Stayed here for one week at the end of July / start of August, 2017. Arrival - first impressions were positive, and set the tone for a generally very good experience. Check-in was fast. Staff friendly. All staff were very helpful, but a special shout out to Miguel Angel who went the extra mile. Found a very welcome bottle of cold water in the fridge when we arrived in our room. Complex generally, but not always, clean. See comment in my 'negatives section about overflowing bins. Room was spotless. Windows had excellent black-out curtains, so early morning sun didn't interfere with sleep. Bedroom window had bars outside, so the window could be safely left open at night. Patio door in living room was difficult to lock. Windows and doors provided good sound insulation. There was some night time noise outside. Bathroom was good. I've started bringing a UV light with me when I go on holiday in order to check bathroom cleanliness - this bathroom wasn't immaculate, but it was one of the cleaner bathrooms I've encountered. Large shower area, with fixed overhead shower AND a separate hand held shower. Water temperature was a bit erratic - occasionally it suddenly got much hotter, but it didn't burn. Towels were of a good standard. I initially thought the air conditioning was feeble and noisy, but when I came into the room on the first afternoon when the temperature outside was 35+ degrees, the room seemed really cool. The a/c unit in our room worked well. I'd recommend thoroughly airing the rooms and the bathroom after showers. A decent sized flat-screen TV had several English language channels. CBBC available for anglophone children. Swimming pools (several of them) were busy, and (mostly) well supervised. Good variety of depths for everyone from toddlers to geriatrics! Sun loungers were in good condition. Pool surfaces were also in good condition - no loose tiles or other issues. Plenty of parasols. WiFi was excellent. Multiple devices permitted, but only one at a time! However, from the second day, I had problems getting my iPad to connect to the internet. Other devices (Android and Windows) worked fine. Car hire available at reception. Avis / Budget car rental office about 300 metres away on main road (on the corner of Carretera d'Arta and Av. de Nicolau Riera Marsá) and loads of smaller, local car hire companies available nearby. Beds firm. Bed linen clean, but some had a a lot of lint in it. Bed linen changed every three days. Rooms not large, but adequate for a family of four. Kitchenette well equipped, and everything was clean. First hotel / apartment complex I've come across where they do not throw out unused washing up liquid left by previous guests - make sense, and was very welcome. If you don't want to take a chance using someone else's washing up liquid, you can throw it out yourself. Tea towel provided. If you've read this far and found any of what I've written helpful, please give me a helpful vote!! Beach is about ten minutes away, when walking at the pace of a six year old who is distracted by everything along the way. At a normal pace, its five minutes from Sea Club. Beach is superb. Fine sand, clear water, loads of loungers available for €6.50 per day, and plenty of free space for anyone who would prefer to just spread a beach towel and avoid the cost of the lounger. Negatives! Tiny red light flashing in smoke detector was an irritant at night. In our apartment, it was covered on day two, and uncovered when we were leaving. After a week, I still couldn't figure out how to turn on light over the dining table. Have to assume the bulb was blown! Light in kitchen area is hidden under counter, and light switch is a touch-sensitive panel at one end of the light - the blue indicator light is almost invisible during the day, but acts as a night light in the sitting room at night. Bins in public areas were often overflowing, with loads of rubbish and bags left beside them in the evenings. Sea Club Resort needs (1) bigger and more bins, or (2) more frequent emptying of bins, or both Sea Club policy on lounger booking is farcical. They have notices everywhere advising that they will remove towels used to book loungers, but they generally turn a blind eye to the practice, which is rampant. I did see a lifeguard removing towels once - more of this would benefit everyone. Nearby restaurants. Although I am a regular user of and contributor to Tripadvisor, I recommend that others take some rankings on Tripadvisor with a large pinch of salt! Tripadvisor users rate The Foxes Arms, The Boat and Anchor and Woody Woodpeckers respectively as the number 10, 16 and 24 restaurants in Port d'Alcudia. Maybe I shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but having visited each, looked at the menu and seen what the ' restaurants' look like, I certainly wouldn't eat in any of them. 