4 night stay. Although not the closest to the city the metro L4 line literally 1 mins walk away meant getting around was easy as it was a great line to be on. Add to that you are so close to the beach, a great shopping center and convenient for driving north if you have a car missing the city traffic. Check in was delayed by 1 hour and because of that they gave us access to exec lounge and spa for entire stay which made up for it. Pool is great a little cold but refreshing. Rooms are large and very dark so easy to sleep bed is comfortable. The breakfast buffet is one of the best I have ever had for quality and choice. It costs 18 euro each so if you can get it cheaper by including it in package when you book I would recommend. There aren't too many other breakfast options around the area. Staff very helpful. We paid for the upgrade to include the Executive Lounge which was "not very Executive" at all, in fact pretty shocking throughout and very poorly managed. It was clear there was no management oversight from an operations perspective and the hotel have clearly cut back on the staffing of this area. At one point in the day there were no glasses to pour any drinks into, no ice, fridges were poorly stocked up and nothing was faced up or presented well and many of the plates were dirty. The toilet door lock was broken, the place was filthy inside and out with used glasses and food debris everywhere and children were just helping themselves with no supervision which surprised me as technically these children had unsupervised access to alcohol, I thought this level was over 18s !! There was little or no food available at the key walk in times like 7pm, this was repeated in the afternoon. This is the 7th year staying at this hotel and the executive lounge facility was the reason I booked the hotel, but over the last couple of years it seems to have gone downhill and has got progressively worse. I thought last year's poor service was a one off but it was poor for the two days I stayed there this year. It is the last time I would consider upgrading for the executive lounge in future and may actually not book there at all next year. I did complain to reception but there was no attempt whatsoever to recover the service or offer any form of compensation which I thought was a missed opportunity and has cost them a couple of customers as a result. The hotel is situated very close to the beach and was ideally situated for the Primavera festival. Checking in was problematic because they initially couldn't find our reservation - we had to provide printed proof (luckily we had the forethought for this). Our room also wasn't ready at the stipulated time and we ended up being reallocated a room. The rooms are decently sized and kept well. There isn't much of a view from most rooms. The rooftop pool and bar were a plus, it boasted a better view but nothing I'd take a picture of. I think the breakfast is overly priced for what is offered, based on what we experienced at other hotels. Given this we chose not to have breakfast at the hotel. A lot of public transport options are in close proximity which makes commuting to and from the hotel relatively easy. There's a large mall a stones throw away and a lot of little cafes and restaurants. All in all the experience was enjoyable and relatively affordable. Collapse

This hotel is not at the centre of Barcelona but if you are confident on the metro the stop is just across the road and is good value and easy to use. There is the beach a short stroll away beautiful beach cafes with delicious food. Cocktails go down a treat. We were upgraded to use the 15th floor which was very nice, snacks and a drink late afternoon before heading out laterfor the evening looking out to sea was very nice. We didn't have the hotel buffet breakfast at €16 we chose instead to use the small cafe just across the road. Great staff good food. Most of the staff at the hotel were exceptional the man who took our luggage to the cupboard until needed was so helpful as were the reception staff. Only disappointment was the bar we decided to have an evening testing it out,a great shame poor staff several disgruntled guests. We waited so long for our drinks we got our money back and moved on. But this would not deter me from returning to this hotel the room was excellent we had a superb break. Collapse
