We decided to stay in Royal Garden Hotel as we are attending a function that is held in there and boy are we glad we made this choice. The price is good and the location is central. Its very close to the harbour front, with lots of shops and eatery around. Its is not really close to the MTR, maybe around 5 mins walk but it is in a very nice part of town. The room was comfortable and well appointed, with a big bathroom which was unexpected in HK. The staff were all very attentive. I would stay here again next time I visit HK. Highly recommended. Excellent hotel in a very convenient location in Kowloon side , close to the sea and to all the urban transport connections. Very professional staff . You understand immediately their kindness and professionalism , as soon as you go in the hotel and meet the front desk and the concierge. A special mention is due to the kindness of the Coffee Shop “The Greeenery” that “makes you feel at home”. The buffet there is great for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Amazing lobby with panoramic lifts which take to the balcony where the comfortable and clean rooms are placed. The hotel has security agents, very professional and careful , who take the hotel under control 24 hours a day , The fitness club, with the well equipped gym and the unbeliavable panoramic pool is noteworthy ! I definitely reccommend this hotel to everybody who wants to spend delicious days in Hong Kong. Carlo Ginocchio Collapse

I booked this hotel via Expedia at a great rate. I initially had concerns about the quality of this hotel due to the low rate. My concerns were completely wrong. This place is an excellent hotel. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels around the world and this is in my top five. It has a great combination of style, affordability, services, location and great staff. It doesn’t appear to have rewards programs and is probably an independent hotel from a major chain. From check in to checkout I thoroughly loved this hotel. The check in staff gave me a great room which is always a good start to a holiday. Andy Lau was the staff member who took care of us and he was always friendly throughout the week and treated us as if we were the only people he had met all week. Great attention to detail. The rooms are on the small side but very clean and well appointed. The roof top pool is lovely. There is also a resort spa/wellness centre which may be complimentary depending on the floor level you’re on. Each room has an extremely handy device to help you navigate your way around the site of Hong Kong. It’s like a smart phone and has roaming data and is completely free. It was our saviour a few times as we got a little lost. It shows you all the best sites to see, best restaurants, bars, markets, tourist sites, google maps, how to get there and a location tracker. It was the best thing I’ve seen in a hotel for a long time. Make use of it. It’s called ‘Handy’. You can even make selected calls on it to listed places on the device. As a GPS tracker I loved it as my partner tends to get lost in the markets easily. The hotel location is about a 3 minute walk from East Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station. Or the main line into Hong Kong Island is at Tsim Sha Tsui station which is about a 15 minute walk. Or use the walkways underground from East TST to TST station. Much quicker and cooler. The area has good shopping and we always felt safe at night. Very close to the water and great views of Hong Kong Island. Request a room on the end of the building to see straight across to Hong Kong Island. We had room 1606 looking straight down Salisbury Road. The short walk to the water’s edge means you can easily view the Symphony of lights each night, only 2 minutes’ walk from the hotel. The hotel has many very high quality restaurants worth dining at. There are plenty of nearby options if you don’t want to spend that much money though. They aren’t that cheap but the quality is excellent. My only criticism of the hotel was the breakfast buffet. It usually costs HKD275 per person (about $55AUD). This is expensive however we were offered a daily special of HKD154 per person per day for the entire week so this was cheaper. We had to dine there each day at that rate. The food was average and the one chef was so flat out cooking that many of the warm items were not available depending on his workload. The pancake machine only worked 2 days out of the 7 when we ate there. There were only 2 juice options, orange and grapefruit and a limited selection of fresh fruits and healthy options. Otherwise what I ate was satisfactory and didn’t detract from the overall hotel experience. If you don’t like buffet breakfast there are other options nearby including a good Starbucks for a decent coffee. Overall I fully recommend this hotel for location, price, comfort and great staff. The front office manager is doing a great job with his team. I will definitely stay here again and recommend you do too. I am usually a critic of some hotels however this is not one of them. You’ll enjoy it. Say hi to Andy Lau when you check in. Thanks Royal Garden for making my week in HK so enjoyable. Collapse

I've stayed here twice as I booked it through a mystery deal. I got an upgrade the first time, but it was full the second time so I go a lower level room at the back. Both were perfectly fine rooms though, very comfortable, nice bathrooms, good wifi and in room dining. The buffet breakfast was diverse and quite nice. It's an ok location, a short cab ride or medium walk to many of the attractions of Kowloon including markets and shopping. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location itself isn't very interesting, but it's a good base. The dumplings in the Chinese restaurant for lunch were lovely, and as I was there for Easter, the Easter Bunny came to lunch!! Overall, it was a good, safe, friendly experience for a solo traveller. Collapse
