Just returned from 9 day stay at San Antonio hotel booked a front sea view room we asked if this was right as it appeared to be a side view but was assured it was a front ?? Anyway very kind of management on arrival to room there was a bottle of cava and fresh fruit in the room good sized room we paid for fridge to be unlocked ! Took my own portable kettle really I think they should provide one also fridge in this day and age, we hired safe, we stayed half board for us all inclusive pointless as I wanted to explore and see the area, the food was fantastic so much choice majority of staff very smiley a few weren’t but hey ho The buses were right outside hotel for old town peurto Del carmen, Costa teguise, arrecife and other places we got the bus to teguise market on the Sunday that was very nice a lot of craft stalls. We did a trip to fuerteventura which has fantastic beaches and an island tour which included caves, cactus gardens but the main place on that tour for me was ( Caesar Manrique apologies if spelling incorrect !)Foundation where we saw his house built in lava rocks what vision that artist had fantastic place a must if you go to lanzarote Pool area fabulous one heated which was lovely plenty of sun beds but you still got the few who ran down early to put towels on the same sun beds everyday ! There’s only WiFi in reception area and internet room down some steps connection poor at times again in this day and age it should be available in all areas not just one, one day I was on my iPad on FaceTime talking to my two year old twin granddaughters by the open doors showing them the sea view another lady was talking to her on a table and the rugby match was on in that room when the next thing I was told to shush I looked over to see a man sorry I cannot put gentleman with his wife and a rep he proceeded then to say shut up I told him not to be so rude he told me again I was fuming there was a library for them to talk in I finished my conversation with the girls and went to reception I explained what had happened and said whilst I appreciated she could not do anything I said I was 62 yrs of age and did not expect to be spoken to like that whilst on holiday in an internet area she apologised but said she could not speak to him as she needed a male to do that and there wasn’t one available when I told him not to be so rude to me it was then evident he was German by his reply so to me, this spoilt my experience i did not want my husband to say anything to him although he did say do not speak to my wife like that the reply was in German we saw them most mornings after that and he just glared what a horrible nasty man he was he made out he couldn’t understand me yet he could say shut up and his wife very rudely one morning was saying very angrily to one of the waiters no coffee no coffee because the machine needed filling up so they understood that very ignorant people I won’t personally return but would recommend the hotel it has everything there for the more elderly the entertainment appeared good we did not go as liked to stroll up to the bars just up the road but location is fab and reception staff very friendly Collapse

Experience started badly in that we had booked and paid extra for a sea view. When allocated the room we discovered that it was a side sea view. Looked around the hotel and found that the vast majority of rooms had a similar view apart from one small section that was sea facing. My advice is don’t be tricked into paying extra, you are likely to be given a room sea facing. Reception were unhelpful in resolving this and we eventually moved the next day but to a room that had the same sort of view; might as well have stopped where we were. So from a negative start we settled into the hotel. I agree with many of the comments on here. It is dated and needs upgrading. Carpets threadbare in part and furniture would not meet basic standard. Food was varied and mixed. Nothing was poor but not brilliant either. Simple things like the crockery was past it’s best and many plates rejected for not being clean enough. Well that is my gripe about the place. To be fair I have to balance it. There were some very good points. Restaurant staff could not have been more efficient, the entertainment was mainly fun and worth watching. We enjoyed a bit of a dance around. There is the opportunity for a bit of ballroom dancing but pretty limited. Drinks were on right side of acceptable but really stupid system of signing for everything. This takes so much time and probably adds little to management information. It does slow down the serving but staff were very competent at coping with an antiquated system. I wouldn’t want to put anybody off coming here. It’s location is pretty good with ease of access to bus routes. It’s just that to take it to the next level some investment is required to give it a refurbishment and to change inefficient practices. Would I come again? Maybe. Collapse

The VIK San Antonio has once again lived up to all expectations & surpassed some. We’ve had a thoroughly enjoyable break , met up with acquaintances from previous visits , met interesting people , had exceptionally good weather & found the San Antonio as welcoming as ever.Apart from the minor disappointment that a “ full sea view” requested & paid extra for ,was semi- obscured by a large tree there was little one could find fault with. The Hotel is old but spotless in every area. Rooms are comfortable & well -appointed & the benefit of English TV Channels is a bonus.Staff members are friendly , efficient & very professional in their dealings with guests. We chose the All-Inclusive package & were delighted with the quality & variety of food served in the Restaurant. Some meals were quite exceptional in quality, varied breads, cheeses & tempting desserts all made meals exciting. The Restaurant Staff were helpful & welcoming & provided excellent non-intrusive service . Even though food is Buffet Service ,the experience was relaxing, unhurried & absolutely enjoyable. There is a quiet ambience throughout the Hotel, a Library of reading material , organized games & activities ( French Boules a real favourite ) Easygoing Pool activities for those who wished , Pool, Table Tennis all available daily. Sunbeds by the hundred ready every day. The Pool Bar & Cafeteria also serves delicious food. We couldn’t leave this time without making a return booking ! Granted, there are elderly guests in large numbers but also a spectrum of younger guests & some children. There is Evening Entertainment every evening in the Cocktail Bar. The resident musicians provide easy listening dance music/song in the early evening . This is lovely to enjoy & guests dance to their hearts’content. This is followed by an hour long “ Showtime “...some Acts are better than others , Monday night’s Family Group was outstanding in their varied performance of Illusion & Magic. Drinks are served throughout the evening , excellent choices from good Coffee to Brandy ! The situation of the San Antonio is just perfect... on the beach, away from, but within strolling distance, of all Puerto del Carmen has to offer. The Bus (€1.40) stops opposite the Hotel & serves the Old Town & further afield if wished.Taxis abound also. Reluctantly we checked out & said “Adios” yesterday.Ten days of magnificent weather, every comfort & total relaxation has us utterly refreshed & ready to look forward to the next visit. Well done, San Antonio... you tick all the boxes ! Muchas Gratias ! Collapse

Me and my husband went to this hotel in Feb. Neither of us had been to lanzerote before. Firstly the hotel negatives...the hotel needs updated as quite old fashioned, we had a crack in the sliding wardrobe mirror which we reported no one bothered to have a look and that's it. The positives the hotel is ideally situated you just turn left on leaving the hotel walk about 3 mins. and your at all the bars etc. We were half board and the food was really good, plenty of choice, never had to eat out at all, always plenty of tables, the entertainment was also really really good much better than I expected, plenty of seats and quick bar service. Always managed to get a lounger at pool. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel. The main strip has loads of different kinds of bars and restaurants all are clean and reasonably priced. Collapse

We stayed at the VIK San Antonio hotel in September 2017 - half board. The hotel was lovely, food was great and there was always plenty to eat. The staff were friendly, rooms were clean, pool area was great. The grounds of the hotel were beautiful and so close to the beach. Easy walk into town in both directions with lots of nightlife and local shops nearby. The only problems I can mention are the charge to use the fridge in the room which was a bit odd. The cocktail bar had great entertainment but is quite expensive so all-inclusive would suit most if planning to stay at the resort most evenings. We would definitely stay here again. Collapse
