We booked the hotel through Travelbird for 3 nights in combination with 3 nights Valencia. We had a great stay in the Senator hotel. The hotel is located a bit out of the center very close to the foot stadion of Barca at a 10 min walk from Metro (station Collblanc) on a direct line fromthe airport and as such all lovely places in Barcelona can easily be reached. I found the hotel interior rather old fashioned and needs some renovation. But that's more than compensated by a lovely SPA. As hotel guest you have free entrance from 10.00AM till noon. Don't forget to bring your slippers. Hotel offers a decent and good breakfast. I would call the hotel basic and not that luxary but good quality for the price. The beds are rather hard and room cleaning can also be better. Luckily it was low season because room are not very soundproof. Collapse

Had a very nice stay, bathroom includes a bidet and the room had plenty of space and reclining beds. The stay included one free visit to the spa from 10am - 12pm and I reccommend bringing your own flip flops and towel; they require you to buy 3 euro plastic flip flops and put down a 10 euro deposit for a towel rental otherwise. The spa had a lot of amenities including a Turkish steam bath. Collapse

I stayed at the Senator for 6 nights. Our stay was centred around Camp Nou since my son was playing the FCB Escola tournament. A very well placed hotel, with lots of cafes, bus stops and the nearest metro station, Collblanc. Booked a room with a king size bed. The price also included breakfast for two. Pleasantly surprised with the quality of service, clean room and daily cleaning was top notch. Extensive breakfast buffet. Maria at the egg counter was superb. I would not hesitate to go back to Senator. All the best. Collapse

Stayed at senator hotel 1/4/2017 for 2 nights, lovely hotel friendly staff, room was ok I had thought I booked a king size room which it had clearly stated but on arrival receptionist asked if we wanted an upgrade at extra cost for a better view, to be honest there is no views as it is a residential area, Not sure about what I read about reclining beds and chairs? I paid £237 plus tax when i reached at hotel so was no bargain for us. The spa was lovely really enjoyed it but unfortunately arrived at hotel midday on saturday and missed the timing that the spa is opened which is only 10-12 free for residents so we only got to go on sunday as monday it was closed. Being a muslim I wore a burkini and was questioned by a male member of staff which I was not happy about. They are a bit tight on supplying teas and coffee for the room ,I saw a male receptionist being rude to someone saying he is not allowed to give more tea! but the lady gave us without being rude. Its not a 3 minute walk from metro to hotel I would say its about 20 minutes and all together about 1 hour from the airport. you can get a straight underground train from airport, we were sent overground and had to change and was stressed, but coming back we got 1 straight train from Colblanc straight to airport. Lots to do in Barcelona we found 2 nights was not enough, Saturday it rained so take an umberella to be on the safe side Sunday was a lovely day but started pouring about 5pm. we booked a bus tour for 1 day cheaper to book tickets online before going cost about £20 each. leave early and check timings for last bus as we missed last one and had to get taxi back to hotel which was expensive. Not sure if rooms were soundproof I could hear people talking outside our room which woke me up 2am, otherwise generally quiet. I would say check the places you want to visit as there is so much to see and keep the map on you and mark off what you want to see. We had paid for breakfast was ok eggs where mixed with bacon as muslims could not eat eggs so was not worth paying for. Loads of halal places to eat if you type into google. Le rambla was nice beaches were nice Did not even go and look at the roof top pool as weather was not that hot. would come again Collapse

Nice hotel, on arrival was asked if we would like to upgrade to a room with king size bed ect . 20 Euro per nights stay extra. Looked at both rooms the one we were allocated and the one for the extra 20 Euro. Only difference was , on a higher floor. ( same view) king size bed instead of two big singles , a bathrobe each , throw away slipppers each and a bottle of cava ! Not worth the extra money. Our room was nice , spacious, electric beds , ( nice touch ) and a big chair . You get two small shampoos and two small bath gel . Not replenished. You get 2 small waters each in the fridge not replenished. 2 teabags 2 coffee satchets and 2 whiteners(non replenished) its titled as a spa hotel but should've called a two hour spa hotel ! It is only free to use from 10 am till 12 ! 2 hours ! So if you want to come back after sight seeing and have a bit of relaxing time in the spa you can if you pay 19 Euro each ! They charge 3 Euro a pair of flip flops ! Waste of money as when you get in there you take them off ! We saw some in a shop after buying these for 1 99 Euro, proper flip flops . 10 Euro to hire the towel that's refundable . Staff are very nice and friendly. Nelson the security guard very polite. There is a kettle hair dryer iron and ironing board in each room . I did complain as when we raised the head board on the beds there was an empty bottle from previous guest and some dust . Told reception said it would be cleaned but it was still there the whole of our stay . Originally our daughter had booked this hotel for two nights but we decided to book an extra night a few months before we went . After the first nights stay we went back to our room to get showered and changed to go out but couldn't get into our room , went to reception, it was because this was classed as a new arrival and had to pay visitors tax again ! Strange though if it was a new stay as they put it why didn't our water ect get replenished ? Easy to get from the airport to the hotel 4 50 on the metro and then a five minute walk to hotel ! The tour bus is well worth it . 29 Euro each hop on and off ! Shame the pool wasn't open as the weather was fantastic 23 deg each day . Couldn't even sit up there to relax, reception said it was locked ! No where to sit outside to relax ! Nice pan shop opposite to have a croissant and a coffee for breakfast, nice baguette too . Got one from here to take to the airport much cheaper than the food at the airport. Very nice food at the el sonelo bar restaurant opposite hotel . Would I stay at this hotel again probably not !
