First, the pluses (not many): - bright colors make for fun photos (and many just stop by for photo shoot and then leave) - micheladas were great, made the way they should be with Tajin salt on the rim - neat retro displays - Barbie case, fire pits, ping pong table, etc. - good happy hour at tequila bar, El Jefe. Pork tacos are amazing - internet is good - like that Starbucks and Ralph’s grocery are across the street. The downsides: - pool waitstaff are more interested in chatting with each other in back the pool bar, on their phones, or talking with the girls that sold hats next to the bar. This was a Friday (although it was every other day before that too). We would have definitely bought more drinks and the folks around us. Having to walk up to the bar for drinks and interrupt them each time was ridiculous. - they were out of banana frozen drinks and rum for 1/2 the day and when we finally got one (for $14), it was horrific - was pretty ridiculous that all week (arrived Tuesday) you don’t have to rent a bed and then Friday it was $50 and not one bed was rented the whole day. Noone rented them. If you are going to charge for a bed, 1) I expect wait service (which we weren’t getting) and 2) I would expect music or some entertainment. I though this place was known for a pool party? I guess you have to be there Saturday? - many pool loungers are broke or had gaping hole in lower back area. - fire pits were never used all week, including Friday. So much for cuteness. - there’s a restaurant somewhat facing the outdoor area, but isn’t used at night. What a waste of a good space. Upstairs above it is also used for banquets apparently. Again, not used and such a waste of what could be a great area for drinks or entertaining. - poolside is not really poolside. There are bushes surrounding your patio and a fence beyond that. You are not getting a view. It’s proximity to pool I guess. - patio furniture is extremely uncomfortable, faded and looks like it belongs in a kids playroom - maid service doesn’t come till real late in the day. Two of the four days we simply had to ask for additional towels because we couldn’t wait to have our room cleaned and needed to shower for the evening. - not a lot of wall sockets for plugging in phones in room itself - room smelled humid and musty. Air conditioning really doesn’t work well. - beds are crinkly when you move - checkout was not real helpful. I guess they assume everyone is ‘express’. - if you are looking for anything happening here at night (or Tuesday -Friday during the day), this is NOT the place for you OR plan to Uber somewhere else! For the price we paid for this hotel; so not worth it. We frequent Palm Springs very often and this has to be the most disappointing. As many have started, this is not 4 stars or needs to do some serious changes to make it that way. Collapse

I booked 1 night through Priceline for a 4-5 star hotel. Priceline booked The Saguaro Palm Springs. Once it books, I immediately read the reviews and realized that this hotel is not a 4-star hotel. I tried to cancel, but Priceline Customer Support refused to cancel within 30 minutes of my booking. They claimed that their reviews are accurate. Now, I travel quite a bit and stay at 4 and 5 star hotels. This hotel is 2-3 Stars. This hotel is NOT a 4-Star Hotel, unless you have some seriously compromised standards. I don't have issues with 2 or 3 star hotels, but if you're booking a 4 Star hotel, then you should receive a 4-star hotel. Priceline is absolutely disappointing. That's what you get when you outsource your customer support and you get robots on the phone who don't know the value of providing excellent service. As for the room, it smelled, carpets were dirty, the tiles in the bathroom had grout missing and cracked. The AC unit didn't not shut off by itself so I had to turn it on & off manually throughout the nice so we don't suffocate in the room. This is a party hotel and nothing more. Collapse

This place was a pretty decent hotel that certainly caters to the younger crowd as is evidenced by the bright colors and the pool scene. The hotel room was a little dated and the purple carpet didn’t help to hide the fact that it’s been around for quite a while. The outdoor area around the pool has cornhole and other games plus some lounging areas which was a big plus. The cleaning crew was always very late to get to the room which we found odd considering we stayed M-F in mid-February. The price was decent compared to similar hotels so all in all not a bad choice.
