I looked at some of the reviews on trip adviser for this hotel before we left the uk. Some of the reviews were absolute rubbish. We found the Hotel to be very good, we had no problems. Nice clean room, comfortable bed, nice bathroom with shower, fridge, tv in room, very little noise, would have been good to have a kettle for tea & coffee in room, good customer service. We did not eat in hotel so cannot comment but we did have drinks at bar, a little overpriced. ( Lots of local cafes nearby ) We found location OK a little walk to town centre but no problem, Taxi & bus very easy to locate reasonable prices taxi to town centre only 6€. Airport taxi easy set charge 25€ We did ask for room at top of hotel at back in new block ( this may be why we had no noise ) Room 309 I would just say we had a great stay at this Hotel but no way is it 4 stars I would rate it as 3 stars, however we would definitely stay in the San Gill hotel again. We loved Seville and highly recommend a visit Lots to see & do. Steve Uk. Collapse

The San Gill is a little tricky to find at first, so it's best to get a taxi from the airport. Fixed price of 30 euros and about a 20 minute drive. The staff were very friendly on arrival and throughout the stay, providing information about places to go and the best way to get there. We had a junior suite overlooking the courtyard. The rooms were quiet, spacious and clean. The bed is two singles pushed together. One disappointment was the shower. It is an over the bath mixer shower, which had good pressure, but a very poor shower head, so only a small amount of you got wet at a time. There is a mini bar, but no kettle and tea/coffee making facilities. There is a safe, but this has to be paid for on a daily rate. I have never been charged for a room safe before in any hotel. Wifi was excellent. I had no problems at all. Breakfast was not the best I have had. There is an adequate range of the usual sorts of food and drink, but it was not great quality. The fresh fruit was fine, but the baked goods, clearly came from an outside source and were all the same shade of pale brown and rather dry. There were cold boiled eggs or scrambled eggs which tasted like powdered and a Spanish omelette, which was tasty, but variable in temperature, parts being very cold and others luke warm. There was no option for a freshly poached or fried egg. Pancakes are bought in in plastic bags and put in a chafing dish, consequently they were never hot. The courtyard is a lovely place to sit, with a little fountain surrounded by orange and olive trees. The hotel is in the Macarena area of the city and has plenty of tapas bars within walking distance. Some of the sights are in walking distance, such as the Parasol. Be aware that the streets are cobbled, so not easy walking if you have difficulties. Public transport is excellent, we used the C4 bus frequently to get to every area of the city. It is a 1.40 euro flat fare for as many stops as you need. The tram is the same price, you have to buy the ticket for this from a machine at the tram stop. The tour bus is useful for finding your bearings and includes some walking tours, but at 20 euros, you have to use it a lot to get value for money in the allocated time. Collapse

Stayed here last July as had stayed about 15 years previously and wondered what the differences would be like. As other reviews have stated it is really best not to drive here as the roads are very narrow and the parking is extremely tight and located in the next road in an underground garage. We paid 18 euros per day for this. We were placed in a disabled access room right off reception and even there the wi fi was possibly the worst I have ever had in a hotel anywhere. I just gave up. There was a small hallway between the bedroom and the front door to the reception and this was the only place I could actually get sporadic wi fi. There was also a bright orange light that would switch on when the lights were off in the bedroom.I presume this was a safety feature but I did not sleep because it was so bright! There is also a room safe but for the privilege of using this you have to pay 2 euros a day and then carry the key around with you.I could fit in my small laptop but it would not fit a larger laptop. The room itself was large with a huge wardrobe and a large bathroom. Breakfast was plentiful and had a really good choice with plenty of seats available in the pleasant courtyard. There are plenty of sunbathing spaces considering the location of the hotel and a small refreshing pool. The Macarena district is very different to how it was when I last stayed here and now there are lots of restaurants and bars within several minutes walk .Alameda Hercules being a great place to visit for food, drink and general people watching.
