We stayed at this gorgeous resort for the past week and we were wowed by its natural environment overlooking the ocean. In addition to its beauty, the service was exceptional and a real testament to all the staff from the operational hands on approach by the general manager, Mr Frederick, to be greeted by the beautiful smiling faces of all the customer focussed staff. The food at Kwee Zeen was amazing and had an extensive menu catering for all. Wendy the chocolate chef made the most exotic chocolates and chocolate Snowman equally the pastries and brioche were divine. The suites were very grand, clean and spacious. Must also say we loved getting on the complimentary bus driven by a gentleman referred as Uncle and being apprised of the cultural history of Singapore, best places to shop for quality items without being charged the international tariffs aimed at tourists. Looking forward to staying at the Resort in the future and will have very fond memories of the place. Highly recommended to those whom are seeking a gorgeous location, great service and a memorable experience Collapse

Amazing Spa Resort but doesn't quite deserve a 5 Star (yet)

Love the Sentosa Resorts and Spa and more so after learning that Accor has taken over to manage it under the Sofitel Brand. We have always been big fan of Sofitel / Novotel and Pullman that it's our priority choice whenever we travel. We even made it our #1 choice to have our wedding there in September this year. Well, where should I begin?? The Inspired Events Directors were great but there seems to be problem after problem ever since we had signed up with them. The price of the villa, wedding package, somewhat differed from what was first discussed. Anyway, we decided to sign up eventually as we really like the ambience and the hotel has one of the best "Sea" view in Singapore for wedding. The invoices / contract required changes almost every single time. I was even more upset when we found out that it was MUCH cheaper to book the rooms and villa through the Accor Website then through the Inspired Events team. It got to a stage that that I had to call the team to tell them off and they came back a week later to match the price on the website. This shouldn't be the case. If I had not checked the website, I would have been paying over USD500 extra per night! Things got better after a new director was assigned to take over our event and I would like to thank Mr Malcom H for that. Things went relatively smooth on the actual day but again, there were mistakes on the final bill. We had to wait over 30 minutes in the wedding suite to get my final bill revised as we were overcharged by nearly 3k. Being sick for the past 5 days, I did not really scrutinize through my bill but just wanted to check into my villa and rest, I signed on the final bill, which was again incorrect. We had all the left over wine and wedding gifts in the bridal suite, along with my medication which we had asked the hotel staff to send over to the villa. The items did not turn up for over an hour. After several calls, my husband was told that the bridal suite, which we had left all our items to be delivered by the concierge, had been occupied by the next group of people who had booked the event for the evening. Anxious to get our items out of the room, we demanded the hotel to act on retrieving our items back from the bridal suites and delivered to our villa immediately. At the same time, my husband rushed back to the suite to retrieve my medication. The hotel reception was not trained to handle the situation when we requested to have the items delivered to our room urgently. The hotel manager eventually sent us a bottle of champagne to apologise but that's not what we are after. The hotel staff should see to the urgency to deliver the belongings to the respective rooms and not allow outsiders to have access to our items. Back to the Villa Au Jardin. It was one of the best choice we had made during our stay. The 2 rooms were well equipped and come with a swimming pool. Toiletries were from Hermes and the hotel had it decorated for our wedding (THANK YOU). However, there were several things that were NOT working and nothing could be done even though we had called the reception. First, the lights in the swimming pool were not working. That means, as soon as the sun sets, we had to forbid anyone to use the pool for safety reasons. The kids were left disappointed, so were we. Then the rain shower in my room was not working too. The best part was the "Rain" in the lounge due to condensation. The "leakage" was pretty bad and water was dripping over the TV set. It was pretty embarrassing and it is definitely not something we would be expecting in a 5-star hotel. Breakfast at the Kwee Zenn was phenomenal though. They offered a good selection of breakfast and we get to dine with Peacocks :D The waiters were attentive and polite. On check-out, we were asked to pay an amount which I refused to sign because I have been charged for an additional 10 pax for our wedding. The person in charge suggested if I could provide credit card details and he will put an offline charge while he waits for the Event director to confirm if there was really an overcharge. Of course, I refused to give my card details. We were lucky there was a wedding event on that day too and the event director happened to be on duty and he verified my claims and reversed the excess charges. Thanks again for saving the day, Malcolm. I love Sofitel Sentosa for the clean, modern, spacious rooms and I would probably stay in the hotel sometime soon but the management needs to look into making sure that rooms are properly maintained to avoid disappointing the guests.
