I recently spent several nights at the Rosen Shingle Creek due to a conference. The check in/out was super fast, easy and smooth. I stayed in a king size room on the 6th floor. The room was very spacious. The room design is very (very) outdated. In the 80s this hotel might have been considered as fancy, but today I would say it is mainly outdated. Old furniture and very boring and old design. The bed was huge and very comfortable. Water stream at the shower was mediocre (and not pampering). Having said that, the hotel is super clean and the service is superb. Staff were extremely nice, professional, kind an informative throughout the hotel. The hotel staff is really service oriented ! They are all doing an awesome job. Food prices at the hotel were very expensive. The nice thing about this hotel is the variety of food options. They also have sort of a mini market / deli opened around the clock with various food options. This is in addition to the several restaurants which offer Mexican, Japanese & American food (all of which tasted not bad at all). Fitness center - cost money ! $10 per day or $20 for the entire stay. The gym is big and it offers a large variety of training equipment. It was clean and well maintained. Wifi was ok. They offer basic connection for free and high speed connection for extra $. The conference area was very nice, spacious and comfortable. It had lots of restrooms and felt very welcoming. The food was decent. To summarize the review - staff are doing an awesome job, but this place can't continue to count only on their high level of service, it's about time this hotel will go through a serious renovation and compare the facility to the high standards its employees have in place. The choices of restaurants is good- must try the Mexican restaurant that serves made at the table guacamole! The rooms are great and the beds are perfect. Could use newer pillows as they are quite flat. The outside pool areas are good for family or adults. I will definitely be back! Collapse

The Rosen is an impressive hotel set in its own grounds and surrounded by a golf course. It wasn’t the sort of hotel we would normally consider, but we got a good deal and the TA reviews were very positive so we took a chance. So glad we did. I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels and I can honestly say the Rosen is one of the best. The hotel and grounds are impeccable and the staff we encountered exceptionally friendly and helpful. As an example when we had just arrived and self-parked the security guy drove up and gave us a lift to the lobby. It is a bit of a walk. This happened again when we came back one particularly hot afternoon. Little things like that make a difference. The hotel is conveniently located about 15-20 minutes southwest of Orlando International Airport. The hotel is set away from the road in its own extensive grounds so it’s a tranquil and relaxing place to stay. Aircraft and traffic noise are not an issue. Its location also means it is well away from the Mickey and I-Drive madness. The hotel is popular with “conventioners”, so breakfast times and evenings can get busy, but when they were out conventioning it was pretty quiet. The room was spacious (double queen on fourteenth floor), clean and well maintained. The only issue was the air con. It rumbled away all the time then every 10 minutes or so went mental (like a plane taking off) for about 30 seconds when it blew cold air into the room. You get used to it but it was loud. The décor might not be to everyone’s taste but clearly they’ve gone to a lot of trouble to co-ordinate everything. I believe they call it Floridian or Spanish revival style, but not sure what that is. Did like the high ceiling in a pale blue. Everything worked, the beds were comfortable and the bedding was clean and in a good state. We had no issues with noise from other guests. The hotel facilities are excellent, with three pools, pretty gardens, a nature trail, several restaurants (some of a very high standard), a Starbucks and a well stocked market for food and snacks (everything we had was good quality and wouldn’t considered it over priced). Now this may sound sad but must mention the guest laundry. Probably the best we’ve used (although one in Oklahoma City came close). Loads of room, lots of machines, a change machine, detergent plus comfy chairs and a TV. We travel light so this is important. And of course there’s the golf course and the spa, but not really our thing. Despite its size the hotel didn’t seem too big or impersonal. They seem to have got the balance right. Also liked there were two sets of elevators, one set up to floor 9, the other from floors 10-14, so less stopping. Not keen on the caged birds in the lobby area. They seemed happy enough but would rather they were free. There was plenty of wildlife outside; birds, squirrels, lizards and even a saw a rabbit and a snake and that was all just in or near the rose garden between two of the pools. Didn’t need to do the nature trail, was too hot anyway… Other things to mention: They charge $18 a day for parking (valet $25), although we got it for free with our package. I know this can be an issue for some people. There is free wifi, although if you want to use large amounts of data you have to pay. What we got for free was perfectly adequate for our needs. The in-room TV has a fairly basic selection of channels. If you want sports then you’ll need to go to one of the bars (or the laundry room!) There is a Publix supermarket and some other shops across the street opposite the hotel’s entrance drive. It’s a bit of a pain to get across (three lanes each way plus a gap in the middle) as there are no traffic signals. Best turn right and make a u-turn up the road. So the plus points: Quality hotel, excellent facilities, great location, tranquil environs, friendly staff. Minuses: Probably not the best if you’ve got children and want to be where the action is, noisy air con. Would we stay there again? absolutely. Collapse

They upgraded my room to a king suite with a bath tub. I spent a long day in the car so this was amazing. I very much appreciated it. The location is great as well and we had a wonderful evening in Orlando. Will return.
