Krakow is a beautiful city and three nights were not enough to see all we would have liked. Trips to Auschwitz and the salt mines were excellent and provided by a company called Around Krakow. The Santi Hotel was not a traditional hotel as it was opened in 2013 after the conversion from a monastery. Our room was large and clean with a modern bathroom. Unfortunately our room was at the front of the hotel with the trams running right outside, they stopped overnight but started at 05.30 am which kept us awake. Breakfast was good with a wide selection of dishes. No bar or any other facilities - very much a bed and breakfast establishment. If you can get a room facing the back I would still recommend as the staff were lovely and the rooms were very comfortable. The hotel is very central and well within walking distance of the main square etc. Pod Baranem restaurant is the only one with a dedicated gluten free menu and as my husband is coeliac we ate there every evening. The food was excellent, and only a 7 to 10 minute walk from the hotel. Collapse

This a great hotel. It is full of history and character. We have stopped here twice in the last year. The rooms are huge, well equipped maintaining many of the features. An addition of air con is welcome as Kraków can be very hot. The staff are fantastic, very friendly and very helpful. They booked all of trips, some months before we arrived, some immediately, nothing we asked was a trouble. Breakfast is a buffet style but also on an early start the staff put up packed meals for us. The location is great, a 2 minute walk to the historic town square, with all the bars restaurants and shops you'll need. There is a tram that runs at the front of the hotel, if you are a light sleeper ask for a room at the back or use the provided ear plugs, to be honest other reviews mention it but we haven't had a problem. We stayed for 4 nights a party of 7 of us and booked direct with the hotel. Collapse

The location of this hotel is great: right between Old Town and the Jewish Quarter. Krakow is a small place, and everything is walkable from Hotel Santi. The service is great. I emailed extensively with the hotel to get all the tourist details organized before our arrival. They are speedy and informative. The hotel itself is quite charming, an old residence. Our room - 107 - is the one they feature most prominently. It's huge, stone walls, exposed beams. Fresh flowers in the room, welcome wine bottle. Probably the only negative things I would say, in general, are that the hotel is right on the tram line, so you can hear the rumble day and night. Not a big deal. There is free internet, but it is painfully slow. Here are some things I would like to suggest to hotel management that would make the guest experience in the rooms five star. It seems the furniture (desk, closet, TV stand, headboard & night tables) may have been purchased for all the hotel rooms. They provide inadequate dresser space, closet space. There really was no place to put the two bath towels (on our bed upon arrival) except the floor. An upgrade in room furniture would be nice. The bathroom is really small, but there is room for a larger side cabinet for storage of toiletry articles. Please upgrade your waste baskets from those annoying little metal ones you have to step on to open. Just a large basket or two will suffice in the room. Breakfast is adequate, but nothing special, as the room for breakfast is very small. On the whole, a very nice stay and we would highly recommend. Collapse

We stayed for 4 nights during a very cold December and it was a lovely hotel. Location was perfect so close to the square with its shops, bars etc (and the best hot chocolate shop is only a few steps away). It's very easy to find, we got the train from the airport then a 15-20 min walk to the hotel. The breakfast was good, a nice selection and the perfect way to start the day in the cold weather. All rooms are different and have lots if character, ours was so big (I mean the biggest we've ever had 'big'!) and looked out over the main street. If you're on that side of the hotel and a light sleeper then ear plugs are available as the trams tend to start early. All staff were lovely too. It was such a lovely find, will use again without hesitation. Collapse

When we were looking into a place to stay in Krakow, we saw so many options but this one stood out from all the rest. We just hoped it was not a pic of the one nice room in a hotel full of smaller rooms. We were not disappointed one bit. Not only is it in the best location - just a block off the main square - but it is also on a small street off the main line and our room was AMAZING! Quite large and beautifully appointed on the back side of the building with incredible made to order breakfasts and exquisite in every detail with a wonderful staff! Not only would we stay there again, we truly cannot imagine staying anywhere else in Krakow where we had traveled before and stayed in other parts of the city. Countless restaurants of every description minutes walk away and only about 15 minutes walk from the Wawel castle where we visited several times. This is one hotel you will enjoy staying in as much as visiting the many amazing sites to see all around you. Suggestions: book early, go for the deluxe rooms and try to ask for a room is on the back side of the hotel for quiet overlooking the central courtyard in the center of the block. We can't wait to go back!! Collapse
