The hotel is well located - and it looks really nice. Contemporary and chic. Immediate area seems primarily residential - but short walk will take you to shops/restaurants, etc. Staff is super nice - albeit the "bar" is not really manned so ended up sitting for 30 min. without even being approached (didn't mind - did not really need anything - but still...). However there are some things that really doesn't work well (for me - being a very experienced traveller): - when showering I discovered that the container for soap was 100% empty. This may NEVER happen in a professional hotel. This means that the container was not checked for weeks - and what else was not done properly for weeks??? - hot water fluctuated in heat - from almost cold to almost scolding. That's not nice! - wifi - a bit dodgy (albeit free - which is good!). Measured a max of 3-4Mbit/s - which is not OK by todays standards. - breakfast room is in the basement. It's really nicely decorated - but not ideal for a breakfast room (for me... I would prefer open light rooms for breakfast). I realize that basement was only option given the layout of the hotel - but still.... So all in all - I enjoyed my stay - but there were some serious faults that need to be corrected if I am to return. Collapse

Friendly staff, great breakfast, comfortable rooms and lovely shower! The hotel had everything we needed for a pleasant stay in Oslo. Although it is a little way from the main city the hotel is well connected with public transport, which is free with the Oslo Pass (would highly recommend for tourists). We will stay here again on our next visit to Oslo. Collapse

Firstly, let me say that I am a well seasoned traveller and this hotel is great. The location is brilliant and the prices very reasonable for Oslo. It is a short walk to the centre of Oslo, through the palace park. It is also the right side of Oslo for the Sculpture Park and for getting the transport to the Viking Ship Museum. We stayed in December 2016 in an apartment with our 2.5 year old son. It was a functional and good apartment and my only complaint would be that the shower cubicle leaked dreadfully. However, the space saving design of the bathroom was genius. We had to use the spare towels to mop the floor as it was awash with water but as we were only there two nights, it wasn't an issue. However, I am not sure when these apartments are serviced as we didn't have ours serviced when we were there (not that I minded as I don't clean my own house once every two days but it might be something you'd like to find out if you're staying there for longer :-) ). There is a supermarket around the corner from the apartments and a main shopping street about 5 minutes walk away so it really is in a good location. We booked directly with the hotel as we got a special offer which included breakfast and it was a very good breakfast, highly recommend. However, despite all the positives, I have to say that the reception staff really let this place down for us. I had read reviews saying a similar thing but thought maybe they were just having an off day, but they really don't greet you with a warm welcome. We arrived with luggage, a pushchair and a young child. There are steps up to the hotel reception as you need to check in here for both the hotel and the apartments. Nobody came out to offer us a hand which is fine, my husband and I never go anywhere expecting others to help us and if people do, which is often, we are very appreciative. However, when we eventually made it through the door, we didn't get a smile or a warm hello. We asked about our apartment and it wasn't ready which is fair enough but I had to ask if I could store the luggage and I was told, yes. I then had to ask where? Once I had been given the key to the luggage room and that was completed, I went back to reception and probably looking a bit lost, asked if they had a map of Oslo. The receptionist gave me one but I had to ask where things were as it was my first time in Oslo. I think she was waiting for me to ask where things were which was a bit daft seeing as I didn't have a clue what there was to see to begin with. Things didn't improve much when we eventually came back to check in. We had to tell the receptionist that yes, our rate included breakfast and other things which just made us feel awkward. It seemed like we a bit of an annoyance to them. To be honest I was glad that we didn't need reception for anything other than checking in and out. I would stay here again if I am ever back in Oslo but I am hoping that reception can work on their interpersonal skills a bit more. I am not expecting people to adore my son or chat to me forever and a day, just a quick, warm hello would do! That being said, you don't go to these places to hang around the hotel so like I have said, it's a great place to stay and if you do, you won't be disappointed. Collapse
