I arrived very late but was greeting with a warm welcome and the offer of a food platter to have in my room, which I accepted. The check in was quick and easy; the wifi connection easy; For me, the bonus is the lift to help with taking my luggage to the 1st floor room; My room was warm and spacious with a lovely bathroom. The bed is very comfortable. The meal was delicious as was the glass of red wine. The staff are all so friendly and caring - nothing is too much trouble. The location is excellent and the grounds are great for exercising my dog. The selection at breakfast is superb, and the coffee is delicious. The only concern I had is the lack of good exterior lighting at the whole of the front of the hotel as I arrived in the dark and it was hard to see my way to and from my car to the hotel and I was frightened of tripping over. We stayed at the "Hôtel du Golf" for 3 nights of the Easter weekend. The hôtel is a swing away from the tee 1 of the Golf de Saint Omer, one of the most challenging golf courses in France. It is also close to the city of Saint Omer - beautiful cathedral -, a 15' drive to the Coupole - a giant bunker built by the German army to serve as launching platform of V2 missiles, which has been transformed into a fascinating exhibition, coupled with a 3D 360 degrees movie theater -, and of a 45' drive to the cliffs and beaches of the Pas de Calais coastline. The hotel rooms are quite comfortable, well laid-out and hotel services are impeccable. The staff is genuinely geared to the enjoyment of your stay. Prices are quite affordable. Definitely a place to recommend! Collapse

This is a part of the Najeti chain. The company would do well to reconsider the hotel's approach to guests. Hotel du Golf has existed for about a decade. Its facilities are modern and the setting is beautiful. However when we arrived and were assigned to our room, after a few minutes all the power went off - no TV, no electricity, and no prospect of fixing things. When we asked for another room (we had to insist) we were shown one with an inferior aspect. After much heavy pressing on our part they managed to "discover" another room, which was satisfactory, with electricity working. Breakfast the following morning was a buffet affair, costing 16 Euros per person, which seems high for what was provided. At least it offered the advertised warm food. Next morning however things fell apart. No warm food on the buffet. When we raised the issue, they offered to prepare something. We asked for oeufs au plat, which anywhere else would be bacon and eggs. What arrived was a mess of very wet scrambled egg accompanied by two tired pieces of under-cooked ham. So, to keep it simple, we asked instead for 5-minute boiled eggs (oeufs bouillis - cinq minutes). After a long wait the eggs arrived, and turned out to be virtually raw and quite inedible. We left the breakfast room, and decided that a hotel that couldn't boil an egg didn't merit our patronage. So we checked out. Our lasting impression is that the hotel is more interested in the golf course that it offers than in looking after the general interests of its guests. By comparison with other hotels in the area, service was cold and unenterprising. The one exception was the clubhouse where simple midday meals are served. Staff there were efficient and pleasant. We noticed that for long periods there was no-one at the hotel's main reception desk. When people were at the desk, there was no name recognition of guests - and no apparent attempt to do so. Altogether a disheartening sojourn. Collapse

The rooms themselves are quite nice but after finding a staple (Yes you read it right a staple) in one of our meals during our stay I have to give them a poor review, not actually for the staple itself but for the unsympathetic approach of the managerial staff that wasn't even available until the last day of our stay. Breakfast was below par (excuse the pun) and had few staff available those that were seemed rushed off their feet. Do not plan on staying again Collapse

We stopped over here on our way back to Calais with our 2 dogs. Lots of places say they're dog friendly when they actually mean they accept dogs. This hotel is dog 'friendly', we and our dogs were welcomed by all the staff. Dog bowls were provided in the room, although they must have been expecting a couple of lap dogs as they were so tiny our boxers couldn't get their noses in but the thought was there. The forest on the doorstep is great for a paw stretch. The room was a good size, well equipped, clean and the bed was really comfortable. We had a good meal in the restaurant, its not cheap but not overpriced either. Collapse
