We were looking for a nice place to have our son's birthday party. After long search and some outrages prices for such event at other 5 star properties, we decided to have our birthday at Rixy club. The place itself is very nice and their animation team is very good. They entertained our kids for 3 hours, doing games, water games and face painting. The guest relations team and Ipek were very helpful and took care of us. We then had Friday brunch, and they decorated and set the tables very nicely with balloons and flowers. Collapse

After staying at Rixos The Palm Dubai for 7 days in September last year, we didn’t waste much time in going back there. We actually booked our return almost as soon as we got back…..but this time we wanted to stay for longer. 10 days to be precise. Not much had changed (unsurprisingly as it had only been 5 months) but that is not a bad thing. The biggest difference was that the Seafood Restaurant was open (which it wasn’t in September). We ate here twice during our stay and we cannot recommend it highly enough. Beautiful setting on the beach, fresh seafood and very large portions. We also ate at the Italian restaurant within the hotel on one occasion. The food is fantastic but it does lack atmosphere. We ventured out of the hotel for food on a couple of occasions but as we were on an “Ultra All Inclusive” holiday, we ate in the hotel most evenings. Other than when we dined in the Italian and the Seafood restaurant we used the main buffet. For dinner, the buffet was always fantastic with a BBQ available most evenings (lobster, steak, chicken, kebabs, salmon, and more!!). We also used the buffet for breakfast but this was not so great as there is not much variation from day to day and the hot food options were not great. The Omelette chef is outstanding though. In the mornings the waiting staff are friendly but not very good. Trying to get a pot of tea can take a while! For lunch we ate on the beach and chose from the beach bar menu. Decent selection of salads, wraps and burgers. Ok, now the service…. Pretty much across the board the customer service at The Rixos The Palm Dubai is outstanding. Mohammed in Customer Relations is absolutely brilliant at his job. Very personable, nothing is too much trouble and a great asset for the hotel. Victoria who works in the bar and the outdoor cocktail bar is always excellent. She is incredibly friendly and appears to really care if you are having a good stay. However, I believe that she has now left the hotel for pastures new. Also working in the cocktail bar are Margaret, Sheila and Mariam. They are all lovely and great at their jobs. We spent most days on the private beach. We were served by some excellent and hardworking waiting staff but special praise has to go to Firzan and Paul. Two great guys! Also working outside are the sports / entertainment team. Anna, who does the aqua aerobics and other sports is amazing! Always smiling, bubbly and full of enthusiasm. Mohammed is just the same. Really happy and friendly. Whilst talking about activities, I would like to mention Bulent who runs the gym. He’s also a credit to the hotel. However, the gym is pretty rubbish at the hotel. I really hope that they spend some money to seriously improve the equipment and free weights in there. Another complaint would be the WiFi. It is poor in the hotel and the beach WiFi is pointless as it drops out all of the time. Also, we were not impressed with the Concierge service. I mentioned this in my last review back in September but it is certainly not a Concierge service. I actually don’t know what they do as they are not much help. To be honest, Mohammed in Customer Relations is much more of a Concierge. Another staff mention I would like to make is for Danesh, Head of Security. He used his contacts to get us into the nightclub next door to the hotel. He went out of his way to help and this is obviously beyond the call of duty. Finally, I have to write about Jhun who works in maintenance. He fixed a problem we were having with our curtain and actually remembered us from our previous visit. He is so friendly and great to chat to whilst he was cracking on with the repair. He fixed it in no time! Overall, we had another amazing holiday at Rixos The Palm Dubai and we have already started talking about returning in September / October this year (which will be our 3rd time in 12 months….which sums up how we feel about the hotel!). We stayed for 18 nights in July 17 2 adults and 1 child. On arrival we were greeted by such a special and kind person Elis Seval who looked after us throughout our stay. If you do have a problem whilst you are there without hesitation this lady will make sure that all is rectified asap. Thank you Elis x The exceptional service offered around the pool from Manju,Wilson,Paul,Firzan,my dear friend Bosca and 'limbo pani' beach attendant 'sorry if I have forgot someone' is by far the best that we have received on any holiday that we have been on. The main restaurant is fantastic with plenty of choice for all with Mustafa,Annis and Yilmaz making sure that all your needs are taken care of. The Italian restaurant is fantastic with such lovely food. Jagdish 'Sommelier' and 'Maitre d' Svetlana offer such a fantastic dining experience. To conclude It is without doubt the staff of this hotel makes it such a fantastic place to stay for couples and families alike. Excellent facilities, fantastic food and lovely location. See you in August for my 50th Bday!!! Well done all!! Collapse
