This place was great from the moment you walk in! The smell they have pumping in the lobby is like none other. The resort was clean, everyone was so very friendly and our room was everything we could have imagined. The balcony, although VERY tiny, did provide a great view of the beach and watching Ridley ring the bell at sunset. THe pool and beach area were busy, but very peaceful. This hotel is very pricey, but worth it if you book ahead of time. The beds were the only thing my girlfriend and I didn't really enjoy. They could use a comforter and a softer bed in general. VERY firm. Two tvs in the suite was a big plus. I look forward to staying here again soon, but will request a mattress pad and more blankets. Collapse

This hotel is quite fantastic! Champagne upon check in, lots of smiles and assurances, kids club is fun with great games and activities, gorgeous location on my favorite beach of all time. White sand, clean, and a private beach for the hotel guests. While I would love to give this place a 5, I can see the front line people striving for perfection, the follow through of service on the back end isn’t 100%. We’ll be back, for sure, it’s sort of a sentimental place to visit, with it’s 100+ year old bell on location that has been rung at sun set every night, all these years, from the hotel that sat here before the Sandpearl was built. We have 5 children aged 7 to 17 and memories of bringing our oldest to this area has captured our hearts. This hotel is the best place here! A tweek in the back end service would pay big dividends. Concierge did refer us to a website for purchasing area tickets, had they pulled it up right then, for my husband, it would have been optimal and what one would expect from a hotel of this caliber. Still quite fantastic! Collapse

I was here for business. This appears to be a nice family resort hotel or would be good for even just adults. The staff was very nice--I was greeted with a mimosa! The rooms are superior. Nice touches throughout the stay with turndown service which seems small until you don't get it on the last night (my fault--they stopped by but I was in the shower) and you miss the lights, chocolate, cards, and music. My one complaint was my view was very third string. I was a late attendee to this conference and maybe that's all that was available. But I was on the third floor which made for easy walking up and down the stairs but I was facing away from the water so I looked out over the roof. The common areas were nice and they do a nice job celebrating sunset. Some cool looking activities for kids too including a fire pit for smores. Also a nice bigger fire pit for adults (although it appears some college kids had taken it over the night I was there). Also a nice bar that adjoins right up to the sand. Collapse

I did a lot of research on where to stay in Clearwater and discovered the Sand Pearl. Counting down to our arrival, escaping from a cold, snowy winter in Michigan I checked out YouTube videos of the place and read many reviews on nearly a daily basis. The ride from the airport was a bit frustratingly slow due to lots of traffic, but finally we arrived! We were warmly greeted at the door by women wearing matching coral tops and a string of pearls. Oh, the sandPEARL...I get it. Nice touch! Even though I hinted for a birthday upgrade at the front desk, the person checking us in acted like she didn’t even hear what I said but I think they were fully booked anyway so I washed away my slight disappointment with a complimentary glass of champagne provided at check in. The resort is top notch. Clean and well decorated and relaxing! We spent several days eating at the beach front restaurant Tate’s and mostly staring at gently swaying palm trees around the pool. There are lots of palm trees! And there is a lot of comfortable outdoor seating in a great variety of styles. The staff was excellent! They were a great combination of being helpful but not intrusive. Some places the staff can be a bit overbearing trying to connect with guests. This was not the case here. If you want to relax, eat good food and feel good...this is the place for you (and me! I miss it and and want to go back!) I am also a sunset aficionado and the Sand Pearl is the place to be. Every night it was a sunset celebration where for some reason they walk out a giant stuffed turtle as the sun goes down who rings a bell at sunset, which actually made it fun as well as breathtaking. Just a couple of “things.” Technically the hotel is on the beach. But it is a healthy walk down a level, past the pool and through the gate and out a few hundred yards to the actual water. And we had a couple of interesting experiences at the hotel’s other restaurant Caretta’s. The first night we were told we couldn’t sit outside because all the tables were booked. An hour and a half later they were still empty. We returned a few nights later and told the same thing. It seemed like they weren’t necessarily equipped to serve all the outdoor tables. The other “thing” was I felt like it was not inexpensive to have a partial view of the ocean. Which we did if you looked out to the left. Our main view however was of a nearby parking lot where they emptied a giant dumpster promptly at 6am every morning. So even though you’re “on the water” you won’t be falling asleep to the sound of the waves unless you book a full water view. Even then it may be more of a visual vs hearing the waves. Despite those things I would highly recommend the Sand Pearl and would definitely stay there again! Collapse

Our family enjoyed the resort very much. The place is really pretty and has friendly and helpful staff. We liked our room except for one thing.. suites have shuttered windows in the bathroom so privacy is not great. The pool and beach area are gorgeous but service was slow for drinks at the pool though the food was awesome. We never used our car so unless you plan to explore I would just shuttle from the airport. Collapse
