We are a couple who stayed here for a week in a one bedroom villa at the beginning of November. The hotel is beautiful. It is full of tropical trees and plants and lovely statues and artefacts. It is not a lay around a large swimming pool type of hotel, it is much more sophisticated. Alhough a lot of people seemed to be staying, it always seemed quiet. We used the Spa every day and there was never more than one other couple using it. Our villa was lovely, huge bed, sitting room, two TVs and a well equipped kitchen, including washing machine, outdoor plunge pool and big double sunbed, faboulous decor. The staff are great. Tom is very helpful and friendly and the restaurant staff are superb. The road outside our villa was noisy, there are a lot of building works round and about, but it didn't bother us and we never heard it at night. The only reasons we haven't given it 5 stars is that our pool and sunbed were in the shade all the time and so we felt we couldn't sit out there as much as we thought we would be able to. Collapse

Stop reading reviews and book it before it is gone!!! Fabulous Stayed in half term with my 14 year old daughter in Villa Aloe for 5 nights. We wanted a few days of relaxation and sun and got that and so much more. Beautiful 2 bedroom villa over two floors, with a panoramic view over mountains and sea. Had everything we needed and really lovely decor with eclectic mix of styles. Large terrace on ground floor with same great views got the sun all day. Lots of different loungers and balinese beds to choose from. Small pool about 16m2 but could swim half a dozen strokes and nice to cool down in. Would choose villa with larger pool next time though. Upstairs also had small balcony with sunbeds and 'solarium; Service was great. Friendly and attentive without being uncomfortable - a perfect mix. Food was delicious. Standard breakfast choices but all beautifully cooked. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent. We chose to have room service a couple of nights which was also very good. We also ate in the restaurant -monkey- owned by the hotel in the nearby town. This was a nice change. The spa was small but never busy and the lady doing treatments was excellent. The place was spotless, nothing was too much trouble, everywhere was beautiful and the sun shone. Whats not to like. We did nothing and my 14 year old declared it her 'best holiday ever'. Fiona the manager- very friendly. Frederic-waiter excellent in fact all the staff. The noise from road did not bother me at all but that might have been the villa position The noise one morning from the golf course was a bit irritating as it went on a long time - tending to the greens. But the green of the course instead of the rubble of the rest of the island makes up for that. If not for the course there would probably be buildings spoiling the view. We got taxi's a couple of times and they were very reasonable. i never go to the same place twice but this place has changed that rule-- i will be booking again ! Collapse
Nice hotel - but the noisy road next door ruined it for us

The hotel is beautiful, and the rooms spacious - we really looked forward to spending some time here. Unfortunately - the hotel is squeezed in between two roads with traffic that we were unable to ignore. Especially sitting outside by the pool in our two-bedroom villa was not very relaxing. The three-bedroom villas are better placed for noise - but we perceived that the hotel tried to use this as an up-sell opportunity rather than giving us a fair experience. Also note that the hotel is a bit "off" and that you need a car or a bit of taxi time if you want to see more than the hotel. Collapse
Elegant luxury...putting the traffic noise into perspective.

We had 6 nights as a family of 4 in the 2 bedroom villa Joanna ( Gran Majestic). The quality of the accommodation matches the best game lodges we have enjoyed in South Africa and is unusually generous for Europe. The villa is split over 2 floors with a fabulous master bedroom on the upper floor , with its own balcony and out side bath plus bathroom with bath, separate shower and toilet ... oh and a separate dressing room! Downstairs is palatial with a kitchen and lounge area and another double bedroom we had set up as twin beds ,with its own shower and toilet . The main terrace is here with pool, Bali bed, covered seating and dining areas and sun loungers. Sun all day and plenty of shade when needed. As others have said a key attribute of the hotel is the friendly and efficient service. Nothing was too much trouble for Jossbell on reception and the restaurant staff were attentive with Bilyana being outstanding. Tom was a regular cheery face around the pool although we only used it once as our own was so good . Fiona the hotel manager made a point of greeting guests at breakfast on 2 occasions we were aware of and we had the feeling that if we had had any issues they would have been dealt with immediately ( as indeed a dead light bulb was). We arranged car hire through the hotel with Oasis and that was a faultless service . Secure garage parking is available on site. Our only slight negatives were 1) the outside BBQ on Monday night which did not live up to the food standard of the Jardin restaurant ,but we had good meals in the restaurant on 2 other nights. 2) The occasional traffic noise from the roads in front and behind the hotel. However to get that into perspective the only noticeable vehicles were the odd motorbike or large construction vehicle(there is much building going on in the locality but not next to the hotel). The noise would certainly not put us off going again but if you want total tranquility you would not be happy here. Although there are no restaurants within easy walking distance the location is very good for restaurants and other activities.with several excellent places to eat in La Caleta 5 minutes drive away ,Porto colon water sports 15 minures away, Siam Park 15 minutes and Mount Teide an hour. Overall a fantastic place to spend a few days and it seems to work for couples, young families or families with teenagers as we are. Thank you Fiona and team for a lovely break. Collapse
