Facilities and service were really good but got the impression the staff were trying a little too hard, nevertheless a great time in London Collapse

We stayed at this hotel to celebrate our 21st Wedding Anniversary and was recommended by my wife as she had used the conferencing facilities and had mentioned the excellent standard. We were greeted by the hotel reception staff who showed us around the hotel prior to taking us to our room..as far as first impressions go this was a lovely welcoming touch ( I believe his name was Roman). We dined at the Mirror room restaurant which was beautifully decorated with mirrored ceiling and the food being of exceptional quality. We'd like to especially thank Margarita, Anna and Shane for their service. We would also highly recommend the Scarfes Bar for its live music and outstanding bar room ... although very busy we both felt it was cosy and intimate and the band was fantastic. Having stayed at many 5 star + hotels around the world we can honestly say this has been one of the most memorable - beautiful hotel and beautiful people. We look forward to staying here again. We just arrived to the Rosewood London and we're received by the most talented and welcoming person, Natalia Escolar makes the rosewood London a MUST VISIT, not only was she charming and is charming herself but attentive to our needs, I couldn't be able to rate her attentions as she has surpassed a world traveler. Congratulations Rosewood on having someone like her represent a brand that exemplifies her carisma and charm. Collapse

This has been a brilliant weekend as a birthday present from a special friend. I cannot believe the service and the friendliness of all the staff we met during our stay. We were very fortunate to have an upgrade, whilst waiting for the room we visited the Holborn Gin Bar. There we did enjoy a gin or two! The room was fantastic as was the breakfast this morning in the mirror room. So a big thank you to my friend and all the staff at the Rosewood. PS thank you for the birthday cake and card. Collapse

My first visit to the Rosewood chain had some minor hiccups but the overall stay was quite pleasant. We made this special, short trip just to visit the British Museum, which was a few short blocks away from the hotel. The management was very generous to accommodate early check, and it was indeed welcomed after a red eye flight from Abu Dhabi. The lobby was quite busy with the departure of large tour group; the staff was a bit overwhelmed and niceties were kept to bare minimum. The Rosewood London is grande and the interior interesting: it is dark with endless corridors, vaulted ceilings and marble stair cases and one could easily get lost. Likewise, the room had heavy, dark drapes and a solitary lamp greeted us upon entering. There was ambient sun coming into the room; however, even the natural lights can't cheer up the room. The bathroom was a bit cramp and adorned with miniature size toiletries; can't remember the last time we had baby bottle of shampoo. The room would make a fantastic prison cell for white collar crime without the possibility of parole. We had a fantastic time exploring the grounds and it had an adequate gym and a very good wet and dry sauna. Unfortunately, no pool at the hotel. People were friendly here but just didn't have that little extra flare. The only let down are the restaurants. Breakfast was not very good, and we had better English breakfast in NYC; also demi-sized french press coffee that is charged per serving. As a heavy American-coffee drinker, I would be more comfortable for the hotel to charge a higher flat rate for a more generous serving. We also had high tea; the receptionists were extremely proud of the mirrored restaurant where it was served. We were told by them that this is the place to have high tea in London and how difficult it was to get a table and how much work went into designing the ceiling to be covered full of mirrors. I didn't have the heart to tell them: to be really impressed by similar decor, do check out the Cafe Un Deux Trois at the Mandarin Oriental Taipei. It was all fun and tongue-and-cheek; the staff exudes youthful exuberance. Finally, overall good impression of the Rosewood chain and really high marks and heart felt thank you to the manager for a very warm welcome and departure. However, the little ancillary touches could use some polishing. We would definitely return next time visiting London. Best part of the Rosewood London: Pearl, the hotel dog. Make sure you give her a pet and better yet, a little treat. Collapse
