Have visited this Hotel before and have been very satisfied. We did have initial problem with room we were given. After informing reception this was sorted to our satisfaction.Yes the decor in the Hotel is dated however I feel it deserves a 5 star review as you cannot fault the Food,Drinks and cleanliness of Hotel or the service you receive from the staff in all areas. We went all inclusive and I would recommend and return again to the Hotel Thanks to all. This could be a really fantastic hotel, but is let down in so many ways. It is ideally sited in a very attractive location, handy for everything. Check in was brilliant, our luggage whisked up to our room in no time, The room was adequate but with no views, other than tennis courts, which is not what we paid for. The room was clean with bottled water and laundered towels left every day. The dining room was very dated, the carpet disgusting, they should have mats to wipe your feet on the way out. There is supposed to be a long trousers for men rule at the evening meal, which was not enforced, some men sitting in shorts, vests and flip flops. If they are going to have signs outside the restaurants declaring this, then impose it or drop it altogether. The food on the whole was OK nothing special, but the staff were good. Most of the staff in the upstairs bar made it seem as if they did not want to be there. After having one drink my sister in law approached the bar because staff were just walking past us. Having asked for drinks for her and myself she was given drinks is good quality tumbler type glasses, but when she produced our 'all inclusive' cards was very rudely rebuked by a member of the bar staff, stating she should have produced these cards before ordering. On hearing his tone I got up and asked the reason for this, as it states in brochures and the hotel web site that all spirits are 'Premier' brands, he blustered but could only offer the excuse that it was hotel rules, leaving me to draw the conclusion that there must be double standards being employed somewhere! The system of having cards and signing for every single thing for all inclusive customers made us feel like second class citizens, ruining our holiday. Having said that, the staff at the pool bar/restaurant were mostly great. If I was ever to think of returning to this hotel, which is very improbable, it would certainly not be on an 'all inclusive' basis, waste of money! My reviews are normally as positive as I can make them, giving places the benefit of the doubt with regards to poor points, but in this case I can only speak as I found. Sorry, not for me! Collapse
Good but room for improvement

we stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and we have mixed views. on our arrival we had a room which was facing a garden and the road. we was unhappy with this room so we asked if we can change rooms and got a straight NO we are fully booked, even though we saw people arrive throughout the day so they could of easily changed us, the following day we had a call telling us they had given our room to someone else and we must get out of the room within the next 5-10 mins so it can be ready for the arrivals this was unexpected as we was told they where full, this new room had a very good view from the balcony. we found the staff quite rude at the reception unless you are paying for something such as fridge or safe. food wise it is mixed views, they have a fair selection but is not the best especially if your fussy.most nights it was possible to find something wether it was rice and chips or chicken legs etc apart from one night where they served rabbit but breakfast was really nice. people say the resturant carpet is frayed down to concrete but it really is not, it is worn yes but not to noticeable but when eating i dont tend to eye up carpets. entertainment was not great at all it has to be the worst ive seen/heard for a long time it was just 2 people all week who couldnt sing. bar area does need updating regarding seating as it is torn and frayed. facilities are good and the location is brilliant. the rooms are standard spanish hotel rooms, nice pool areas and leads onto the beach which is good. staff attitudes and the entertainment makes this hotel a massive let down. Pools did not seem heated at all, and having to wear trousers/jeans for dinner is ridiculous as it is so hot outside it is unbareable, this hotel is full of 60+ year olds and is not for younger than that. people also put towels on sunbeds at 7am and dont go back to them untill 2pm-3pm this shouldnt be allowed but for 2 of us it wasnt to hard to find any but the hotel is not worth the money paid! We ended up staying at the San Antonio as we booked very late and all of our chosen hotels were fully booked or didn't allow two-night stays. There seemed to be a few negative comments on Trip Advisor but we were pleasantly surprised with the hotel. Yes it is old and could do with a renovation, but this shows in the price. A beachfront hotel with everything modernised would be at least double the price if not triple! Check-in was a bit slow and burocratic but the staff pleasant and efficient. We got a five percent discount for being canary island residents! Our room, 2218 was perfect. The sea view was stunning and we were not overlooked. It had an east facing balcony from where you could watch the sunrise and in the distance see the first planes arriving (the airport is closed at night). The twin beds were comfy, plenty of storage space, TV, good lighting, good air con, safe, mini bar...The bathroom had a bath tub with an overhead shower, sink and bidet. Nice fresh towels and basic toiletries. Simple but perfect. The room was very quiet, no noise from the neighbours or corridors. The buffet breakfast was excellent, a great choice of hot and cold food, the only item I missed was smoked salmon. You helped ypurself to tea and coffee and you were not rushed. The restaurant was bright and airy with an outdoor and covered area too. The staff were very friendly, Felix filled us in on different aspects of the island and there was a lovely waitress (I don't remember her name, from Gran Canaria) who was very warm and welcoming. The pool area was nice, when we got back to the hotel at 3pm we did have difficulty in finding two sunbeds together. There were also lots of people smoking which was a tad unpleasant. The pool was clean and well-maintained. It is fantastic to be right by the beach and sea. At night we ate out, the hotel is in a superb position with plenty of restaurants nearby. There is a small Spar supermarket just a short walk away, great for bottled water and chocolate. There are also plenty of shops along the main promenade. The car park at the hotel is easy to use and we had no trouble finding a nice shady spot. We will return to the San Antonio, it's in a perfect position, just a short drive from the airport, the breakfast is good and the rooms clean and very pleasant. The staff nice and the atmosphere warm and relaxed. Very good value. Collapse
