Three nights together with my daughter & 4 year old grand-daughter. A nice short break though the flight timing was such as to make the travel tedious. Spent some time by the hotel pool where the 4 year old had a great time - didn't want to leave. She made a good friend of about the same age. Service at the hotel pool was good - nice cafeteria lunch. Spent a day going to Malaga: an easy trip by train from near the hotel. Took the roun city bus tour - highly recommended - highlights were visit to the Picasso Museum. Congratulations to the Spanish football team & the Spanish supporters in Torremolinos who made a lot of noise but no drunkness or nasty behaviour. Collapse

The hotel is in a good position but rather dated. The rooms were cleaned regular but the 11th floor which we were on left a lot to be desired regarding decoration etc We stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks in October but unfortunately they dont tell you at Jet 2 that in the middle of the month the hotel changes from being a normal holiday hotel to a Spanish Bus Tours location for retired Spanish people from all over Spain. By the end of our stay 90% of the guests were from the Bus Tours which at meal times was not a pleasant experience as they all crowed into the restaurant. Tables were not getting cleaned and reset and the queues to get into the restaurant became a free for all!! Also small things changed after the arrival of the bus tours such as No more fresh Pineapple with breakfast, no more omelets and the bacon became a type of fried processed meat (not bacon)and that was only breakfast but it did make a difference. There are no english channels on the TVs in the room and when we asked at reception we were told that the only news type channel in english was Russia Today (not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel) We enjoyed Torremolinos as a holiday destination and found plenty to do especially with the trains being located in the centre of town and with easy access to the airport and other destinations to visit, but unfortunately we would not want to stay at this hotel again. We stayed here for 9 nights early October and travelled from Malaga Airport by train for a mere 1.80 Euros then a short walk to this very central hotel with a bus stop outside serving Fuengirola, Benalmadena and Mijas so no need for car hire here! Our room was on the top floor,11th and was cleaned to a high standard daily by the very friendly housekeeping staff but from the hotel website photos we expected a coffee maker and when I questioned this with the very helpful Reception staff who speak perfect English I was told this is a facility of the Junior Suite not standard rooms but we could hire one for 5 Euros a day. As we were b&b we didn’t do so but the website should clarify the standard of room in all photos to better manage customer expectations. Also there is no ironing facility on site which I expect at a supposed 4* hotel but it can be sent out at an unreasonable price so pack a travel iron is the lesson learned! Apart from those 2 issues we enjoyed our time here and ate the substantial breakfast every morning and even one day when we were going to Seville at 7.30am they opened up for us and other excursion guests at 7am so they are customer proactive. A fantastic spread of whole and cut fruits, yoghurts, pastries, meats and cheeses and then the hot selection including a chef cooking omelettes to order though a bigger variety of ingredients eg spinach and peppers would improve this. And lovely fresh breads and unlimited juices, coffee and tea.We used the complimentary poolside sun beds a couple of times and they’d be better if they all had adjustable back rests as we’re all different shapes and sizes but a complimentary shuttle bus operates to the beach where there may be adjustable sun beds.Being so central we were spoilt for choice with eating and drinking establishments close by so each day was different. This claims to be **** bust honestly for the facilities they offer they would be more at home with one possibly two stars. The rooms to start with - air conditioning was useless could have blown better air myself. Ladies dressing table in the room does not have a mirror therefore you must stand in the bathroom to put on your make-up and fix your hair, not ideal. Bathroom did not have extractor fan therefore taking shower or using the facilities was quite unpleasant. Flooded the bathroom on more than one occasion as shower door was hard to get sealed correctly and you couldn't put shower on full for risk of flooding, also bathroom quite tiny. No internet only in the lobby which was a pain. We where half board and while the dining room was pleasant in decor and the food was very good plenty for all tastes it was the most awful dining experience, the constant noise of the staff banging dishes into the clean-up trollies was horrendous and it never ceased breakfast and evening meal, just wanted to eat as quick as I could and get out, it was like sitting in a cheap cafe somewhere or school dining hall - seriously it was really bad it took the whole enjoyment out of eating, there was always long ques also for the cooked roasts in the evening. It was pretty central and did supply a bus to and from the beach which was very convenient, and staff were pleasant. We did have a few nights when our neighbours created a lot of noise kicking and punching doors. Very small balcony which was looking out on an awful view we where staring at the back of private apartments, bins etc. Never sat out once. Really don't imagine ever staying there again. Ps never buy sangria from the bar it was vile. The entertainment was bad, very bad even the participants on one occasion walked off stage they where so fed up. Collapse
