Business Hotel with gorgeous foyer/reception, beautifully furnished and lovely decor with a luxury feel. Impressive entrance with tables, chairs and hammock chairs for drinks outside the front of the hotel. Happy hour at the bar in the foyer was at 6pm where there were free nibbles eg olives, crisps, crudités, etc. Buffet breakfast in the basement was good with a large selection on offer, including toast, cereals, yoghurts, fresh and dried fruit, croissants, crackers, various cakes and biscuits, cheeses and ham, tomato, scrambled egg, sausage and bacon. Extra charge for omelettes. We were first allocated a double room 106 with a bed (seemed to be king size) which was very comfy, nicely furnished and with twin bathroom washbasins and bath with shower and a hairdryer. Shampoo, conditioner, bath foam, soap, shower cap etc provided. Safe in wardrobe, lots of plug points and a fridge. We asked for extra pillows which came promptly (there's a 3 Euro charge for memory foam pillow). However on our second night, the room door would not lock and staff were unable to fix it, so we were moved to room 186, with twin beds which weren't so comfy, was a smaller bedroom and smaller bathroom without a bath. No views from either room. Room 106 was great, room 186 was disappointing. Reception staff were fluent in English and were helpful and polite, however their formal manner unfortunately came across as quite abrupt and with an exasperated air when requests were made or when problems arose. I think this was probably due to the formal business nature of the hotel, but I did find their tone a little patronising and uncomfortable. I don't think it was intentional on the hotel receptionists' part, more the fact that patience and hospitality was a little lost in translation, despite their obvious impressive language skills. The porters and the maintenance men that came to the room were friendly and helpful. The hotel was approx 20-25 minutes walk to the centre. In hindsight though it was a beautiful hotel, I would have booked a hotel nearer the centre. To find the hotel: turn right out of the train station, walk towards Esso petrol station, cross over busy main road at pedestrian crossing, turn right and walk under small tunnel, then look to your left and walk ahead where there is a sign for the hotel. There's a large storage room for luggage when you check out. Check in was at 2pm. Check out was at 11am. Collapse

Old hotel with dark rooms. Location is near the central station, but on the wrong side of it so to say. Breakfast is nice, but that is basically it. AC does not work well in the rooms. Very friendly staff though.

Nice stay, the hotel needs to be refurbished since it's stuck in the 80s but it was clean and the staff was friendly, lovely canal outside the hotel with bar service. Easy assess from the train station, around 5 min

I decided to go to Verona on 5 min, so I had nothing planned. My train got delayed and by the time I got to Verona, I couldn't get a good price at anything. The hotel was having a promotion and I got a room with 50% off. I had a very nice stay, slept amazingly well and the girl at the reception was very helpful. Breakfast was awesome and I walked the entire city (the touristic part) from the hotel and back. It is also a 5 min walking distance from the main train station. The only thing I needed that they didn't have was an adaptor for chargers, which I leave as a suggestion to have some at the main desk or one at each room in case guests from other countries forget to take one.
