Venusian icon, this lovely Hotel was very well situated within walking distance to all the key tourist spots, San Marco's, the Rialto Bridge, lovely cafes and excellent shopping. My aunt and I spent three nights in Venice and enjoyed every minute of it. The traditional Italian room was small but very well formed having all the necessary bits to make for a very comfortable stay. The only thing that was a problem was that the shower was over the bath and is not suitable for anyone with a disability. The buffet breakfast was excellent. The staff were warm, welcoming and very helpful, supplying us with all the maps, tourist information and support necessary to book tours. The hotel was clean and the beds firm, everything was in working order, including the air-conditioning. I would certainly recommend this Hotel and hope to visit Venice and the Santa Marina Hotel again in the near future. Collapse

We were upgraded from our original booking at Ca' Marinella. Very happy with friendliness of staff. Room was on 2nd floor and loved it's charm. Breakfast was free which was a perk because there are not very many breakfast places in Venice. This room was definitely and upgrade from where we previously stayed in Venice. Would stay here again considering how pricey other hotels can be in Venice. Collapse

We arrived in Venice at 9 am on April 22, 2017. The water Taxi dropped us off near the Rialto Bridge and we were given a horrible map and we had to schlep our luggage through the streets of Venice to our hotel. Of course the map was no help, up and down over bridges and through alley ways, getting lost and finally arriving after a half hour of asking everyone where the hotel was. Since we arrived early, we gave them our luggage and was told to come back later to check in. No problem, I expected that, but didn't want a waste a single second in Venice. We ran back to the Rialto Bridge to search for the Venezia Card that I had purchased a month prior to get us into the museums, churches, transportation,Wifi, bathrooms, and of course we purchased the bathroom pass.(Can't miss the bathroom stops). Any way, for future reference, they screwed us out of the bathroom visits, it did not down load to our Venezia card. Everything else was fine, and worth it. You really don't need the bathroom. We got back to the hotel at 4ish, exhausted from running around. The concierge checked us in and we were lead out of the hotel (??? - we didn't know where we were going), down the block and into another building- Ca Marinella. We went to the side of the interior stairs and were lead to what appeared to be a basement apartment. The doorway was about 3 inches above my head. (I am 5'5"), my husband who is 6 foot had to duck under the doorway, then hit his head on the ceiling in the room- one of the low beams. Everything was in order in the room, and in style suited for this hotel. I told the Bellhops who brought our luggage if they can bring us to a room that was taller so my husband wouldn't hit his head and that I rather be in the main part of the hotel. They brought us back to the lobby and told us they only had one room left. This room was on the first floor. Not a problem. It was very stuffy in the room. I asked if the air worked, they said only the heat for this time of year, but I could open the window. The only catch was that the 2 windows in our room- one from the bedroom and one from the bathroom both opened to the breakfast room- YES, I KIDD YOU NOT! There was the constant noise of someone in the breakfast room. The help setting up for breakfast the next day, then early in the morning the guest. And of course the lack of privacy in the bathroom- LOL! All in all the hotel is not a 4 star hotel- not in American Standards. It was a nice room - just keep in mind you are not in America- There is a Bidet, a toilet and the showers are different. The room is clean, The breakfast was free, and although not your version of an American breakfast- it was Continental and very good. The staff in the hotel was very friendly and extremely helpful with directions, with suggestions, and even called to have a restaurant stay open for us to have dinner in late one night because we fell asleep (Dinner at 10pm). I had a wonderful time in Venice and cannot wait to go back. The food in Venice was amazing! The location of the hotel was within a few minutes walking distance to everything great- just get lost, and catch your bearings of how to navigate the streets. It wasn't that hard once you lose yourself. So go, drink the wine, Eat the food, lose yourself and fall in love with all Venice has to offer! We did....... Ciao! Collapse
