Good Hotel, Outstanding staff you could save a few bucks and be further away, but the service is well worth it!

I can't say enough about the staff. Every last one of them we met was friendly and professional, all the way down to the doormen or the room cleaner we passed in the hall. It started with Michelle at reception. I asked if the rooms had safes. She said they did, but also pointed out the hotel safe deposit boxes had cameras on them. Much appreciated as I'd accidental worn a family heirloom watch on our weekend trip and did not want to wear it out around the harbor or really even leave it in the room safe. I think Michelle overheard me quietly telling my wife that another guest had opened their door into our SUV and put a small dent in it, so she had the hotel pick up our parking costs. Our SUV is a 2008 RAV4 that is well worn with multiple bike handle streaks down the side from our kids. It was really no big deal and almost unnoticeable, but the jeastor meant a lot to me even though it wasn't the hotels fault and I didn't even complain about it. If you are bringing a nice car, you may just want to be mindful of how crowded the drop off area is as it is small. You could pull over on the street just outside to unload. The Concierge Jonathan was personable, charming, and extremely helpful with his suggestions. He spent a good deal of time with us and really helped us not only make some plans, but confirm that our exsisting dinner reservation at the oyster bar was a good choice. I am not that picky about a hotel room as long as it's clean and not dated, however my wife is very. She liked the room and bathroom. I've stayed at the Marriott waterfront for business and much preferred the Sonesta. You are just across the street from all the greatness of the Inner Harbor where the tour boats launch from. About a block or 2 from where the street performers are, and walkable to everything. Although it was about 1/2 mile to Fells point. The walk felt safe. You could stay at the Sheraton and be a block further away and save a few bucks, but unless you're tight on money, there is a reason this is the top rated hotel on TripAdvisor. Collapse

We just spent three nights and it was wonderful. The hotel was in a great location and everything we wanted to do was within walking distance. The staff was one of the friendliest and most helpful I have ever encountered (especially the valets). The concierge was not overly friendly or helpful the the rest of the staff more than made up for it. We loved the courtyard and pool on the seventh floor. We have a sixteen month old who is definitely an "outdoor kid" and it was great being able to spend some time in the grass and fresh air without even leaving the hotel. We also requested a crib when we made our reservation and it was waiting in our room with sheets, a baby blanket, and even little travel sized baby shampoo, body wash, lotion, and diaper cream, which was a nice touch! My husband and I also got massages from Caterina and they were beyond amazing. She is one of the sweetest and most knowledgeable massage therapists I have ever had the pleasure of working with. All and all it was a great experience and we would definitely stay there again. Collapse

This is a first class hotel. Everything was great. The only thing I didn't see was slippers :-) Bed was comfortable. Amenities were complete. Parking costs, but is reasonable and they give you an extra six hours on the day you leave. Most importantly this is one of the cleanest hotels I ever stayed in. The room was impeccable. There are four places I notice and virtually every hotel fails the last one.. 1. Bed/Sheet cleanliness 2.Drawers for any remaining dust, scraps etc. 3. Edges of carpet near wall / corners. Most fail here. 4. The top of the lamps. My room was totally clean and the bathroom as well. The staff was also wonderful, kind and helpful. Every single one! Kudos to Sonesta of Baltimore! Collapse

Rolled in from a 5 day visit to Washington. Stayed here due to proximity to Camden Yards, and going to a ball game later that night. Greeted by staff in monsoon-type rain storm with umbrella. Nice touch. Check in was great, but no parking onsite (saved for valet parking). Shared parking lot around the corner from hotel - $26 a day. Pool was nice, little amenities like a fruit filled (cucumber at night, orange in the morning) water cooler in the lobby, etc. classed it up. Beautiful rooms, big comfy beds and pillows, elegant bathrooms. 4 star hotel for sure. View online not like the view in room however (at least in our case). View online was the Baltimore Inner Harbor. View in room was 6 stories of 4-wall courtyard. That's what you get when you book online through a secondary site. Price paid though was less than half of standard hotel rate though, so it was what it was. Biggest drawback - arrived at 4 pm and there was a room service tray in the hall from another guest. Went to the pool and came back - still there. Went to the ballgame and came back - still there. Went to sleep and woke up the next morning and went to the pool - still there. Apparently, room service trays are only picked up once a day from the hallways and stay on the carpet until the next morning. Housekeeping may be an issue. Close to ball stadium and Inner Harbor for anyone needing to stay downtown. Cafe on site. Collapse
