After an almost 24 hour flight from the UK, we arrived at the Seasons Hotel in Sydney, Australia absolutely knackered. We were made to feel very welcome by reception but no one helped us with our luggage. We were given our room number and pointed in the direction of the lift. It was a little difficult to operate the lift as you needed to swipe your room key for it to work, but nobody told us that and there were no instructions, I guess being so tired I wasn't as 'on the ball' as I could have been. Anyway, our room was a good size, and a camp bed had been put in the lounge area for our teenage son. There was a little kitchenette which had everything you'd need. Everything was spotlessly clean, staff are really knowledgeable but everything in the hotel could just do with a bit of a spruce up, it's looking quite tired and tatty in places. Wifi is available, $18 per 24hrs which I thought was quite a lot really, but having a teenage son it was bought. Once we had access it was very good to be fair. They have a swimming pool apparently but I never saw it, we didn't get any info about it, didn't see any signs for it. Only knew it existed because of photos on here. They could make more of the feature I think. It's unlikely that we'll be able to afford another trip to Australia from the UK so we probably would stay again, so overall, the hotel is OK, but could be so much better with a little effort. We stayed at Seasons for 5 days.Location of the hotel is excellent...close to Chinatown,Darling Harbour,Circular Quay and there are heaps of great restaurants/cafes.Be aware when you get a taxi from the airport to the hotel as the driver charged us an additional $11.50 for toll with total of almost $60 fare. We didnt even see the toll meter and the driver was quite rude. He should have informed us about the toll when we got into his taxi. Anyway, we got out of his taxi halfway and walked to the hotel. We arrived at the hotel around 8ish am and we were greeted by a Malay lady at the front desk. However, she couldnt let us checked in early as our room was not ready. We were given a room on level 8 with balcony. The corridor was dingy. The balcony was crap facing other rooms with no privacy at all. The room was not sound proof, dark, dusty, carpet and curtains had stains on them. The vanity was damaged and walls were dirty. Hairdryer didnt work either. We had to use credit cards to access the safe box and had to pay for WIFI??!!! Unbelievable!!! Worst of all, we had a sagging mattress full of dust mites! We had red spots all over our bodies. We confronted another receptionist ,a filipino guy named Pasang ( I hope I got his name correct). He was really nice and helped us the best way he could to make our stay comfortable. We got another room on level 6 with window. The room was a bit better however, there was no safe box, smoke detector was covered with Coles plastic bag and floorboard need to be replaced. Unable to use the hotel's pool/spa as they are closed until end of the year. Overall, it was not worth paying AUD250 a night with no breakfast. The hotel is poorly maintained and will NOT stay here again... Collapse

Arrived for one nights stay new years day before starting and east coast tour. Firstly not impressed have a fear of lifts after being stuck in one and i had no choice but to have panic attacks and go in them. Apparently there was no stairs from the reception to floor one. but i could get the stairs from floor one :S surely this is against health and safety regulations? Secondly they put on us on the 17th floor great.... so I had to climb a heap load of stairs following a full on panic attack after each short lift journey. So the aprtment itself was decorated nicely and was bigger then we thought. When we saw the washing machine and tumbledryer we thought great as we had been travelling new zealand we had a lot to wash and dry so chucked some on. Well that was a mistake as the tumbledryer worked for two minutes and then would turn off unless you stood and held the door shut so we went on to our next destination with a bag of wet clothes just what we wanted! So next bad thing being on the 17th floor in the height of summer it was stifiling, the place was so hot like sweat dripping off of you constantly hot so as any normal human being would do so we went to turn the aircon on to find that too didn't work!! When we complained about this we were later presented outside our room with on fan!!! What a joke!!! It did nothing!! Finally the jucuzzi bath that didn't work either. Poor poor establishment especially when we paid £114 for the night which in the UK i stayed at the hilton london docklands for only £99 (and that included breakfast!!) so I am appaled that we were not offered any money back!
