Lovely hotel, great location, if slightly impersonal staff at times

Difficult to know what you are going to get when you book online from a different country. However the Saga turned out to be in an excellant location for us, away from the busy tourist areas, in a leafy suburb within easy walking distance of the main city. This was great at the end of the day to come back to and the room as well as the hotel is superby decorated. I have taught art and design and a friend is an interior decorator, well she would have loved this place, as I did! Also loved the coffee machine in the room, as also the one in the foyer. We did not eat in the restaurant as not our type of food, but the buffet breakfast could not have been better. As someone diagnosed lactose intolerant at the hospital, I loved that they had Alpro soya milk and yoghurts as well as lovely rolls and everything else you could wish for. The only thing that spoilt it slightly for us was that the reception staff were a bit cool and did not welcome you in, ask how you day was, or even say goodbye at the end of 7 days stay with them. The male staff were noticeably better at being friendly than the females for some reason. Unlike the hotel in Amsterdam, which we had recently been to, they always were quite chatty and interested in what we had done that day, the feeling here was a bit anonymous, like you haven't really been to a country if you don't get to talk to people. But maybe that is the Norwegian way? We have relatives in Finland and did not find it so there, so not sure why. Enjoyed our stay nonetheless though and would recommend the hotel to others, despite that fact. Collapse

Liar! We booked this apartment by hotels.com and reserved with accessible bathroom option. Of course the email confirmation was sent with the requested information. On 2017/07/24 around 6:30PM we checked in and I emphasized again that it must be accessible bathroom. But I was told there was no such room and we were assigned to the room which is the most walking distance from the elevator. This morning when we left another room 2004 door was open and a housekeeper asked why we did not us this room. I went in and looked around, it is an accessible bathroom!!! Then around 10:30 I took my partner to the checkin place and argued why yesterday we were told no such kind of room! Then immediately they changed our room to 2001. I asked it should be 2004, then they said they have two accessible bathroom. TWO ACCESSIBLE BATHROOM! THE ROOM 2001 WAS READY IMMEDIATELY AT 10:30 FOR US TO USE EVEN NO CLEANING REQUIRED, WHICH MEANS THIS ROOM WAS AVAILABLE SINCE LAST NIGHT. YOU, LIAR, SAID THERE WAS NO SUCH KIND OF ROOM AND THEN SAID THERE WERE TWO AVAILABLE, AFTER THE ARGUMENT. WHAT A LIAR!!! Collapse

Oslo was great! Very easy to get around. Loved the trams that came regularly that you could just hop on or off. The hotel location was OK. We were given a room in the Saga Hotel Apts. We checked in at the hotel (which was slightly difficult to find - not on a Main Street) and then we're told our room was at the apartments 200m away. Being American, we don't know meters...it ended up being 4 blocks away. When you're dragging a 50 pound suitcase up hill and 4 blocks away, that can be problematic. The room itself was ok. Very small for an apartment. Tiny kitchen(we didn't need one), small bathroom (but manageable), much smaller than hotel rooms that we are used to. Nice area - quiet neighborhood setting. Very walkable city. Great public transportation. Highly recommend getting an OSLO PASS. Order before you go and pick up at train station. You can get into all museums, ride the public transportation. Ride the ferries. All free with OSLO PASS. Collapse
Small and cosy in quite neighbourhood

Great family place. We liked the apartments in a separate building. Charming place with good service. Free parking was a plus. The breakfast was super. We had a family apartment which was a bit small, but completely adequate for three persons.

It was a pleasant stay at the Saga Apartment Oslo. We love the chic and modern interior design in the room and the lobby. You will have everything you need in the apartment, balcony, tv, sofa, kitchen with utensils, microwave, fridge etc. There is also free use of washing machine and dryer at the ground floor, it would be better if there is English instructions. The same goes to the dishwasher in the room, we are clueless as to how to use it. The bed in the room is very comfortable but the sofa bed is not so comfortable to sleep on. There is also a 200 meters uphill walk from Saga Hotel reception to the apartment. As we took taxi to the check in counter and later to the apartment, this is not a problem to us. Overall, the apartment is valued for money for such a high standard of quanlity. The apartment is well located in a quiet and safe neighborhood. However, within 5 mins walk, you will be on a main shopping street with tram stations, supermarkets, restaurants and cafes, high street shops. You can also walk to Vigeland Sculpture Park or royal palace from the apartment. (About 15 mins). Collapse
