maybe that will drown out the blues. One can hope. P.S. I didn't book this room, it was booked for me so I could be here to attend a convention. I don't want a refund; I just want to be able to sleep and that is clearly not going to happen. So now we're in a fight, Sheraton. P.P.S. I guess it's time for the 3:15 AM saxophone solo! Yay! Collapse

We arrived a little before check-in time but Rovella gave us our room so we didnt have to wait . She was so wonderful and helped us with places to eat for lunch. The room we had was clean and well equipped. Loved our stay at this hotel. The location is only a few short blocks to Bourbon ST. The Harrahs casino is one block away many places to grab a drink or bite right by the hotel. The hotel has a great Restaurant and bar which was lots of fun! The price was so worth it,we had a great rate. Elevators were fast ,I had to mention this we were on 18th floor and its takes only seconds and the door opens to your floor. Very cool. Everyone of the employees was wonderful . Thank you again Rovella for being so kind! Collapse
