After Many years of coming to Rowhill I feel very disappointed in our last stay. We come here at least 2/3x a year. This was booked for my birthday so it was a celebration. My husband booked a Saturday night. We arrived Saturday lunch time and checked into our room which was nice. We decided to go straight down to the elements bar to have some lunch. We noticed 50% of the tables were occupied but the remaining had reserved signs on them! When we asked the lady working she informed us that these had been reserved for lunch, and she tried telling us to sit by the door which was by reception it was too chilly. We asked if we ordered our food straight away could we sit on a reserved table and be quick, she reluctantly let us but told us to be off the table within 45minutes. As we sat there eating the bar got less and less busy. After rushing our lunch there was plenty of seating! We both paid extra to have treatments 2x 85 minute full body massages 1x Indian head & 1x facial. My full body was lovely. Unfortunately I had the worst facial I’ve ever had, The girl was only 2 days into her job she was so rough and kept talking to me throughout, The light in the room was so bright I asked her to turn it down and she said she couldn’t as would be be able to see the treatments! And then there was heavy banging coming from downstairs! 20minutes into the 55 minute facial I asked her to stop! The receptionist couldn’t offer me any replacement so she refunded the facial. Extremely disappointing. Dinner was ok. Service was great. We was awoken at 1am by rude guests talking and laughing in the hallways! My Husband had to ask them to be quiet as they had just woken us up. On check out we told reception to which we had a reply that there was a function on and he witnessed them waking up the stairs loudly. When I emailed the hotel to tell them of our issues all I got back was a blunt email to say if we return the issues wouldn’t happen again. I can’t believe we didn’t get a phone call to apologise. Customer service at its worst! This 1 night stay cost over £700!!! It was NOT WORTH IT at all, we didn’t even feel like we had a break! Seen as we are extremely good customers of Rowhill grange we will 100% not return back. And we will not be recommending to anyone either. Collapse

Our weekend break here was wonderful. It was very busy but well managed. The treatments and therapists are excellent. The relaxation room is great. The pool area is well laid out and nice if a little dark and the larger pool is not as generous sized as on the photos. The only issue we had was an adjoining door in the room and therefore no soundproofing. Noisy neighbours kept going until daybreak! The advice was to call the night desk but actually they were only talking. The door needs sorting, but I advise in the meantime if you are wanting quiet to check if there is a door. Collapse

Party of 4 ladies, Sunday afternoon cream tea treat. Staff were very attentive throughout, and we were served quickly. Was unimpressed with sandwiches, they were even smaller than finger sized, fillings were extra salty, and the fact that they charged extra if you wanted any more of them was something I hadn't experienced before. Scones we're very hard, and lacking in fruit, but cake selection was good. Also didn't like to be charged for service on such a small guest party. Overall disappointing Collapse

We stayed here as part of the 'celebration package' to celebrate our 3 year anniversary and had what can only be described as the perfect stay. I decided to use the weekend to propose to my girlfriend, the hotel were fantastically supportive throughout. I phoned ahead to make some additions to the room and try and secure an early treatment time to ensure I had enough time to propose before dinner. Upon arriving at the hotel we were informed we had received a complementary upgrade from one of the standard rooms to one of their master suits, this was completely unexpected but made the weekend even more special. We were blown away when we walked into the room, huge space and beautifully finished, we would have been happy spending the entire weekend in there! The hotel also bent over backwards to accommodate a late push back to our dinner reservation (we needed a little longer to compose ourselves and speak to family!). We also loved the utopia SPA, probably the nicest one we have visited. Received the full body massage as our treatment which was very relaxing and professionally done. Overall, we can't thank the hotel and it's staff enough for everything they did. Hopefully this review goes a small way to showing how grateful and overwhelmed we are. Certainly would recommend this hotel to anyone considering staying (even without the complementary upgrade!), the service, food, rooms and the SPA were all 5 stars. We look forward to visiting again in the coming years. Collapse