'Greasy spoon' is the image evoked upon arrival at each. For the Blue Sapphire, (5 minutes by foot from Sea Club) you will need to make a reservation. We didn't have one, and were turned away. Bistro Jardin is two minutes away from Sea Club, but the menu won't appeal to picky or unadventurous eaters. On our first evening, we arrived too late to eat. On the second evening, we spent a long time looking, and out of fear that we might not get to eat again, we entered Los Palmitos where the food was 'not bad', but wouldn't entice me to return or to recommend it to others. Service was extremely slow, and the completely raw part of my 'well done' steak was left on the plate! Live music may make it more attractive, but that seems to be to compensate for the food! On our third evening, we ate in Ola's, and I have reviewed it separately. Fourth , fifth and sixth evenings, we ate in Restaurant Aqua, which I have also reviewed and can recommend. Seventh evening, we ate in the old port area - again we left it too late and finished up eating in one of the many 'average' restaurants. Supermarkets Several within a minute's walk. The closest is in the complex, just behind reception. Two are across the street, and two more are 150 metres north. They all sell the same basic essentials, and all the beach related stuff. Kids club Two separate clubs - one for kids from three to seven years of age, and one for those over seven. Pony rides on Wednesdays at 10:30. No advance booking, just turn up at Block A, but turn up a little bit early to save yourself a longer wait while other get their turn. Details of all kids club activities are on a wall in the bar opposite reception, and they are also included in two separate weekly updates available from reception at check-in. You need to ask for this information, as, bizarrely, it wasn't offered when we checked in. I've tried to attach the schedules for the week we spent there, to give you an idea of what the activities and times are like. Reception area ATM is available just behind reception desk. PC and printer available beside ATM. Luggage trollies available just to the left of the reception door as you enter from the street - slightly hidden from view. Restaurant - we were on a 'room only' booking, and ate out all the time, so I can't comment on the food in The Med restaurant, but it was generally busy, although not full, at lunch time and in the evening. Also outside reception, each night a caricature / cartoon artist attends. For €30, we got a b/w caricature of our daughters, but we found that we had paid 50% more than the same we would have paid for the same product in the old town area. Cartoons make a great momentos - get one! Animation team provide evening entertainment - it's amateur, but it is entertaining. The loudspeaker volume is too high, and the sound quality is poor, apart from when they play recorded music. The staff who present children's entertainment are probably accustomed to the volume of music in night clubs, and are possibly slightly deaf because of it, but they shouldn't be assaulting our children's ears with night club volume levels. The multi-lingual guy who presents most of the shows also speaks far too fast, and is therefore loud and unintelligible in several languages!!! A laundry facility is available in Block C. Access to a gym is also available for guests. Bike hire available at reception. Beauty Zone - do a great kids' massage - €24 for 30 minutes, and my two girls both really enjoyed it. Have a variety of other good treatments and massages also. If you're still reading this, I must surely now deserve a helpful vote!! Go on, please! Collapse

Stayed 2 weeks in 1 bed in block c, apartment much smaller than brochure and unfortunately wasn't cleaned when we arrived so we had to go back to reception and ask for it to be cleaned, in fairness they were apologetic, rooms were cleanish could have done with a bit of bleach in the shower & loo, maids were in most days but depending of which maid came in , some done more than others , floors were maybe swept every 3rd day, would have been better if they provided apartment with a sweeping brush, the very small balcony was never swept & the plastic furniture was dirty L shaped setee was the kids beds and was fine, as was the double bed, Air con was good as was WiFi ( only 1 person could use WiFi at a time) ,. Pool area was nice , did have to be on your lounger by 8:30 to get one,I did see the lifeguard remove towels on occasion, Evening entertainment was ok, the usual hard working teams but quite a lot of miming, sofia had a great singing Voice & Ian was good fun,the team worked hard though as they had activities all through the day also, yoga, water aerobics, pistol & rifle shooting, along with all the kids club activities, Location was good, very near lots of restaurants, for Tex MEX try the lake house, delicious and reasonable as most of the rest had much the same menus, also woody woodpeckers if you felt like a taste of home, Beach was lovely and about 10 minutes walk, We ate in snack bar which was nice, never tried the buffet, Beauty salon was reasonably priced , we didn't try the gym which were located in block D (which was across the road from the main complex,) Overall it was good but was expecting better for the price & relieved we were in block C & not D, apparently we payed for deluxe apartment so I would not like to have stayed in the 'non deluxe' Collapse
