Totally unacceptable when your now paying for the parking, you should have to hang a permit from your mirror or be towed The room was really nice ,bed was comfortable. Collapse
Same lovable Sandman, but let's keep on top of the shuttle changes!

This Sandman has been our favourite airport hotel in recent years. From spotless premises, a snack bar in the lobby, an indoor doorway which links the hotel to the Moxie's restaurant and bar and friendly staff, I'm laying out up front that I find the Sandman meets our every need and we expect to visit there again. Years ago, the shuttle service -- how can I put this? -- sucked. That was rectified a couple of years ago. However, a little gremlin has crept into the communication system and it can leave a customer frustrated. Here's how it goes. When you leave your vehicle at the Sandman and go away on holiday, you will use the shuttle service. If you need a ride to, or from, any terminal at Lester B. Pearson International Airport, you will use the shuttle service. At Sandman's reception, staff will give you a business card an it gives you a number to call and tells you which post to wait at. For example, at the arrivals level, the card will show you to wait at post C22. I write this to save you grief folks. But first, a gentle nudge to somebody on staff at the Sandman. Take all those business cards, I respectfully suggest, and change that C22 post number to a 7/37. About a month ago, the C22 post stopped being the stop for the Sandman shuttle. In fact, either post number 7, or post number 37, now serve as a pickup stop for arrrivals at this Toronto airport. Nobody told me that when I was given the card just over a week ago, as I left for an out-of-country holiday. I found out the hard way last weekend, arriving at this airport at about 2 a.m. I called the Sandman number on the card that I had been given and was prepared to go to post C22. The telephone rang and a recorded message told me to enter an extension number. Wait a minute! There is no extension number on the card. I redialed thinking that I would start entering random extension numbers for as long as my quarters at the payphone lasted. However, on my second dialing effort, my call was answered and it turned out to be the front desk which, in turn, contacted the shuttle driver. This person also told me about the change to either post seven, or thirty-seven for pickup. Phew! It all worked out. The shuttle driver told me that when people call in on the number they provide, they should hold on....even as they are being asked for an extension number.....and somebody will answer. There is also a different Sandman telephone number on the back of the card which one can call, if the number on the front doesn't connect you. Smooth this out, I suggest respectfully, and everything at the Sandman will be 100%! The rooms we had were excellent. The housekeeping was excellent. A Sandman staff member welcomed me in the elevator as I moved to the sixth floor. Nice. Overall, the Sandman is still our hotel of choice when we have to stay over at Toronto airport. Collapse

Stayed here before a morning flight out of YYZ. The location is a 10-minute shuttle (free, runs every 30 minutes on the half-hour) from Pearson terminals. We had dinner at Moxies in the lobby the night before the flight (well done, separate review). The property itself is clean and reasonably well appointed. A few people hit the pool and hot tub before dinner. All good. The downside to this property is the noise. Crowds of people in the halls (not the hotel's fault) were noisy, and the acoustics felt like they were right in the room with us. The HVAC system was also loud, on and off frequently through the night. Nice convenient property, decent pricing and value, but the lack of sleeps kills the rating. Collapse

Stayed night before flying out and night upon return. Booked rooms on-line and also to leave car there for week. Check in was smooth with no issues. Very helpful staff. Room was spacious and clean. Shuttle arrived on time and driver helped with luggage. On return flight called for shuttle pick up and was directed to post with estimated arrival time of shuttle. When we arrived at post we were surprised to see the shuttle bus already there picking up passengers. Heard driver ask person in front of me if he was going to the Sandman so didn't ask myself. Surprised when we started heading down the 401 but again assumed we were dropping off at other hotels first. Surprised when we pulled up the Sandman Mississauga as I did not realize there was more than one..duh. Driver was very understanding and said he would drop us off at the correct one!! I was sure his reply would have been I'm taking you back to the airport and you can wait for the right shuttle so was VERY happy. Great experience with all aspects of the Sandman AIRPORT Hotel Collapse
