I stayed here a good 10 years ago for my mothers 70th, I treated her to this luxurious stay....:) I loved it so much that I decided to book a night away for myself, a well much needed getaway! When I spoke to the hotel on the phone a few times, I didn't get a very warm response, quiet abrupt actually. It did put me off slightly, but I wasn't going to let it ruin my stay. I made my way down earlier, because I wanted to explore a little. I went to a really lovely restaurant 10 mins away from the hotel called Horse & Groom Wilmington and well worth a visit! The food was amazing....yummy When I got to the hotel, I befriended a horse in the local field! Such FUN!! Once entering the hotel, I was welcomed with a nice friendly smile and they checked me in earlier as my room was ready. They took my bag upstairs, and once entered the room it was very clean and spacious. The bed was huge, but it was 2 beds put together so when sleeping I ended up in the middle which was slightly uncomfortable that's my only criticism of the room. So i soon forgot about the telephone call I made, as the service once there was impeccable!!! I never give 10 out of 10 as always room for improvement but a definite 7.5 :) The weather was not that good so did not have a look round the grounds, but it is all lovely and am sure perfect for a wedding :) I used the spa, I went swimming which was really nice and relaxing and I then went up to my room to get ready for dinner as it was part of the package I booked. The dinner was so delicious, it looked small on the plate but it definitely filled me up and I had 2 glasses of fruity wine!!! So to sum it up, I had a lovely time chilling out and not doing an awful lot and would go back without Q!!!! Collapse

I booked my first ever spa day for me and my partner on Valentine's Day, the good part, most treatments and staff of the treatments, great. The bad part, do not complain as you will be told it's your fault. You would expect when booking a Valentine's spa day for you and your partner, that they would try and keep you together or inform you that with your treatments you will not be together and if you informed them, they would, where possible, put you together, we'll no, what they will do is put the blame onto you as if your the professional that should know, all times of treatments are set to suit them, even your afternoon tea, I spent two hours in a treatment room propping up the wall in a room big enough for the member of staff, table and my partner so that we could stay together. When my partner had her full manicure it was done so fast that due to the many coats layers on her nails even two hours later you could put dents into the varnish. After the treatments we were left with no time to use the pools or saunas etc, here's their reply, when reading put in mind I spoke to this manager for about 1 minute max and did not complain, I just made a suggestion. Reply, Dear Mark Thank you for your email. Firstly, I would like to take this opportunity to assure all feedback is taken on board for future reference and any areas of concern will be looked into. My top priority is to ensure all our guests receive a high level of service and facilities and I am genuinely grateful when our customers take the time to share their experiences of the Hotel and Spa with us. Again, I am sorry that you felt that the most was not made of your Spa Day experience and I can assure you that the Team did their very best in making the day comfortable for the two of you. Having spoken to you already in detail with regards to your day and your return to us I would be very happy to speak with you directly. You have my card should you wish to contact me on the date for your return so that I can oversee your booking for you. Collapse

Rowhill Grange is very pretty from the outside and we looked forward to our stay. We were checked in by Harry who was very friendly and efficient and taken to our room by John, also warm and friendly. The room (Foxglove) and bathroom were nice, clean and cosy. Very basic, nothing to wow about. The service at the bar was very good, staff alway smiled and were very polite. The spa facilities were clean and not cramped. I found it strange that the men and women had separate saunas in the changing room areas, probably down to lack of space maybe. Also the steam room was busy and steam came from under the seat and so possibly 2 more people could squish in without that. We very much enjoyed dining in the restaurant, I was worried that as we are at 9pm that we wouldn't get great service or food but that wasn't the case. The food was really lovely and we didn't have to wait long at all. We were served by Victor and he was a joy. Breakfast too was very nice and meal served with smiles. I had one treatment which was a glorious mud detox, and it was as I expected really except maybe less mud. Collapse

The Mrs loved the Dec stay very much she decided to treat me to a valentines present ( I'm sure it's the comfortable bed she loves most as she told me to check the make and get one for us, I forgot) . Different room from previous and the size was quite impressive for a double room. I really can't fault this hotel and the breakfast was simple and filling. I've decided to buy a few utensils and practice some breakfast recipes at home lol Collapse
