We stayed at this hotel for five nights. The location is good with it being out of town a bit, we walked into Nerja and up to Frigiliana ( a steep climb uphill but there is a short cut too) the local bus stops out side the hotel and we used that also so you don't really need a car unless you are really going to explore a lot further. Our room was ready on time, it was spotless and the water was hot and plenty of it with good water pressure too! The beds in fact were comfortable and the linen spotless, the rooms were cleaned every day. Although you overlook the road it really isn't that bad, and if you close the door you can't here it at all. Obviously it's a busy road during the day but not a problem for us, it didn't disturb us that much. We didn't use the pool but it looked nice ...they were just filling it while we were there but it's still out of season really. Breakfast for me was ok, I like cold meats etc and pastries were good too. If you like cooked English type of stuff this may not suit. The evening meals were excellent and very good selection. The rabbit and the pigs elbow were just to die for...really good...authentic food. The wine was also good and reasonably priced we thought. The staff were lovely and they spoke English ..much better than our Spanish !! I would definitely use the public transport, and would say do eat in the restaurant, you won't be disappointed. The wifi was ok in the public area but not in our bedroom and there wasn't English TV (not a problem for me but my husband likes the news)! This isn't a flash, impersonal hotel, but it has a charm and the food is good, the staff a friendly and everything is clean. My husband travels all over the world staying in large impersonal hotels so we try to find hotels with character when we go away for a break. We found it relaxing and just what we wanted. Would stay again for sure. Collapse

This hotel is well placed if you want a base near Nerja, but you do not want to be in the thick of things: it is just North of the motorway exit roundabout at Km292. The driveway is steep and twisty, but worth it as the hotel is comfortable, quiet and well run. Rooms have sunset view and are quiet despite the nearby roads. Somewhat let down by the catering though - no evening restaurant opening on weekdays in winter, and unexciting breakfast with stale croissants and no hot option. Collapse

We stayed at this hotel for a Friday and Saturday night weekend break with friends. Location is very very close to the main coast road, but no noise and makes it very convenient for either Nerja or Frigliana. It is rustic in style but recently renovated and immaculately maintained. Our room faced the road with a small balcony with table and chairs. We were lucky enough to get a king size double bed which was super comfy and cosy. As our room had an adjoining door to our friends next door, you could hear everything - not a problem for us, but could be a bit tricky if you were staying longer. The absolute highlight of this hotel is the restaurant - we dined here both nights having been out and about all day. They have a menu for 12,90eur with lots of choices including deep fried aubergine, amazing Gambas Pil Pil, avocado and anchovy salad, oxtail, and cod loin. Their most expensive wine was less than 20eur a bottle. Both nights our bill was less than 90eur for 4 of us and one night we had 2 bottles of wine!! This is a perfect hotel to stop overnight if you're travelling further or for a weekend break. Collapse

This is a lovely rustic hotel to stay in. The room was simple and clean with a very comfortable bed. Had a full bath with shower over, which was of a good pressure. Also bidet, hairdryer and electric point in bathroom. Couple of chairs and table on outside balcony, which was of a good size to sit out on. It doesn't matter where you stay, as all rooms have the same view of sea, swimming pool and mountains. Hotel car park and reception accessed via a steep drive, but if walking you can access via a few steps and slope to the lower ground floor. Top floor reception, lounge, bar, dining area with views the same as room. You can sit and eat/drink outside. The rooms were cleaned every day and were spotless. The breakfast was continental and self service - this varied slightly every day. The swimming pool is of a good size with a few sunbeds scattered around. The hotel is situated half way between Nerja and Frigiliana just off main road and the bus stop is right outside - only 1 euro anywhere between Nerja to Frigiliana and comes approx every hour between 7 am and 9 pm, otherwise you can use a taxi. We walked downhill to Nerja a couple of times but there is no footpath outside hotel until after you cross two roundabouts. We went out every day but on the last evening stayed in whilst waiting for our taxi transfer. I am so glad we tried this restaurant, the food was of a very top quality and extremely good value for money - much cheaper than eating out in restaurants. Free wifi in hotel too. Collapse

At first we were disappointed because we booked a double bed, but we got a twin. It was probably mixed up by our agent and the hotel was fully booked. However the lady at the reception didn't forget and the next day called us to say a double bed was available. The rooms are cleaned thoroughly every day, the breakfast was really nice and the staff was always helpful, polite and hospitable! Felt like home :) (if you are reading, thanks for the super early breakfast, and the mangos) Collapse
